i need to do 1000 words to reach my target for today then if i dont do it i will be embarrassed and will have to admit it.

I know it seems a bit of a paltry amount compared to some of u, but i so struggle with getting critical analysis into the damn essay.

(FECK got to go shopping at some point today- can see excessive use of cursing thread coming up!)

I met my targets for yesterday, 3 essays handed in.

Target today is 2500 on Beckett, have done 750 so far so a lonnnnnng way to go...

I'm still procrastinating which i have now googled and am reading of my fear of failure and perfectionism (sounds about right)

Lalala am saddo student working painfully late when actually essay is not due in until Wednesday but I can't be bothered with work anymore so I want to finish it asap.

Long story short 3000 words of 5000 word Beckett essay done. In fact I suspect more as it still all just hand written and I will need to put more crit stuff into it.

Smurfgirl, I don't know what I find more shocking, you still working at this hour or the fact that you have managed to count the words of such long handwritten essay

I have 2000 words to write and can't imagine that being a struggle because I have a lot left to say. Then it needs typing up and editing.

Short term goal is 1000 words before lunch.

Smurfgirl, I imagined you counting word by word and thought, no wonder she is still around being past midnight!

I feel like a proper student as well, cup-a-soup, pitta and a yog because I have no food in the house and cannot even be bothered to walk to the shop to buy anything!

I just want to say a big thank you to you all for providing me with inspiration each time I sneakily logged on to mumsnet today whilst trying to finish an assignment! Its all done now (thank god) but i have been procrastinating like a mad eejit for the past few days now ... you know the usual excuses - "ooh, best clean the toilet before I start", "you know, this kitchen floor could really do with a good scrub" etc etc

Its so comforting to know that there are others out there who leave things till the last minute like me - i suppose i just imagine all the others on my (open Uni) course are swotting like mad and doing essays well ahead of cut-off dates.
