New thread.

May our nights be dry, our days free of wicking, and may growth spurts coincide with lovely new fluffy product releases. Hurrah!

Are any of you sellers going to the buisness start up show? I am trying to get childcare to go on the 26th (thursday) but will have to be home by 5pm which is pushing it a bit? but it looks like it will be extremly useful.

4andnotout · 12/11/2009 06:56

Morning all

Im today as i have sold enough of my itti's to buy dd1 a nice sylvanian house for xmas. It feels very good to be able to sell them back on and not lose hardly anything, they have most definitely paid for themselves!

I have 9 bbh's and 6 fleece soakers (3 for each girl plus i have another 2 for sale )

DD3 is still doing brilliantly with knickers, there is no going back at all! She has one night time nappy and that is it, it has made my washing load lighter, i only have to do a nappy wash every other day now!

Right i'd better get on, make some lunches and wrap the parcels ready to post on the way home from school.

I hope connor is feeling better

LackaDAISYcal · 12/11/2009 08:21

I agree, micros not bulky at all. In fact I think they are quite slim fitting and stretch well so good on a bigger baby as well.

I have just checked and the micros are 100% polar fleece outer with a two layer wellsoft inner.

Well, the jury is in....and pumpkin pants ROCK . Nappy was only just damp, pants dry and outer clothing dry too. I am truly amazed as the tots rainbow wrap which is the same construction (ie one layer fleece with a double layer in the crotch) had DD soaking in the morning. Of course now I'm worrying that his nappy was so dry because he is hideously dehydrated with his temp being so high for the last few days

for the sold ittis, but for the money made.

I need to have a clear out as well, as there are loads of nappies I just don't use...can't bear to part with them though!

Babybots · 12/11/2009 08:32

Morning you chatty lot!

Soory been a bit AWOL for a few days been really busy!

I hope Bumble and BabyMYjob are both ok? Those temps dont sound good!

4- yey to selling the Ittis and getting xmas present sorted, how fab is that! to less nappies though!

Well im now sporting a lovley new Nappy Keyring and fleece soaker from Octo will give it ago tonight!

And just had some Fluffy post! Not for me though! lol

Our night nappies are just boring little lamb cotton or bamboos and bambinex bamboo and i have a close parent pop in i use if i run out! And ive got a fair few wraps but am loving the magic of fleece at the moment! SO ive got a bebesnuggles, a Pumpkin pants and a great swaddlebees fleece wrap!

Hope to have first dibs on a bedbug or two - dh depending!

Not got much on (yet) today so gonna have a rest and a slob day although i should be tidying the house have MIL staying the weekend lol

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 12/11/2009 08:37

Daisy - me too. I should just clear everything except what I use. But all I use is the micros with wool or pockets (coolababy or YoYoo). But I have LOADS of other nappies, I need to sell them all really but just don't get round to it!

Elouise was up at 5am and Talia woke pretty much once an hour all night. So shattered today. Early night I think! Going to my Dads in a bit - need to get ready but can't keep awake!

LackaDAISYcal · 12/11/2009 09:20

Jenny, I was planning on outting mine om my preloved section...when I get round to getting the shop up and running. I seem to have slowed right down on the business front. But, DH is off work tomorrow so I'm going to get a full days work in. Most of which will be spent on the phone begging for an audience!

bumble's temp back to normal today but he is still coughing and has a horrible sounding rattle and wheeze. It sounds all upper airways though rather than chesty. DD has got it as well now

task for today is finding the school parents' group cheque book, which I appear to have lost

Octothebaglady · 12/11/2009 09:38

Yeah for Pumpkin Pants

Babybots - forgot to give you the last bambinex btp bamboo the other day - will pop in post.

I have found the problem with selling unused nappies is that you invariably need them again lol!!

Going out for the day

4andnotout · 12/11/2009 10:14

Bbaybots, i wont need to send the mint one back now as im going to sell it as a damange one Someone might want it cheap for the inserts

treedelivery · 12/11/2009 10:40

Blimey you natter chatters!!

Another succesful night in microfleece and TotsBots red fleece wrap. Truly rock.
The new lavender one is waaaay better, but we still do ok with the old style too. Not as a nappy under pul, but as a nappy with fleece or wool they do fine.

Where are the soakers 4? CNT?

Glad the babies are better. Phew!!

