What things do your kids think are a real treat that are really quite simple?

My kids today have been over joyed at a "camp" made from putting two sheets up either side of thier bunk bed to enclose the bottom bunk.

Also havng fresh bedding on thier beds they think is a treat even though it gets done every week.

Things like putting on music full blast and having a mad dance they think is great.

What things do your kids think are fab even though they are uite simple and sometimes every day sort of things?

"Painting" the outside wall of the house with brushes and water

(she is only 3 though)

My dd1 adores a jammies and dvd day, even though its usually becuase I cant be arsed doing anything else! And dd2 loves having a vert bubbly bath.

They both adore when I melt chocolate and let them dip whatever they like in...usually strawberries and marshmallows. When I say that I am making it they both run around screaming for joy!!??

Lol my boys love a bubbly bath even though all thier baths are bubbly!

I used to think it was a huge treat when my mum let me toast bread on the fire, i didn't realise it was because we had no electric but i saw it as the best treat!

DD loves a "party breakfast", which is basically a pretty plate with some nuts, raisins, dry cereal and whatnot arranged in a pattern, made up the night before on a tray with a small vase of flowers (dandelions will do).

I like party breakfasts too, because they buy me an extra half an hour in bed at the weekend!

My 2 love boiled eggs and toast - it's a big treat, probably because we don't have it very often (though now I've realised this, they're getting it a bit more often ).

My wee boy loves dried apricots. Yey! he shouts to the offer of an apricot (instead of maybe a packet of sweeties he has picked up in the shops).

Music on and dancing around the house and we do it most days too.

DD loves it when we go to the supermarket and she gets to choose a piece of fresh fish from the fishmonger section and go straight home and cook it for tea.

Popcorn and a dvd cuddled up on the couch.

Getting a bit of cheese to make a mess with cut up into little bits with a butter knife when i'm making something with cheese.

Sandwiches cut into triangles.

Mine still call Petit Filous 'special puddings' because we used to give them only plain yogurt and fruit. We have now been thoroughly worn down, but are still holding out on the crappy breakfast cereals.

Pyjama Day

Picnic in the garden (often when I have just cleaned the house I tell them to eat outside so that they can't mess it up again.

Playing a game on my iPhone

Popping bubble wrap

Getting to hold the dog's lead when we go for a walk

Family games nights - board games on Saturday night, with sweets and crisps

Ice cream cones dipped in hundreds and thousands

'Unhealthy teas' - something rubbishy from the freezer when I can't be bothered cooking

Making pancakes/baking

Having a 'sleepover' with each other - both sleeping in DS's 'big bed' (they are nearly 12 and 10, so not sure that one will last for much longer!)

Seeing any of their relatives - we're scattered all over the UK, so it's a real treat for them when we get together

Holding the hosepipe to water the garden. DS3 beams with pride.

My two go mad for those individually wrapped prunes that they think are sweets

Humous with cherry tomatoes

Making a big cardboard box / washing hanger thingy into a house

Paddling pool or just toy washing - bucket in garden with water and toys and lots of bubbly washing up liquid on cooler days

Decorating biscuits with writing icing

Picking veg in granny's garden (most eaten on spot)

Teddies' birthday (picnc with fake food or sometimes if v lucky some real food, on rug on floor and nursery rhyme music)

Oh and laying the table/ helping to hang up the washing. So grown up! They're all under five tho...

"Toast picnics" for tea, a plate of toast on a rug in the lounge with all manner of spreads to pick from.

Squirty cream on fresh fruit..

Using the hose to water the plants.

Eating peas out the garden, she is so excited about the apples and tomatoes but they're not ready yet. We also go fruit picking at a nearby farm, this is seen as a special treat.

Laying huge sheets of brown wrapping paper on the floor, taping them together and letting her go crazy with her pens. It makes a giant picture, though we only do this on very rainy days.

Home made fruit juice ice lolly's.

Feeding the cat.

Noodles.

Using the hoover.

Putting dirty clothes in the washing machine.
