Grrl hope your thrush clears up soon....nasty!

Still no sign of chicken pox chez luckymummy!
DD1 seems to have regressed from not needing her daytime nap to now sleeping for between 1 and 3 hrs a day, then 12-13 hrs at night??!

She's a bit snotty but no other symptoms. I'm hoping we have escaped this time. I don't mind them getting it, just not on birthday party weekend and before our hols!

DD2 took 3 steps today on her own!!! .

All fairly quiet otherwise.

luckymummy74 · 28/04/2009 20:03

OMG and we just had the google maps van in our road!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was cleaning DD1's teeth when I saw what looked like a massive camera on a street light, when I looked out, it was attached to a car with the google logo on it!!

Damn....wish I'd done the garden!!!

Chaotica · 28/04/2009 21:58

Evening, All

Wow LM - you're being watched! I don't think we're on there yet (we live in too much of a backwater - at least I think we do).

Hope the new job is going well, Grrrl. (Sorry to hear about the other stuff - not pleasant at all.)

I was late to work today (and kept 20 people waiting) because of a dirty nappy... (Not that I could tell them that.) I guess that's what life will be like for the next 17 years... (although I hope DS will be out of nappies by then!).

Tracyface - hope Isaac gets through the chicken pox soon.

Hi Ladies

Not much to report here. We've just been making the best of the good weather while I'm not at work. (DS is very cute and goes on slides upwards of 40 times if given the chance - he even says 'lide' half in his sleep to protest at being taken away from one.) Yesterday the DCs exhausted each other chasing in circles around a tree. (I just sat and watched.)

We have had some freak hailstorms though (there was a couple of cm of ice on the ground when we went for a walk (and nothing near our house )). Even DD was mildly freaked. (I was really freaked out when our CM announced that it was 'tornado weather' ... (She's good on what to do in earthquakes too. Kind of unusual to have a CM who knows these things - don't know whether Ofsted would give her higher marks )

luckymummy74 · 01/05/2009 22:35

Hi ladies...

My little munchkin was one yesterday! I've temporarily re-opened my profile and put some photos on there of her on her birthday.

Been pretty busy getting stuff ready for 2 parties this weekend, one for DD1's friends as she is 3 when we are on holiday, and a family one for both of them Sunday...busu busy busy!!

Enjoy the nice weather!!

Hi All

Hey LM - your girls are really cute. Nice looking cake as well. Happy birthday to both your DDs.

(Been out playing in the garden, but I must go and do some work while DS naps )

katedan · 02/05/2009 22:24

Hi Ladies,

Sorry very bad at keeping up with this thread, we moved the gilrs into beds last week and it has been a nightmare!!! we have had to remove all the furniture from their room as DH found they had climes on the changing table and were dancing on the first night. It still takes them nealy an hour to go to sleep with the girls swapping/sharing beds and treatingt the whole thing like a slumber party! thanks to bunny clock they now at least stay in bed in the morning (well they have the last two mornings!!! so fingers cross that lasts)

hope you are enjoying the nice weather

K

Kaybeeand2boys · 04/05/2009 09:59

Hi everyone
i havent been keeping up with the thread much latel
We have just this weeked moved into a smaller house, and the boys are now sharing a room. We were expecting the worst as they're not goood sleepers but last night went ok. DS2 woke up a few times but DS1 slept through it thank god! They did get up earlier than I'd like though, what's the bunny clock you mentioned Katedan????

DS2 turned 1 last week, and it just seems like all of a sudden he is a little boy and not a baby any more! He started walking about a month ago, and is now saying some words, it's so cute, but scary at the same time.
Happy Birthday to your DD's LM they are very cute.

Chaotica · 06/05/2009 09:20

Hi All

Happy birthday to your DS2, Kaybee. I hope the house is nice (and that you or your DH has a job now - I seem to remember that you were looking).

Your girls seem like quite a handful, Katedan. I hope the transfer to beds is going OK. We had to childproof dd's room when she moved to a bed, but not take the furniture out!

Eugh. I feel ill and I have the DCs all day. I hope I can muster enough energy to get myself off the sofa and take them out or they'll explode. (DS keeps saying 'slide' which I take to be some kind of hint...) I want my bed! [sorry for myself emoticon]

luckymummy74 · 07/05/2009 16:23

Quick post ans run....we go on hols tomorrow for 2 weeks (Cornwall) so see you all soon...

Chaotica · 09/05/2009 00:18

Have fun, LM!

