One lanolising should be ok overnight - can't see why not as she's so teeny. I have a couple of soakers that i use overnight mainly as we have longies/skirties for the day.

I'mwaiting for some woolly wash to come from a co-op that i've been on and then i intend to try them in the machine. I have a couple of well worn items that i'll put in first just to check ect, but DD has lots of wool clothes now so really can't be arsed to handwash them all!! Obviously i can't say if your woolies will be ok in washer, but if you've tried it ad all seemed ok, i'd probably give it a go.

Camomilla · 06/05/2009 22:50

jenny - I used the disana soaker a couple of times during the day after the 1st lanolising, used it overnight after 2 and was fine. guess it depends of how many hours your night is

when I use wool during the day I tend to use 2, but really depends on how the wool feels, sometimes one is fine.

has anyone got a coloured disana pull on yet?

JennyPenny22 · 06/05/2009 23:30

Do you think that washing with no powder or wool wash will be OK if something is not heavily soiled? I have a couple of things DD1 has worn once or twice but it didn't fit very well, and she wore some longies last night that fit fine but were not waterproof enough (i knew I was risking this when I put them on so not surprised). So would just like to give them a wash but don't have any wool wash. Have been told that normal washing powder will strip all the lanolin off.

DO you think a handwash cycle is best or a wool cycle? I have both on my machine. I used the handwash last time. Both are 40 degrees

Deemented - NOt sure if I am jus overtired and not reading properly or if it is because I am not a member but I couldn't find any for sale part of that forum? I saw you had recommended it on another thread for buying and selling?

thebluefoxategreensocks · 06/05/2009 23:55

Camomilla: Can you get already coloured Disana pull-on pants? I've dyed one of mine with kool aid and it looks lovely ( i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk108/rachins_photos/wool1.jpg ) ... but yet to be fully waterproof for Benjamin to use overnight - despite having been lanolised -5 times! However, saw someone earlier today saying that putting the Disana pants in the washing machine on 30 degree wool cycle would felt them and then they'd be OK, so must try that soon. As it's the only brand new wool I've ever bought, and I can't get it to work properly! All the secondhand Disana pants I've bought have been fab! lol So I prefer buying used I think!

Btw, anyone looking for small pocket nappies or small wraps? I've got the following that aren't being used and looking for a new home:

2 small Minki fleece pocket nappies:
i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk108/rachins_photos/nappies/smallminkis.jpg

small Nature Babies Stuffable pocket nappy:
i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk108/rachins_photos/nappies/naturebabystuffablesmall.jpg

small Popo wrap in funky print (same thing really as ME Rikki) and a size 1 Tots Bots wrap:
i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk108/rachins_photos/nappies/naturebabystuffablesmall.jpg

newborn sized unbranded poppered wrap (looks brand new):
i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk108/rachins_photos/nappies/whitenewbornwrap.jpg

Also have a newborn sized Stacinator So Simple wrap - yellow PUL outer with white fleece cuffs.

If anyone wants a real bargain, they can have all of the above for only £14 including postage! Or happy to sell the items on their own - just wanting to clear out what isn't being used!

swampster · 06/05/2009 23:56

You have to have a million posts on CNA before you are admitted to the hallowed portals of buying and selling [bitter]

thebluefoxategreensocks · 07/05/2009 00:05

LOL Swampster! I've not joined yet, so guess I'll never get to see the treasures bought and sold there!

JennyPenny22 · 07/05/2009 00:11

I don't think I will bother with CNA then TBH. CNT is good enough for me and I use the classifieds on there a lot.

Rachel - You have got me tempted now! ARGH! I have too many nappies! But the minkis look great and I was only asking on CNT about night nappies for newborns. BUT I can't really afford it so I am going to see how we go. I am sure you will sell it quickly, but if you don't then let me know! Do you know how the minkis come up on newborns?

thebluefoxategreensocks · 07/05/2009 00:12

then again, sometimes you get better bargains by finding nappies on boards that don't actually specialise in nappies! Such as Benjamin's lovely new (to us) Holden's Landing Bedbug that came in the post today:
i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk108/rachins_photos/benjbedbug.jpg
it's beautiful soft velour on both outside and inside, and velour topped inserts (haven't worked out if they're organic cotton velour or bamboo velour - but scrummy all the same! ) and cute zebra appliques to the front!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 07/05/2009 00:15

JennyPenny22: the Minkis are a fairly good fit for newborns, though probably fit slightly better once they've put on a few pounds! Would also depend on what kind of inserts you used (these don't come with any). I wasn't sure whether to keep them or not, but sold off all my stash of Minki pockets (ahd them in all sizes) since we're using fitteds and wool for nights, so thought these could go too.

