My child's teacher shouts at her and has belittled her in class. She told her that she will not be trusted anymore.
I think it is very unprofessional and I also think that is it mental abuse. Can you give me any advice please

franklymydear · 26/09/2009 19:43

I have actually tried to be helpful on this thread so I'm interested in whether I'm one of the bad guys or not

alwayslookingforanswers · 26/09/2009 19:43

me perfect??? PMSL

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 26/09/2009 19:44

No-one is perfect, Evelyn. Except your DD, of course.

Lulumama · 26/09/2009 19:46

evelyn, MNers tend to tell it like it is

getting all bristly won't help

thing is your DD did do something wrong, but you are more focused on the TA being a child abuser , which based on teh small amount of info seems really OTT, so people have reacted to that

also, several parents want to remove their child from school due to this TA.. rather than complaining ?

just all a bit much to take in really

Evelyn61 · 26/09/2009 19:55

No actually a number of reasons didn't mean to mislead you. Lack of homework, lack of communication quite a few reasons.

You dont give us much information to make a fair judgement- could have just been a one of incident. But anyway, I dont think that it is child abuse!

You know - we are all human, even teachers & support staff - everyone has their "off" days. And come on - it's a fact of life that we have all at some point been blamed for something that we didn't do.

Also malicious or not I think your daughter should have been told off for stabbing someone with her pencil - regardless of why it happened, even if it was a quick "You need to be more careful & not use your pencil in that way" Otherwise they (classmates) will all learn that it's ok to hurt others "because it was an accident."

This is the most stressful term for teachers, getting to know 30 different personalities of different backgrounds, abilities etc. Yeah "your daughter/the pencil incident may have been the straw that broke the camels back."

On the other hand if the shouting is constant & excessive it may just be that the member of staff needs to work on her behaviour management strategies & if this is the case, the school would have already picked up on this & will be addressing it.

I also wish if parents have a problem they go straight to the teacher to discuss it, I dont think that there is much to gain in asking on here as you don't always get the answers that you are looking for (as you have found out)

Nah, this isn't real.

alwayslookingforanswers · 26/09/2009 20:01

what's the lack of homework got to do with the TA????

Goblinchild · 26/09/2009 20:03

"thank you Lulumama for your suggestions, as for the certain other comments it leave little to the imagination as to what type of parents, individuals you are!!!!"

You see, when I read this sort of comment from a parent I consider to be a loon, I am relieved that she disapproves of me.

mumblechum · 26/09/2009 20:04

Why are there so many of these threads lately?

Whatever happened to badly behaved children being told off by the school and the school being backed up by the parents?

tutloltut · 26/09/2009 20:33

what are you ppl on!!

tutloltut · 26/09/2009 20:35

MaureenMLove · 26/09/2009 20:37

No, it's abuse on my ears, when I have to shout at teenagers to BE QUIET!!!!!!

alwayslookingforanswers · 26/09/2009 20:38

I'm no teacher - wouldn't pass the course and if I did I'd be fired for really shouting at the kids within a week

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 26/09/2009 20:39

^^^

wot always says.

Goblinchild · 26/09/2009 20:41

Hurrumph!
I'm a teacher

tutloltut · 26/09/2009 20:44

So the order of the day is to shout and scream humiliate the little darlings into submission

alwayslookingforanswers · 26/09/2009 20:45

5yrs living next to the school - never heard a teacher scream and shout.

Yes they've got cross, yes children have cried, but certainly haven't humiliated anyone.

tutloltut · 26/09/2009 20:46

No wonder there are soooooooooooo many f**k up individuals walking around on planet earth.

Caz10 · 26/09/2009 20:47

I take it the schools have just started back in England? Us jocks have been back for a while, so I couldn't figure out the flurry of "aren't teachers/schools/TAs CRAP?" threads for a while!

tutloltut · 26/09/2009 20:48

thought you said lived next to not lived in school
