have to take DS1 to his induction afternoon (2nd one - hoping he doesn't throw up like he did last week LOL) at his new school.........thing is DS2 has his sleep at 1pm-3pm - and the induction afternoon starts at 1.30

So I'm going to put DS2 down for his sleep as usual, at 1.30 on the dot grab the monitor, lock the front door and whizz round to the school to drop DS1 off - then whizz back again

carjacking, kidnapping, someone crashing into car, someone throwing something at car window and smahing it. Sorry i know what you're saying just pointing out some other risks.

RTKangaMummy · 21/06/2005 12:19

LAst friday I tripped over at school and it took me several mins to get up again

starlover · 21/06/2005 12:20

but i hardly think someone is going to nick your LOCKED car outside a petrol station!

admit someone could run into you... but still think there are probably MORE risks with walking around a forecourt with a baby! and a baby is better protected in a car than in your arms/being carried in carseat!

I avoid this conundrum by always getting dh to take the car out to fill it up

Angeliz · 21/06/2005 12:25

I usually try to go to Asda as i can pay at the window drive through thingy.

starlover · 21/06/2005 12:27

yeah, tesco do pay at pump

starshaker · 21/06/2005 12:28

yip i generally only get petrol when dp is with me then he can pay for it lol but on the odd occasion i get it myself thats what i do. there is only 1 pump in the station as well so cars cant reall do anything but wait till i finnish

lunachic · 21/06/2005 12:28

QofQ its wrong you know its wrong so why are you being so facetious about it ?
your treating this as a joke when its a serious matter and acting like everybodies out to get you when they disagree -everyones disagreed because its wrong and those who dont have been wise enough to keep shut
i cant help but ask what are you going to do next week ? nip round to the chippy and wait in the que whilst they sleep peacefully in bed-
the point is although something is unlikely to happen imagine how you would feel if something bad did happen and you weren't there

"knock a hole in the wall between house and school playground and send older child there by himself"

Actually that's quite a good suggestion - bizarelly (sp) the Grandad one of DS1's best friends at nursery used to live in this house - his 3 kids went to the school - and apparently sometime if they were 'really' late for school he'd lift them over the wall (it's quite tall on this side, but a lot lower on the other

I've considered buying on of those ladders that 'hook' over walls so he can climb up one side and down the other with no assitance

"everyones disagreed "

No they haven't

I never go to get petrol that is DH job

I do all the driving when we are together but he always puts petrol in tank and pays for it

starlover · 21/06/2005 12:29

actually i don't think it's wrong lunachic.

neither do other people on this thread.

perhaps we should bump up the RISK ASSESSMENT thread again, because that's what this is really about.

WigWamBam · 21/06/2005 12:32

What this is about is QoQ getting a rise out of us, knowing that people would take the bait. I really think that she posted purely to start a hoo-haa, because she knew that it would.

elsmommy · 21/06/2005 12:32

Some people are so overprotective!!!!

What harm is a baby asleep in a cot going to come to?

QueenOfQuotes · 21/06/2005 12:33

"the point is although something is unlikely to happen imagine how you would feel if something bad did happen and you weren't there"

Something could have happenned yesterday when I was mowing the lawn, it could have happened the day before when I was putting washing on the line

Embarassed to say that ALL of my kids accidents that have resulted in bumps, bruises, or scratches have ALL been while I was actually 'with' them (ie in the same room watching them rather than cooking dinner etc etc).

OP posts:
lunachic · 21/06/2005 12:33

i can see your point the if your going by probability of something happening while your out its ok because 'it'll probably be ok' but in principle it is totally wrong -go and ask the police fire service or the social services
i have been tempted to do it on the odd occasion but i never have -sometimes ill ask a neighbour to sit for 5 mins or ill just take the kids with me (oh the hassle)

jessicasmummy · 21/06/2005 12:33

thats QOQ all over... just had the same discussion on msn with a "friend".

Hence the boden number question.

starlover · 21/06/2005 12:35

well if you think she is doing it to get a "rise" then why all reply?

lunachic · 21/06/2005 12:37

qofq i think you are pathetically picking an argument
thought it was funny that you accused everyone else of getting out of bed on the wrong side when really its you
one last question queen of scrotes WHAT BIT YOUR BUM TODAY ?

starlover · 21/06/2005 12:38

gosh lunachic... there's no need to be nasty!

QueenOfQuotes · 21/06/2005 12:41

"I really think that she posted purely to start a hoo-haa, because she knew that it would."

No I posted in the same way I've been doing for the last 6 months, haven't changed my style - have been 'upsetting' people (and making up again) for sometime now

OP posts:
assumedname · 21/06/2005 12:41

It's because they don't know who you are, methinks.

QueenOfQuotes · 21/06/2005 12:42

"one last question queen of scrotes WHAT BIT YOUR BUM TODAY ?"

Nothing today - but a red ant got me yesterday

starlover · 21/06/2005 12:42