JennyPenny22 · 07/05/2009 00:21

Rachel, don't keep them for me, but I might be tempted by them. I am going to try wool first and see what we think of that as we might be better off buying another wool soaker TBH. I am sure you will sell the bundle pretty quick at that price, but if you don't then let me know.

LOVE the bedbug! Is it a fitted nappy? as in, does it need a wrap? Just out of interest! What are you using at night now? I take it you sorted out your leaking problems in the end (I know that was ages ago, just can't remember the outcome!)

swampster · 07/05/2009 00:29

I didn't mean to put anyone off CNA - it is a really nice place! And it is full of hard-core clothies.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 07/05/2009 00:30

Yes, Bedbugs are fitted nappies - and are very expensive new (from USA). But managed to get this one at a bargain price - and also have another one that I swapped with someone else. So I have the 2 Bedbugs for nights and 4 Baby Bufters. Don't really find the Baby Bufters that exciting, and they're very bulky/stiff (egyptian cotton towelling) but they're not fleece lined, and are very absorbant - so we don't get any leaks with them, which is the main point! They've got cute cotton print outers on top, but just wish they were flexible and comfy looking like the UDNN nappies are! But seems we need cotton to absorb quickly. I tried a hemp fitted nappy (Mamabless) the other night for part of the night and it was too slow to absorb (even with no fleece inside) and the urine just ran out the side of his legs!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 07/05/2009 00:38

I think we mums with newborns should be in bed! LOL

Goodnight! x

JennyPenny22 · 07/05/2009 00:47

yes, I am off there too Rachel! Goodnight!

Deemented · 07/05/2009 07:32

The buy and sell policy on CNA is there to protect everyone, really. Being honest, i'd be less likely to buy from a seller with only a few posts on a forum as i'd be worried they would be pulling a fast one - but that might just be down to the fact that i don't trust anyone! - but it is worth perservering with as you get access to co-ops where you can get loads of money off items! Co-ops are run every month near enough and i've recently got somegorgeous fluff and clothes ect.

Buy British Month is open to everyone though, reguardless of length of membership.

Camomilla · 07/05/2009 08:52

rachel, I remember you were going to dye your disana, looks so cute! but I was just checkig out twinkle's new site the other day, and saw on their new products both coloured disana and pink airflow... but if noone got any, then I assume they're not in stock yet as I can't seem to be able to order them...

afterglow · 07/05/2009 09:51

I have machine-washed my wool and it's been ok. The thing you have to watch is not going straight from a hot wash to a cool rinse, as it's changes in temperature that shrink wool. Having said that, I handwashed last time as I'm nt convinced my super-gentle machine cycle was getting the smell out.

ceb80 · 07/05/2009 10:45

Thanks everyone for your advice, sorry I sloped off, took the opportunity to get my head down while the little man slept (don't know how anyone copes with more than one child!)
Camomilla, might be interested in a couple (not 10!) of bamboo Sandys how much do you want for them?

JennyPenny22 · 07/05/2009 13:56

I have some wollies in the machine as we speak! Will see how they go!

I also re lanolised Elousie's Disana soaker and lanloised Talias brand new soaker that I bought when I was pregnant from that lady on UKPL - the one that was linked to on here? It is GORGEOUS! I just hope it fits!

We are trying Little lambs softies today which so far is going really well. They are so cosy! I think I actually prefer them to sandys - now that I have loads of XS sandys! Lol. They are not as absorbant, although I took the booster out to make it slim fitting. But they are absorbant enough for daytime on a new baby as she is pooing so often that she doesn't get the chance to soak them.

Just wanted to recommend rapeseed oil for anybody who is having problems with dry skin or similar. We had tried olive oil, grapeseed oil, almond oil etc but nothing was even making a difference - litterally skin falling off everywhere (on Talia this is). Where as one day of rapeseed oil, which was cheap enough - about £1.50 for a HUGE bottle in sainsburys.

Camomilla · 07/05/2009 14:12

ceb, I'd like £5 posted each, they're in EEEUC, but we're only using ittis/BBSS now or MEOS on wool days so they've been sitting there for months and months.... can't believe I'm using only 2nd hand nappies, and I have all those brand new ones!

ceb80 · 07/05/2009 14:21

Camomilla can I just have 1 to try as already have some regular Sandys in Small and then if I get on with them I can get more!
email is cecole @ hotmail. co. uk

Camomilla · 07/05/2009 14:27

will email you

rusmum · 07/05/2009 16:59

my printer is fixed- is it too late do you think to send for my free little lamb?

thebluefoxategreensocks · 07/05/2009 17:37

I think the offer was on till the 9th, tho possibly with limited quantities. Always worth trying!

swampster: I've found a used Sugarpeas wool soaker!!!! Don't know how perfect it is, but for only 1 quid...can't but get it to try out!