JustKeepSwimming · 09/05/2009 20:38

Hello everyone! sorry not been on in ages.
Loads has been happening here, and not in a good way.

  • burglary, with me upstairs, just gone to bed (Dh away), heard a noise, by the time i got downstairs they had gone, with my 2 laptops (old one and new one).
boys slept through it all, including the police storming up the stairs into their bedroom! insurance is paying out and sending me a new replacement laptop (on a borrowed one atm) plus vouchers instead of the old one

and then....H (ds2 15mo) started fitting. he had 2 convulsive seizures, then lots of 'absences'. he has had in very quick time all sorts of tests. including an EEG and an MRI, both of which showed abnormal activity/areas
e has started on epilepsy drugs which will hopefully work ok.
Great Ormond Street has been sent his test results which they will review on Tues so we may hear more.
(hopefully nothing too drastic, had enough excitement to last me ages in the last few weeks!).

so we are a bit shell-shocked, getting lots of help on MN (yey for MN!) and sure i will be asking for more help as time goes on.

anyway, i have been popping in read every now and then but apologies for rubbish attendance!

LM - hope you are having fun!

Chaotica · 09/05/2009 22:43

Hi All ,

Had a great day taking the DCs to a farm today (one of the ones with rabbits and guinea pigs and peacocks and playgrounds as well). DS surprised me by managing to walk almost 2 miles - which is good as we have a sponsored walk next week (we have to try to walk a mile).

JKS - so sorry to hear about your burglary (especially when you were in - it's happened to me and it's not nice at all). And even more sorry to hear about DS2. That must be so frightening for all of you. I'm glad to hear he's referred to GSOH - at least you know he has very good care. Was there never any indication of epilepsy before now? (I don't know anything about epilepsy, so I don't know how ordinary that is.) Sending you a very un-MN hug and I hope the drugs work for H soon.

Jewelsandgems · 14/05/2009 19:31

Well hello there!

Sorry not posted for ages, but have been away on holiday, just to visit our family in London and ended up staying much longer than expected - had a great time.

JKS that really is shit about the burglary, if that happened to me I would be thinking about moving out - but at least it wasn't an aggrivated burglary with guns and stuff, so that is one saving grace.

Izzy is talking really well too, says 'reya' for Freya and other silly stuff. Just seems that as she approcahes the 18 month mark, she is galloping forward and leaving her babydom behind. Her potty training is also going really well.

Have a great holiday LM, we are off again in a few weekends for the ball I always attend, and then when we come back we are off on holiday again. So busy!

I am also back to the tanning, I am sure you will be glad to hear. Yes, sat here, st trop slapped on, looking yucky, smelling even worse. But, will look golden tomorrow (in readyness for the heavy rain forcast)

So, I am going to love you and leave you, speak soon.

tracyface · 14/05/2009 19:51

Hi everyone, Well both Melissa and Isaac over chicken pox now so back to relative normal life with toddlers.

Isaac still not walking and seems very reluctant if I hold my hands out to him he just shakes his head and sits down - its very funny. Having his eyes tested with at the hospital on Friday as he seems to have something strange going on - cant put my finger on it but sort of a squint but not all the time. Its almost as if he is light sensitive. Lets hope they can sort it out.

Melissa has her two year check monday but I dont have anything to worry about with her - she is doing fine.

Tantrums have been a lot fewer lately and no throwing up so thats a major improvement I hope that little phase may have passed.

Still planning wedding stuff and loads to do yet but plodding on and trying to enjoy it rather than get stressed.

Oh going for his snip saturday poor love, so will have to do lots of looking after him over the weekend.

Hope everyone has better news and things are ok for you all x

Jewelsandgems · 16/05/2009 21:44

Hi tracey hope Isaac's eyes are fine and that sounds terribly cute with him shaking his head when you ask him to walk - he'll be up and at it before you know it. I now have the problem that Izzy wants to be comtinually walking, and collecting stones. Honastly, just to get to our front door, takes forever and she collects at least 20 stones (and usually trips over at least once too)

I am watching eurovision. I am thinking our entry definately has no chance at all. I am slathered in fake tan. [yuk emoticon]

Also, was thinking the other day whatever happened to cazwa?

Off to buy Freya ballet outfit tomorrow, she has started a class and loves it. Need leotard, ballet shoes, tap shoes, tights, socks and ballet voile skirt. Wish me luck!

Chaotica · 16/05/2009 22:29

Evening, Ladies

at all these holidays. I've just been working too much.

