4andnotout · 04/04/2009 08:52

Morning all
The weather is lovely here this morning so was hanging the nappies out by 7.30 as it is dp's turn for a lie in, i will have one tommorow instead.
Waiting for my fluffy post this morning, if it comes today that is!
Still loving the bbh's, so far i have 5 (well a couple of them i only paid for yesterday so they wont be here for a while) and i think i need a few more
Im asking £4.50 posted for my bumhuggers do you think that is fair? The postage will be around £1.20 so i thought £3ish for the actual nappy was ok? I just need to get rid before dp starts asking questions

TheNatty · 04/04/2009 08:58

sounds fair 4

my Bumhugggers wont be here till end of next week at earliest the woman said there is a backlog. such a shame, ive got to go out and buy nappies for thomas at night now, i CAN put him in one of ellens, boostered up it does work, but all the wraps are a bit tight and he complains he is uncomfortable.

im waiting on a number of things in post, hope something comes today lol

Hi Ladies...

just popping on now i found you all again!!!

Can't remember who wanted the swim nappies but here are the pics of the 2 i have found have more as well when i can get into the boxes.

Pink is Medium Blue is Small

soon2befamilyof4 · 04/04/2009 09:47

LES - It might have been me you were thinking off, I was asking what everybody uses for swim nappies but I don't actually need any - was just seeing what everybody else uses and finds works. Not sure though - somebody else might want them!

Have got 3 parcels to send off of fluffy post today. I hope something comes through the post for me in return!

Still no news on the woman who said she wanted my WNNN. I might keep it though TBH for a bit longer, till I have enough UDNNs

nappyzonecannotcycleuphill · 04/04/2009 10:15

Just thought id say hello so i can wear my ears . DH has mentioned perhaps potty training ds over easter which makes me - i am also thnking why spoil the easter hols lol! Is it wrong to delay ds because i want him to finally get some wear out of his wool shorties this yr and frolic round the garden in his funky nappies?

thebluefoxategreensocks · 04/04/2009 10:20

soon: oooh dear! That's awful! Can't imagine what it could be! As surely the fabrics are all the same, and as you say, made by same person/same pattern! That is really puzzling! I had washed it 4 times I think - in Surcare non-bio - no fabric softeners or anything nasty! Do keep me posted on it though - hopefully it's a one-off and won't happen again! Especially as you've been having such success with the other one you have.

Re: telling them apart...I'm assuming yours was made with aplix, and the one I sent you has orange velcro? Or did yours have colours touch tape too?

So far, since stopping the fleece lined nappies, I'm happy to say we've not had anymore leaks! (And he's actually sleeping much better too!!! )I wasn't sure yesterday if Benjamin was starting to get a bit of rash from feeling damp all night, but his skin seems OK today, so hopefully nothing to worry about.

TheNatty · 04/04/2009 10:33

nappyzone
my 2 year old DD has been showing signs of potty training for about 2 months, (being that she keeps taking her nappies off and demanding potty)
im leaving it to the summer tho, 1. so she can get some wear out of her nappies and 2. its much easier in the summer as they can run about naked and u dont worry about being cold.

tell ur hubby u'd rather wait till the summer, or if ur DS actually asks to be trained.

totally get what u mean tho

nappyzonecannotcycleuphill · 04/04/2009 10:44

Natty he hasnt actually asked as he is oly starting to talk though when we get potty out he will perform on it and on the mini loo seat - also we go away a week in august at beginning and throught it would be good to get him trained b4 we go but now i am thinknig if we did the whole hol will be overshadowed with random demands of mummy wee wee toilet - Jersey with a toilet demanding toddler is surely a bad idea? I am such a wet lettuce

nappyzonecannotcycleuphill · 04/04/2009 10:45

sorry about my random spelling

TheNatty · 04/04/2009 10:51

oh i know!
ive got a DS who has only trained a few months ago, so he isnt hugely reliable, and was a late trainer anyway (being nearly 3)
so i dont much fancy 2 of them demanding the toilet at the same time.. whilst being 7 months pregnant.. no thanks..
so i will wait til baby born and DH is home for the summer

i agree holiday with a just trained toddler is no fun.
id wait till he can tell u b4 he needs to go, its one thing performing on cue, but then u will have to remind him to go every half hour!
thats in my experiance with my son anyway

rusmum · 04/04/2009 11:01

can i use bold 2 in 1 then??? seems to make sense as go crunchy on line!!

