Octo: I love your website!! Especially the storage sections - very clever ideas! I'd love one of your wardrobes, but afraid my house is too tiny and overcrowded already. But they look great!

JennyPenny22 · 18/06/2009 18:51

The nappy wardrobe does look fab! If I had the money then I would definatly get one! But the girls don't even have a normal wardrobe yet! Lol.

Do you know how much the breastfeeding covers will be?

I got more BBH today. Bit annoyed that the purple ones are discoloured on the outside!

Octo - got the wrap - Thank you sooo much!

4andnotout · 18/06/2009 19:45

Thought this might appeal to somebody. I've got a boy so no good to me unfortunately - it's lovely. Somebody was looking for nice girly wraps

twoclimbingboys · 18/06/2009 22:34

That is a lovely set!

I am selling more fleece wraps if anyone is interested:
a few rainbow stripe tots fleece wraps (size 3) - £4.50 each posted
large Wee Notions aqua fleece wrap with purple binding - £5.50 posted
toddler stacinator fleece wraps (1 blue green and the other turquoise with yellow moons & stars) - £5 each posted

50p off each item for multiple purchases! Also, have a little lambs pul wrap (worn once) I would throw in free with any of the above.

twoclimbingboys · 18/06/2009 22:35

4 - my vote is option B, as they are limited I would buy those first.

Octothechildherder · 18/06/2009 22:51

B

Octothechildherder · 18/06/2009 22:52

scotia - lush! (boys here tho!)

Scotia · 18/06/2009 23:11

I love it, but my youngest dd is 19 and I don't think she would go for it . Maybe I should buy it in case I have a granddaughter!! DD1 just got married 3 weeks ago

Can anybody advise me on decent wraps for nighttime? I'm using pocket nappies during the day, but they only last 3 or 4 hours maximum so am using sandies at night on 5 month old ds. Am I best to use fleece wraps? Or are there any other tricks and tips anyone would like to share

treedelivery · 19/06/2009 04:28

Hi everyone - am back form holiday. But have flu so not so good.

Will be back soon.

4andnotout · 19/06/2009 11:15

Tree-Hope your feeling better soon

Well i have gone for a combination of A&B, i ordered 2 more ltd edn (pink with white spots) as they are £11.59 at babybots, was gutted they had sold out of the baby blue spotty though as they were my 1st choice, and i put a thread on products about wanting the camo change bag and someone had one bnwt that i have bought so now im very happy

That wooly and dress set is lush, my mum has that dress pattern and has made dd3 one in peppermint embroidery anglais, dd4 is having one in pink embroidery anglais. Now she has the pattern she is going to make me loads and i can have plain one side and patterned the other as they are totally reversible. The best bit is that you can see their pretty nappies poking out the back!

OP posts:
littlelamb · 19/06/2009 12:19

I need to ask a question of you lovely ladies I normally use tots bots with a motherease wrap on ds without a problem, but he has a recurrent skin infection in his nappy and the GP told me yesterday to try disposables for a week or two while he's on antibiotics, her reasoning being that he'll get less hot in them. Well, he had one on last night and I woke up to a cot full of poo . Shall I just ignore the GP? I couldn't believe how chemically the nappies smelt and just how thin they are(I got pampers active fit as they were the only ones in the pharmacy). Or shall I try and put a wrap over the top and see if it helps? Do you think that the GP is right at all? I am desperate to get him back in his tots bots, I don't see how all the crap in a pampers will help his skin at all

treedelivery · 19/06/2009 12:34

I think dispo's are hotter.

I dunno how old ds is, but when dd had a corking nappy rash I put her in a very breathable nappy and no wrap - just changed her 2 hourly overnight. I wanted the nappy to dry by condensation as she wee'd. You could use a fleece to ensure the nappy can dry as it goes? DD wears a fleece at night and the nappy is basiclly touch dry after a 10 hours stint overnight.

Your poor ds. We gave dd calpol when she was miserable with it. Also lots of chamomile tea on the bum.

I hear over and over that egg white will cure all such ills - maybe try that?

4andnotout · 19/06/2009 12:49

I find disposables worse for nappy rash, i second every bit of advice Tree said

OP posts:
JennyPenny22 · 19/06/2009 13:03

Littlelamb, I would be tempted to ignore the GP but that is ust my opinion and somebody else might know better. Do you use fleece liners? If not, I would suggest using them to keep his skin dry, at least while he has bad skin. TBH I find that most people who have never used washable nappies don't actually know anything about them.

