Clippers for us - never had any accidents

angelene · 26/03/2009 15:51

I just bit them, much easier (and nicer ).

Bloody devil's own job trying to persuade her to let me cut them now she's 3.5 though.

I never cut her nails. DP always bit them

Stretch · 26/03/2009 15:58

I bite them. The baby clippers are useless IMO.

angelene · 26/03/2009 15:58

All those of you who say that the baby is so cute you could eat them, now's your chance!

nappyaddict · 26/03/2009 16:00

Biting them gives them jagged edges though.

My sister always bit her kids nails.

I find scissors the easiest way.

DH uses the tiny clippers that you can buy in boots.

I think it's just a matter of what you find easiest really. Have a go at each method and see which is best for you.

nappyaddict · 26/03/2009 16:09

I'm not really bothered about which people think is easiest - that's personal preference i think. I'm really wanting to know which ones don't leave jagged edges.

normal nail scissors here, clippers were useless. scissors leave a smoother edge imo

FrannyandZooey · 26/03/2009 18:46

clippers - never understood the biting thing
how can you get them really short and not jagged like that?

ohdearwhatamess · 26/03/2009 18:47

normal scissors here

jazzandh · 26/03/2009 19:10

nail file here. recommended by someone and works a treat.

morningpaper · 26/03/2009 19:11

I've always just used emery boards - too scared of cutting tiny fingers

EffiePerine · 26/03/2009 19:15

clippers - but I have sliced the odd finger

Teeth when really tiny. Clippers after 2 months or so. (Baby ones) I prefer the ones which are mini versions of adult clippers, not the ones you can buy from chemists on a thumb ring.

Nail cutting when asleep for my wriggly DS!

EffiePerine · 26/03/2009 19:32

yes, the thumb ring ones are ridiculous, I nearly cut my own finger using them.

wuglet · 26/03/2009 19:35