Isaac sounds really cute, Tracyface. Neither of mine really got into walking until 14m (and today Connor walked a mile (almost) and then rushed around a playground for an hour after). He takes an age to get anyway though - I sympathise, Jewels.

LOL at Jewels' overactive imagination (I've been watching too much of The Wire - I think men with guns really will burst into my house ) ...Nice tan, BTW.

Glad to hear there are fewer tantrums these days. Both mine have colds so we have a few around here (and DD has started hurling things in anger - but I think that's just because she's sick).

What did happen to Cazwa? And Grrrl - if you're lurking -- hello too

GoodGrrrlGoneBad · 19/05/2009 07:31

Hello!

JKS- that's awful, glad you're all ok though.

Hope you're all good.

Had some bad news here- step MIL has been diagnosed with a brain tumour. Apparently she had one before we knew her also. Not really sure what's happening.

Also got issues with a frind at the moment- see my thread in 'relationships'

Sooooooo tired. Up 4 times with Dyl.

Chaotica · 21/05/2009 12:31

Hi all

Hope everyone is coping enjoying life.

(Don't have time to post right now toddlers tugging at trousers but I hope I'll be back later.)

Jewelsandgems · 21/05/2009 14:20

Good afternoon ladies

That is a shitter of a problem grrrl. But I am totally with you, I could not continue a friendship in that case. Unless - as other posters suggest - you just say you don't want to hear about it.

Well I have major PMT and really shouted at Izzy the other day. She was trying to grab my benetint and I kept saying no, and then somehow she did get it, and got the lid off. I screamed at her (there was benetint everywhere, it looked like a bloodbath) and then I pushed her from the room - honastly, I think if she had been with me any longer in that room I may have smacked her bottom - so she literallt ran from the room, sobbing, into her room where she calmed herself my sniffing her blankets. I am such a cow. Everytime I think if the incident, I feel so angry with myself for getting like that over a bottle of blusher. I have never behaved that way, and I could tell she was scared. I think I win the crap mum award

Chaotica · 22/05/2009 00:25

Evening all

I'm with you too, Grrrl (on the other thread that is). I think I'd say what I think of what your 'friend' is doing. (How on earth does she have time when she has a young child?)

Don't beat yourself up about the shouting, Jewels. We all do it sometimes, and it's hardest (I think) between about 14m-2.3 when the DCs just don't listen. (PMT is a bitch too.) I've shouted at DS a couple of times (usually when he's doing something dangerous like messing with something electrical/sharp/the cooker etc) even though I manage to have far more patience than I did first time round (poor DD ). But he makes me feel awful when he bursts into tears . Must go to bed now before I upset myself too .

Will try not to be shouty mum in the morning.

JustKeepSwimming · 23/05/2009 11:36

Jewels - been there, done that, felt bad too. but they realise we are human too and they forgive and forget quicker than we do too!

Grrl - i couldn't see the friend in the same way at all after knowing that.
and poor MIL, how is she?

well we have had a tough couple of weeks with DS2's fits, so lots of phone calls yesterday and we have started the change in drugs from epilim to keppra.
fingers so tightly crossed it hurts that the keppra works!

otherwise, ds1 is doing brilliantly, chatting away, imagining all sorts of games, oh and had his 3rd birthday last week
loved it, and we managed not to buy him too much, have a balance bike we haven't gicen him yet as he got a scooter from PIL which he's busy 'practising' all the time

ope everyone coping ok, and enjoying the beginning of summer!

Chaotica · 25/05/2009 00:01

Sorry to hear about your MIL too, Grrrl.

Chaotica · 25/05/2009 00:04

JKS - Hope the keppra works for your DS2. How is he coping with it all? Is he too young to really understand anything yet? I hope he's not suffering too much (excuse my total ignorance of epilepsy if I put my foot in it as well - I mean well).

JustKeepSwimming · 25/05/2009 06:39

Thanks Chaotica!
tbh i don't think he has a clue!
neither does ds1 - he is totally oblivious when ds2 fits (courtesy of Handy Manny & Mickey Mouse ).

ds2 has had some grumpy days when he can't get comfy in his own skin - then we were told it's normal to get headaches afterwards (why hadn't anyone told us that????) so some neurofen soon sorted him out.

yesterday (and i hope it's not a blip) he had no fits or seizures or any sort and we both noticed how much more alert and lively he was - think his gradual lethargy & 'being chilled' crept up on us - he was like a slithery eel getting his pjs on last night - did make us laugh as he's normally so tired he's easy to change...
