What's up with Pampers? - elastic breaking

What's happened to Pampers?
Every nappy I have used in the last 2 weeks from 3 separate packs has had dodgy elastic. It keeps snapping while my son is wearing the nappy and then the contents leak out - yuck...
They have recently started putting cardboard in the packs saying 'this pack contains trial nappies instead of the ones you wanted to buy' but I assumed that was a marketing gimic to explain why there were less in the pack.
Are Pamper going bust? Are they using a cheaper elastic and making shoddy nappies now?
Any other recommended brands? My son has ezcema so I need a soft nappy (otherwise he scratches his bum till it bleeds where the nappy rubs)but I am happy to swap from Pampers now.

Hello. We've just had a call from Pampers and they've asked us to post this statement:

"We are sorry for any confusion caused with the new Pampers Active Fit with Dry Max and any problems you?ve experienced. We take your concerns very seriously.

"As you can appreciate we can't respond directly on forums without the permission of the Forum owner, so please call us on 0800 328 328 1 (UK) or 1800535124 (Ireland), so we can help you personally.

"Thank you for raising your concerns; they are very important to us, and we look forward to your call to help you in any way we can.

Yours sincerely, the Pampers Team"

Hi Merrylegs. We've found (from our bulging Report this Post inbox!) that most MNers don't like advertisers/retailers barging onto Talk threads - even ones where their products are being discussed.

So we tend to advise companies in this situation to give us a statement which we can post up for them.