Rachel, was thinking of your Clement and his rash last night. Do yuo think it might be the soap flakes? I know they rae a pure product and as such a good thing, but soap is very alkeline I think? Maybe with wee on it is becoming aggressive - assuming some is left on the nappy. Which I would guess there must be a bit. His whole body wouldn't react as his tops are not wet or wet with wee you know? Also any essential oils might do the same - dd1 cannot have lavender on her skin in any form. Most eco baby products have lavender in, she itched on contact

Just a thought. I may have dreamnt that you use soap flakes and oils

thebluefoxategreensocks · 12/11/2009 10:55

tree: no you didn't dream it! LOL I wash the nappies in soap flakes, soda crystals, bicarbonate of soda, and borax substitute, and occasionally some tea tree oil. However, the cotton Tots that he recently reacted to, had been stripped and boil washed (95 degree), and washed in a tiny bit of Surcare. So seems everything is doing it. But I'm still wondering if it's possible elastic he's allergic to, as I think octo might have suggested. Or maybe it's "lastin" - I'm sure I've heard of some cloth nappying mums who said their baby had an allergy to lastin. I know Clement got worse more quickly when wearing the UD minki wraps (our lovely brand new ones! ) and I wasn't sure if it was the minki making him too hot or what. But now I'm thinking maybe it could be the elastic/lastin.

Certainly he's been best when wearing LoveBums wraps, as they have NO elastic! Just lovely fleece cuffs, which are super soft for any babies with sensitive skin/thighs. I highly recommend them, even more than ME wraps!

So I think it might be either/both the elastic or the "bulk" of cloth/stitching where the boosters attach to his size 2 Tots Bots, as that's the bulk of our nappies, and he always has had the rash come back when wearing them. But some nappies with loose boosters (so no bulk for attachment) have seemed better. So I'll maybe do further experimenting in a couple of weeks, but want to give disposables a go for a while to make sure it doesn't come back in a few days time while in sposies!

Ok, better get back to cake decorating! Abigail is 4 today! And she wants a Hello Kitty cake .... so better attempt it now!

LackaDAISYcal · 12/11/2009 14:27

I was in Sainsbury's earlier and they have a two pack of girls fleece trousers for £5. I was thinking, sew in a thick fleece liner in the crotch area and...

Hey Presto...two pairs of fleece longies for less than £6!! Of course they didn't have them in boys colours or I would have tried it myself.

Octothebaglady · 12/11/2009 16:41

Daisy - if you havea really absorbent nappy on they should be okay !

Babymumface's temperature has been fine since and he is happy but has a rash on cheeks and chin. Tried to get him in doctors but they shut at dinner on Thursdays
Have done glass test and it disappears so not too worried. It looks like a heat/sweat rash, he is dribbling a lot at the moment. Will monitor and take him in the morning.
He also has the runs, his Itti leaked so badly it soaked through clothes to carseat and was all over back and legs. And I was at my solicitors aswell
Myjob Ohh loverly bet you can't wait, they are custom colours arn't they

LackaDAISYcal · 12/11/2009 20:07

It's not slapped cheek is it mumface? There is a lot of it about here at the minute.

mumface · 12/11/2009 20:23

Hey thanks Daisy! that does sound like what he has, with the high temp being stage 1, then the rash etc. Never had that in any of mine before so never recognised any signs. Sounds like if it is that it's nothing to worry about.

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 12/11/2009 20:27

COuld it be teething? SOrry I usually hate it when people say that. But ed cheeks/chin, dribbling, temp, loose nappies, all signs of teething?

Daisy, I have got a pair of fleece trousers that I use when we are at home in the day over fitteds. They seem to work OK how they are. Not100% reliable if the nappy gets very wet, so wouldn't use at night but fine when just playing at home. Will look next time I am in sainsburys though as I was hoping to get some more!

Off to the gym now -- got to walk in the rain

mumface · 12/11/2009 20:46

Am pretty convinced it is slapped cheek as he has all the symptoms including the cheek rash in the exact order. I have fleece pyjamas for the boys from Primark, about £4 a pair. They are good back up over Ecobub pockets which are tending to leak a bit now.

mumface: Clement (7m) had temperature and not much else wrong the other week - just before the episode with thrush. I started to panic at first, thinking the temp might have been a return of a urine infection, so I took him to the GP. The doctor said his throat looked inflamed/red, so I was relieved that it was just a cold/virus. But then 2 days later, the temp had gone, but poor Clement was covered in rash, back & tummy - totally spotty, and patches on his head/face, which came & went with the heat. Returned to GP who said it would be a virus, with the rash & temp, and that usually a rash meant it was coming to the end of the virus, and hopefully he'd be better soon - which he was! So, hopefully your little one will be better soon. The GP also mentioned the slapped face one, as well as something else - seems there are a lot of these virus about and they're common with babies!

mumface · 12/11/2009 22:24

Just been up to feed him, rash is worse bright red cheeks and spreading down chest now Poor baby is pulling at his face so I think it's hot/itchy. But temp still fine and he had a good feed. Sounds like a virus tried some Calpol but he spat most of it out. Lewis keeps waking up screaming he can see a crocodile. Oh dear it's going to be a fun night

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 12/11/2009 22:28

Oh dear mumface! Really hope you get some sleep and LO starts to feel better. Can you mix calpol with anything to get him to take it? (not sure if thats recomended?)

mumface · 12/11/2009 22:35

Could mix with some milk but he won't want a feed till 7am now. He's gone to sleep lukily. Will use spoon next time like last night, just used syringe type thing and he wasn't keen.
