Don't think I like the workhorse nappies. Lewis has just sat down in it and the crotch is bulging up so much I can see his bits right it through like a tunnel!

50ftQueenie · 08/02/2010 12:38

Oh dear! DD wore one yesterday but I put leggings over the top so didn't notice if it gapped. When I folded the inserts they seem to not leave a gap at front and though I know she won't wee that high, it still makes me nervous. The one I put on her yesterday lasted about 4.5 hours in the end!

mumface · 08/02/2010 12:48

Maybe I am not folding them right or using too many. Wasn't sure which inserts came with night nappies after they had all been washed!

Ha ha! I had the same problem! I think I was lucky because when I put the ones I thought had come with the night nappy, they all seemed to line up to the same length so fitted really well. I bought additional inserts and they seem to be very long compared to the others. I am sure we'll work it out at some point!

morning - ears a bit better but still ache! Have been teaching this morning so just catching up.

Jabula showed me the wild child nappies the other day and I thought they were lovely - I preferred the two parter - did have lots of inserts but looked fab. Very very soft!

50ftQueenie · 08/02/2010 13:29

Octo - They are indeed lovely and soft. The first thing dd did when I opened them was to rub her face in them. Shame she had a hideously snotty nose at the time! Ouch for the ear ache, glad it's a bit better.

4- Not sure if he was joking about date or not! The history is together for 2 years, split up for a year, got back together, got married, had 2 kids, was married for 8 years, then divorced, had another baby together...

50ftQueenie · 08/02/2010 13:56

Sounds complicated Mumface!

mumface · 08/02/2010 14:05

I am happy as things are tbh, I've got 3 little men in my life- that's enough for me! But nice to have the company now and again as we are still best mates, it was an amicable divorce.
Anyway less of my love(less) life, back to happy fluffville for me!

50ftQueenie · 08/02/2010 14:08

Someone please get me to step away from nappy window shopping. I am meant to be on a shopping ban but Babybots' Bedbugs are tempting me..... Heeeeeeeeelp!

QueenofDreams · 08/02/2010 17:57

Ah octo - have all the fuzzi's gone? was thinking of trying them on ds.
DS is 16months now. He's been in dispos the last couple of weeks due to house move. unfortunately dp noticed that ds nappy rash has completely disappeared, and wants to carry on with dispos.
I've decided I'd rather try changing detergents and see if that helps. ds has bad skin all over, so thinking detergent could be the culprit for both problems. nappies are currently being stripped to remove all traces.
someone asked what nappies ds has?
10 pop-ins
5 sandies
10 bambinex teddies
3 fluffles
8 bambinex bamboos
2 weenotions AI2s
2 NB stuffables
1 slinky minky
1 itti
think that's everything

QueenofDreams · 08/02/2010 18:02

queenie - I hardly ever get to mcnn things, if you want to let me know when the next one is I can try and go your daughter is a little doll! Saw the photos before the voting was done, and the winning photo too. The photographer who did the portraits goes to my bf group, and took all the photos at ds first birthday free of charge. (had invited her to party, she turned up with her camera )

thebluefoxategreensocks · 08/02/2010 18:31

QueenofDreams: My Benjamin who is nearly 3 has suffered from severe eczema since he was 18m and we've finally seen his skin soooo much better since NOT using ANY detergent. Even washing the nappies in Surcare (approved by Eczema Voice or some other similar charity) will bring his bottom out with patches of eczema. I make my own mix with soap flakes and a few other things (bicarb of soda, borax substitute, and soda crystals) and I think his skin has improved ever since all his clothes, nappies, bedding (and stuff for the whole family!) is washed that way. Everything comes perfectly clean, smells nicely clean, but just no scent like you get used to with fancy detergents. But it's so worth it for Benjamin to be able to wear ordinary clothes, after 18 months of wearing cotton tights on his legs just to keep him from scratching them. He's been able to be tights-free for 3 weeks now - it's amazing! It's about 6 months now since we went detergent free, but the improvement started about 6-8 weeks after that.

QueenofDreams · 08/02/2010 18:41

rachel - that is very interesting. DS has eczema all over. I'll see how the change of detergent works, if it doesn't I'll be asking for your recipe - my local pound shop sells borax and all the rest (use them for cleaning the kitchen)
Can tell the nappies really need the stripping, as there are loads of suds in the machine, even though I didn't use any detergent in the wash. I just put some soda crystals in the drawer to help things along as we have very hard water here.

50ftQueenie · 08/02/2010 19:02

QOD - The details are on here. The rest of you can look at my dd in all her cloth nappy wearing glory.

Scotia · 08/02/2010 19:36
