How close are your childrens bdays

Planning on number three, I didn't want the bdays to be near dd or ds. But then last night I had a brainwvae and thought if I started trying now there wqould be near enough exactley two years between ds and db so we could do joint bday parties.... saves all the hassle in the future of only having to do two and not three...
or am I being unrealistic, selfish etc....

ds1 and dd3 share their b/d 3rd of may with 12 yrs apart
dd2 14/11/92 ds2 03/11/04(this was also the day my mum died)

BadHair · 05/08/2005 23:41

Mine are 2 years and 10 days apart. Perfect for joint parties, except that I want them to have their own individual parties, so therefore not ideal.

cerys · 05/08/2005 23:56

DD1 and DD2 are 1 day apart with 1 year 364 days between them! Great for joint parties the first couple of years, not so good now they will both be at school, as I will either have to organise 1 massive party for the 2 classes or do 2 separate ones. That is the way things seem to be in their school for the 1st couple of years - the whole class gets invited and most do turn up.
We wanted to avoid any more comments about only having sex in September (girls are June babies) so DS is October and there are 2 yrs 4 months between him and DD2.

April, March, and February. With a nearly two and a nearly 3 year gap. I was hoping to have a January baby next to keep up with the trend but next baby is due in March so there will be a 4 year +1month gap.

5 months. dd's birthday was rubbish timing though. too near xmas and new year for my liking...more money and no excuse to buy garden toys for it. (so i have to get those in summer..costing me more iyswim!!) ds's birthday is perfect although if he hadnt have been prem it would have been in October. (6 1/2 years between them though)

threeboys3 · 06/08/2005 00:59

Ds1 is 10years and 1 day older than ds3!-I spent his tenth birthday in labour! We celebrated halloween, then next day was ds1 11th, then day after was ds3 1st-just family parties but a hectic 3 days!Ds2 is 3 months later!

I only have a DS so far but because of my husbands job, he is unable to take holiday during April-Oct. Due to this we tried to plan our 1st for beginning of Oct so DH would be around to help (DS was born on 29th Sept so almost perfect.) Anyway, we are thinking ofr trying for another and would ideally aim for same time so again DH would be at home to help - especially important with 2 children!

My thoughts were that we are going to have a very expensive time of year with 2 sets of birthday presents to fork out for, but after reading this post realise at least we may save a bit with joint parties!!

mumtosomeone · 06/08/2005 08:24

we have Jan (mine and ds1)
June (DH)
Aug (DS2)
Sept (DS4)

serenity · 06/08/2005 11:45

Not quite sure how we managed it but ours are spread quite evenly through the year

DS1 February, then 2 yrs 4 mths later
DS2 June, then 3 years 5 mths later
DD in November

jane313 · 06/08/2005 11:51

people who I know who had siblings with very similar brithdays always thought that their parents had only had sex at a certain time in the year. Usually xmas annivcersarys birthdays or summer hols!

mumtosomeone · 06/08/2005 12:42

I was going to put each month in a hat and get each family member to pull it out then we would celebrate their un birthday.

saffy202 · 06/08/2005 20:31

17 days between mine. But in November so it's an expensive time If they had both arrived on their due dates there would have been 3 days, so could have been worse!

jane313 · 06/08/2005 20:33

did you all plan these birthdays to be so close?

Magscat · 06/08/2005 20:53

Hi Luckylady. My brother and I have the same birthday (I'm 2 years older) and I resented having joint parties for alot of my childhood - didn't like having his friends at my party.

Maybe this wouldn't have been the same if we'd been the same gender. Maybe I was just a horrid spoilt child !
