Do you ever let your daughter go knickerless?

It's so hot I've just been putting dd who is 2 in dresses and feel a bit bad making her wear pants when I don't wear them myself in this heat.

Is it ok to let little girls go pantless, or not? Opinions please.

I have to admit I prefer to wear knickers usually. Today however, it is too hot to wear a thong under my thin cotton trousers, and I looked awful when I put a normal pair of kecks on, so I am in fact knickerless.

Thanks for asking MP. I am pleased to say I am back with the knickered brigade. I didn't like it one bit. I was constantly conscious of having nothing on down there which was abit off putting as I do like to think about other things during the day too. Frankly, I found I sweated a lot and felt sticky whereas, the minute I put some nice cotton pants on, I felt dry and normal. I have learnt someting from this: your pants wick away moisture and keep you feeling fresh!

Speaking as a single dad, I never had a problem with what my daughter does or doesn't wear. I find it a wee bit annoying that some parents brow-beat their children into what you can and can't do, ie "must ALWAYS have pants on" and "no knickers is dirty". My daughter is a teenager now and rarely wears knickers....it's her choice!

I pewrsonally don't like to be knickerless, but than my pelvic floor is less than perfect after 5 kiddies (need I go on!!!!).

As for my girlies, I also feel uncomfortable at the thought when they are out, but at home then tis really up to them, but that is mainly down to the fact that none of them sit in an exactly lady like manner, and to be honest I really don't think 'joe public' need to see my daughters sat that way...

Mind you, when they do ballet then they go knickerless under their leotards and any other dance wear as then they are that bit cooler, and they are still modestly covered in the same way as a swimming costume.

Hey ho tho......I do love to see bare bums so tis each to their own.

Oooh, another thought.....would never let my boys go bare......they would spend every spare minute pulling on themselves...!

I go knickerless quite regularly in the house but would never do it outside, fear of skirt blowing up and all that. Personally I dont have a problem with DD going bare bottomed at home, she sleeps completely naked (always strips clothes off in bed) but to be honest I would not feel comfortable in public just in case she exposed herself, you never know who could be looking IYSWIM. It's a shame really as its all innocent but we live in a society where there are some very warped people about and you never really know who you are mixing with.

When my dd was about 3, she said "Oh, it's Aunty Sue's party today isn't it? As it's a special occasion, I'll put some pants on"

Hi As a new poster I have to say Knickers are not often worn in our house. My 13 yr old daughter hasnt worn them for a long time,they wernt worn under jeans or leggins since she was clean and dry reliably in the day so that must be 9 yrs ago. She always was bare bummed under skirts and dresses in the house, puttin them on when going out, that faded out when she learned to sit etc without showing all around age 10 she doesnt wear any at school either or when she wears her wide belt mini skirts,She was out today in town and her skirt just covered her bum cheeks.
She wears knickers only when on her period or when she is unwell with tummy ache and then thats only when she is in bed.
I say let them do what they want regarding clothing, they will anyway when out of your site,might as well know what they do.
