Which would you choose?

Which tots bots? If tots pocket tots im split down the middle with them personally on my toddler so would maybe consider an even split or just get a trial number of each to make an informed decision

claireybee · 02/05/2009 17:15

I prefer 2 part nappies because I find them to be more bombproof and need changing less. Bumgenius are probably one of the best pockets there are though, and good if you have a wriggler who won't lie still for long enough for you to put a nappy and a wrap on

HeinzSight · 02/05/2009 17:19

Hi nappyzone, I've sent you a cat, but MN probably haven't had a chance to forward my message to you yet!

I really am in a bit of a kerfuffle

Heinz - get one of each, try them out. It's the only way.... But bloody hell, it's so confusing. DH was laughng at me yesterday as I just could NOT decide!

HeinzSight · 02/05/2009 17:21

I seem to be under the impression that Bum Genius are a firm favourite amongst mumsnetters.

I basically need something that is easy to use, can be tumble dried on colder days etc.

My DH has a paralysed arm and although he rarely changes nappies, on the odd occasion he does, it needs to be easy for him.

Marthasmama, I have spent HOURS today researching. I guess I'm in a bit of a panic because of all the good offers on which are ending on Monday!!!!!!!!

Nappyzoneisabeetrootrunner · 02/05/2009 17:26

Im with Martha - bg are popular with lots of users and have been out a fair while to be tried and tested hence the pocket tots are fairly new. No cat as yet .... I love a good nappy kerfluffle for a Saturday night

Nappyzoneisabeetrootrunner · 02/05/2009 17:29

The pocket outers of both would dry overnight on an airer as you wouldnt really want to tumbel the outers. The inserts can be tumbled if they are not dry - thebamboo insert of a tots might have some shrinkage to them - i have been washing mine, hanging them out then sticking in the airing cupboard overnight and that has been drying them nicely.

HeinzSight · 02/05/2009 17:34

So are bumgenius easy for my DH to use one handed? If I put the inner bit in first?

OP posts:
Nappyzoneisabeetrootrunner · 02/05/2009 17:36

provided you have stuffed them then yes sticking on a pocket it would be just like putting a sposie on.

Nappyzoneisabeetrootrunner · 02/05/2009 17:38

Think the CAT has been run over - if you need to you can contact me via my website using the contact me link on the left hand side of the front page ...

Should I take advantage of the discounts going around this weekend, in other words, if I don't, how likely are these discounts going to come up again?

Poor DH has been made redundant, 14 weeks ago! We've got baby number 4 due in Aug and need to save as much money as we can!!

KirstyJC · 02/05/2009 17:43

I have just bought 16 BumGenius and they are BRILLIANT! My DH is very anti-real nappies, so I am stuffing them when they are dry and just lining them up by the change mat. So simple, even he gets it right!

I have a couple of 2 parts (Little Lambs, v similar to Tots Bots) and the bamboo are very absorbant but take FOREVER to dry - seriously, 2 days including me getting v cross and chucking it in the tumble dryer! BumGenius also work well at night with 2 big inserts too (although DS only 6 months) and there is room for booster in future if needed.

Also BG only have one lot of velcro to fasten so it's easier when he wriggles and tries to turn over half way through a change.

If you go for BG, try www.lizziesrealnappies.co.uk as they have 15% off orders until Sunday so £12.54 each, cheapest I found...

Nappyzoneisabeetrootrunner · 02/05/2009 17:44

Well there are some good discounts out there - generally they are repeated annually at RNW at most online retailers. Sorry to hear about your DH

Josie1971 · 02/05/2009 17:57

I love my BG's! I bought 15 originally and this has been the perfect number for us (DS now 18 months). I tumble dry both the outer and inner when tight for time and they are as good as new. Both parts dry well on the airer overnight too.

I particularly love them because they go on exactly like a disposable. I'm not sure it would have been so easy to convince DH and DM to use them otherwise. I love that they are one size fits all too.

HeinzSight · 02/05/2009 18:23

I've just ordered 20 (!) from softbots, despite other mumsnetters saying they've stopped doing the discount deal, I'm wondering if I'm going to end up with an email saying they have indeed stopped discounting If the order goes through they work out at £11.80 each!!

OP posts:
KirstyJC · 02/05/2009 18:51

Doh!! That's even cheaper than the ones I bought earlier this week....better not let DH see this thread!!

You will love them! I got loads of different colours and they look so cute on the line drying.

HeinzSight · 02/05/2009 19:41

sorry Kirsty ! You wait, I bet they say they're out of stock or something!!!!!

Well, I've been using bg but couldn't resist some of the lovely new tots bots - all from the lovely nappyzone .

I don't have a bad word to say about the bg - I love them.

The tots bots look fantastic, I think their colours/designs are the best on the market. I don't think they feel as nice as bg (much stiffer, a bit plasticy sounding). They make dd2 (4 months) look like a little frog as the gusset must be wider, so not as nice fitting as bg. A plus point is the bamboo.

All in all, bg definitely win but I do love the few tots bots I have.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 02/05/2009 20:02

Tots Bots flexitots are brilliant -- one of the few that is night proof!

Marthasmama · 02/05/2009 20:03

I'm so glad I got a selection!

HeinzSight · 02/05/2009 20:09

NappyZone, I've got your email. Sadly I could get the contact link to work on your website Feel bad now, as I've gone ahead and ordered the nappies from softbots, sorry. Thank you SO much for your help though.

Nappyzoneisabeetrootrunner · 03/05/2009 08:50

no worries! I agree with ilovemydogandMrObama about the flexi tots - there the one i can guarantee will see us through the night. They just have not seemed to have taken off which is a shame.

Octothechildherder · 03/05/2009 11:01

I NEED a tots pocket!