I may be using too much powder- will try this!!!

Also anyone want to buy my fleece?? Not geting on with it!

TheNatty · 04/04/2009 11:06

rusmum i wouldnt, its got fabric softner in it, which ur not supposed to use on cloth nappies.

but ask soon she is the expert she uses it on hers

soon2befamilyof4 · 04/04/2009 11:25

yes - I am 100% sure you can use bold 2in1. I looked into it a lot before I tried it as I know fabric conditioner in general is a big no no. Basically, it is a clay based fabric conditioner which is fine to use on nappies, towels etc. It won't clog the nappies up like if you say used comfort. BUT only the tablets though, not the 2in1 liquids. They smell nice, you only need one tablet and it makes them nice and soft. Hasn't made any issues with our nappies. We have never had a problem with absorbancy - except with the UDNN last night but I had never washed it myself so couldn't have been related to my washing. Honestly, give it a go and see. The worst that could happen is that you didn't get on with it but you could just wash it out. Even the nasty fabric conditions that clog the nappies and stop them absorbing, can still be washed out, so certianly wouldn;t ruin anything. But honestly, bold 2in1 is fine.

If you are on cloth nappy tree, I think bold 2in1 comes up quite a lot. Somebody on there actually went to the trouble of contacting bold HQ though as well and got a lot of info.

TheNatty · 04/04/2009 11:32

thats really interesting soon, i never knew that.
unfortuantly ellen has very sensitive skin so a no no for me, as even i am allergic to bold!
but if new baby has no skin problems i may well switch once ellen has trained this summer.

nappyzonecannotcycleuphill · 04/04/2009 12:14

really? i didnt know that - i am sceptical.... even with pockets? i have smell issues at the moment with mine and have just ben trialing some tots potion (eco washing powder) they have produced - it is smell less and 2 washes on so are my nappies - my inserts dont seem as bright but they defineitly dont smell like a butchers van anymore

treedelivery · 04/04/2009 14:20

Hello all!

Hope all fluffy post has arrived as expected!

DD1 [4 1/2] had a dry night. Wee ran out of her nappies so just as well. She woke at 10 fr a poo [thankfully, wouldn't fancy finding that!] so maybe this is it!? Would be great to not have to buy her nappies as they cost a bit. She flat refuses a fluffle because baby wears them.

Second idea of not traing till back off holiday. dd1 trained late which was great - she was just turning 3 so her bladder held a fair bit and she could get round town or whatever without the dreaded loo finding nightmare!

TheNatty · 04/04/2009 19:49

bugger!
i put the nappies in with the wet bedding (DS wet the bed) and put fabric softner in without thinking.

how many rinses/washes do u think u should do to de clog them?

im so stupid sometimes..

treedelivery · 04/04/2009 20:14

So easily done though.

No experience myself - but maybe some white vinegar in the wash would help to strip it out of them too?

TheNatty · 04/04/2009 20:43

ive stuck it on and extra cold rinse, then a quick wash with no powder.
i have got enough clean and dry from last load, so will just use these ones at home until they become un-clogged lol.
bugger tho, so annoying, its like having new ones again with all the prewashing lol.
least it wasnt a night nappy tho

treedelivery · 04/04/2009 22:09

Green Jelly have discounts on thirsties and blueberry onesize. yay! Not an awful lot but how much encouragement do we need?

Does anyone have one of those lionheart bears that have a heartbeat they want to sell me? More nappy funds for you!!

Hi everyone,
Have been away for ages as had DS rather unexpectedly at 36+2 which involved a 3 day stay in hospital rather than the blissful homebirth I had planned
All well now though, unfortunately he is so tiny that have not had a chance to use my nappies yet as even the smallest ones swamp him!
So many posts to catch up on too, you ladies talk too much!