Has anybody here tried clwt twt nappies? I think they are my most absorbant nappy TBH and the only thing that will last 4 hours on mine. Bit bulky though. We are generally using these at home and then BBH when out which seems to work well. Only thing is, a lot of ours are nipper ones and I can never find a nippa!! LOL

Talia has also been using other bamboo nappies too but they are soaked very quickly. I think she needs size 2 really but they are too big for her! bamboozles, Lollipop bamboo etc last 2-3hours and then her baby grow is wet .

Going to do yet another strip wash today to triple check that build up isn't the problem. I just simply can't believe Talia can be a heavy wetter. She is 8 weeks now but the problems started weeks ago. But TBH I don't know what else it could be - even the bumhuggers leak at about 4hours.

treedelivery · 19/06/2009 13:09

yes fleece liners. Good advice.

I don't know what clwt twt nappies are

But I am ill Though temp sloly going down.
Can't believe Talia is 8 weeks already. Is it a fit problem? Is she long or skiny or round? Am finding iti's less good these days, as the rise is short and I make long bodied babes.

littlelamb · 19/06/2009 13:14

Thanks for all the advice I don't use fleece but will definately try it. I was a bit that it was in his medical notes on screen that he was in cloth- I felt a bit 'judged' by it iyswim, the GP clearly thought it was kind of my fault She's said it's most likely something called a staph infection, it's been ongoing since the beginning of the year

treedelivery · 19/06/2009 13:20

Staph can be a pita. Ask for it to be swabbed so if there is an active nasty it can be sorted. There are lots of threads on it if you search.

Fleece great - get thin short fleece of you can. The longer pile seems to hold fluid. If you are making your own that is. If you buy then it will be short I guess - cloth nappy tree usually have someone selling them in packs for not too much £.

I suppose you could give dispo a try - I did and so was able to show the family world it was not the washables as she still got rash. She's been in dispo for 2 weeks camping and got just as many little rashes.

littlelamb · 19/06/2009 13:26

I've never even heard of staph, and we've seen about 4 or 5 different people about it, each with a different diagnosis. She did take a swab, and the spots do seem to be less angry looking this morning so I think the cream and antibiotics must be working. I just didn't like that it was in his notes iyswim, I doubt they'd note it down if he was in disposables, but I'm well aware I am being far too oversensitive about it

treedelivery · 19/06/2009 13:30

I totally see what you mean - I'd feel the same.

JennyPenny22 · 19/06/2009 13:48

I just got one of my UD orders through! YAY! Got lots of cloth san pro, have got lots of different colours and they are minki topped so soooooo soft!

I also got some UD soy inserts (we were using pockets when I ordered! They are so slim fitting! And off course soft! Can use as boosters etc if we don't use them in pockets so not worried about that. Got Small medium and large so can use them in everything really. Wondering if they would be any good to use in night nappies? I do have some of the trifold inserts on their way too which should be perfect for night time/heavy wetters.

Also got an UD birth to potty budget nappy and its lovely. Can go a lot smaller than BG/BBOS as it has more poppers. It is fleece inner and outter with a hidden layer of PUL Going to try it on one of them later with one of our new inserts!

littlelamb - NOBODY in my area uses cloth nappies and TBH I feel a bit judged by it too by doctors, health visitors and just other mums. It seems very "odd" round here to be using cloth. DHs family think I am a complete fruit cake for using cloth and giving DD healthy food . I hate it but I am not going to stop using them. The more people who see me using them, the more likely they are to consider them IMO.

Tree: clwt twt I don't think that many people use them TBH but everybody that has, I have only ever heard good things. I have a few pretty patterns too but they are VERY well used and starting to get holes in the edges! Still work better than our other nappies though! Would like some more really, if I can find some more popppers or applix ones. I guess maybe when I sell my size 1s I will have the money for more size 2s!

I have some MAJOR toothache at the moment and it is agony!

Regarding Talias leaks - I don't think it is a fit problem, as the nappies are drenched by the end of it! And the lollipop ones fit perfectly, couldn't get any better fit I don't think but the just don't last long enough. I need some more night nappies for her. I have 2 WNNN (well one and another on the way) in medium and they fit already which is great as I didn't want to have to buy small NNs really. I also have a WNNL on the way which I am looking forward to trying as we have never had one before.
