soon: I've already swapped 1 UDNN for a Bed Bug and have 2 other people who are asking about the other one. So will let you know if it remains available! Was hoping for £12 inc postage for the nappy - but as I say, might have a partial swap for the only remaining one. Will keep you posted though!

tree: I started crocheting a tiny pair of longies, in the hope it would start labour off! We'll see if it works - though I need to clean my bedroom and put away laundry more than do crocheting right now!

treedelivery · 28/03/2009 15:59

Keep crocheting. Better for the labour chakra's dontchaknow.

Someone is coming to view my lovely little mx-5. Cant jusitify it now have 2 dc's and dh pay cut, plus our golf is too old and small.

Very sad to be selling it though, last throws of single carefree life gone. dd1 and i had many a fun jaunt in it too. sigh

soon2befamilyof4 · 28/03/2009 16:07

Rachel - When are you due? I am praying my baby comes in the easter holidays as it makes things soo much easier all round but I am due the week after! Basically, I have far from ideal childcare arrangements if it is in school time but if I have it in the hols, my older sister is a teacher so will be around, my lil sis is at uni and will be around (and would stay at our house if we asked her to) AND my mum would be around the whole time! So would be a lovely time to have it! Have you tried clary sage oil? That is meant to be good to get things going, although didn't work for me last time, but it can't do any harm. Let me know if you want details! Or go for a long walk or even a jog if you feel up to it!

Oh and I will def take your UD if nobody else wants it! I love mine, although have only used it once! I haven't had that with the WNNN - probably because I had to add so much stuffing it was really bulky! I hate bulky bums!

Got some more wool on the way so keeping fingers crossed somthing will fit DD! Have got gorgeous longies for the newborn that I am really looking forward to using! Just hoping it isn't too warm by the time we get into them!

Don't suppose anybody knows what french soy is like on the radiator? I usually keep the nappies away from the heaters but it feels like it would be ok and still stay soft? We have our heating on at the mo and on the radiator we might be able to get the UD dry in one day but been to scared to risk it so far!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 28/03/2009 17:19

soon: Baby is due this coming Wednesday, but Benjamin was 5 days early, so I half expected this baby to be here by now! Oh well, will let everyone know when it does come!

And yes, I'll be sure to let you know about the UD if the others don't want it!

Well, I've just splurged and bought my first Itti Bitt D'lish (2nd hand of course!)! Lovely bright yellow and comes with spare inserts too....all for the grand sum of £9 - that's good, isn't it?! I've got 3 classic ones (non-fluffy) (with missing/incomplete/damaged inserts, so the spare insert will be useful for them too!). So, should a medium fit quite soon for a newborn?

treedelivery · 28/03/2009 17:22

We'e still in size 1 itti at 9 weeks, and about 10 1/2 pounds. Not bad, I only expected it to do 4-6 weeks! It's red and a source of deep joy to me. Sigh. Leaked like a bugger for first 2 weeks though.

soon2befamilyof4 · 28/03/2009 19:50

I think I am going to be selling a yellow wonderworks pocket if anybody is interested? It has only been used once or twice. Nothing wrong with it, just isn't a good fit on DD and is always at the bottom of the pile. I will be advertising it tomorrow properly but wanted to give you lot first choice. Also got loads of washable swim nappies for sale too, some new, some used. I think they might all be girls but I will have a look as there might be a few boys or unisex.

soon2befamilyof4 · 28/03/2009 19:51

I wish they made ittis in onesize!

treedelivery · 28/03/2009 20:09

That woulb be cool - they'd be about £30 though!

I'd be interested in a tiny swim nappy if you have.

Saw this myddsbedroom
I wish!! That is your dream nappy stash no? Beats mine, spread over several floors and various baskets.

soon2befamilyof4 · 28/03/2009 21:25

Lol, that is a lot of nappies!

I will get the Swim nappies out tonight and see what I have in newborn for you tree. Do you have a girl or boy? Sorry I can't remember!

Is it just me or do BG grey and fade really easily? My pink ones just don't look great at all! They have all been preloved and it wasn't till I got an almost new one the other day I really noticed the difference! Doesn't seem to have happened to my other pockets though. I have had my mommys touch the longest, and they still look brand new and we use them just as much as the BG.

I am giving microfiber inserts another go during the day. I have never been a fan but thought I would try again and we haven't really had any leaks and it has been about 3 days. Haven't used just MF the whole time as we use BBOS inserts when possible but we don't have many of these. I don't find that I get much more from a bamboo insert then a MF one, which is odd as it is meant to be more absorbent?

ilovemydogandMrObama · 28/03/2009 21:36

You don't color coordinate your nappies?

OP posts:
treedelivery · 28/03/2009 21:37

And so pretty on the shelves!! Pine pine.

Gotta 8 week girlie who is coughing like an old man . Have started thread and even rung nhs direct. Poor mite.

I love mf, but then she is tiny. I have a cloth folded in 3, encased in fleece in every nappy. Then any squish out leaks go into the nappy iyswim. my mum made me loads.

Nappies last 4-8 hours so far, but sure that will change as she grows.

soon2befamilyof4 · 28/03/2009 22:14

Well I don't seem to have as many swim nappies as I thought so might come across some more later down the line. Anyway, I have found:
--Small mothercare swim nappy, brand new white with flowers on, very girly. £4 delivered.
--Small mothercare swim nappy that is pink with girly patterns on. This was used a good few times by my daughter and seems to have gone a bit dingy but still looks nice, just a lighter pink than it is meant to be. £2.50 delivered.
--6-12months swim nappy from BHS brand new without tags. Purple with a pink heart on the left side and a little frill round the edge. £4 delivered.
--3-6months bikini (which isn't a swim nappy) brand new. Yellow with a pink trim and a picture of a seahorse on the bikini top. £2 delivered.
--12-18months swim nappy from woolworths/ladybird. Brand new with tags. Label says £4 so will do for £3 delivered. I do have the hanger for this but won't post it as it will cost extra.
--Large swim nappy from mothercare. Same as the faded small one but this one is brand new. £4 delivered.

I am going to list them on CNT etc now while I have done a list so let me know if you are interested.

Strange question but has anybody here sent me anything lately? I got a parcel of used nappies this morning and don't remember buying them or where they came from! I know that is awful but I honestly don't know!

treedelivery · 28/03/2009 22:25

That happened to me all the time!

I'm imagining this fairyland of nappies and baby products, and it's your house!!

Can I claim the white nappy? my email is frequentflyerplus @ yahoo . co .uk if you want to paypal. Brill!

Have you one of those babywarmer suit things - like a neoprene jobbie? I'm after one, but £20 new!

soon2befamilyof4 · 28/03/2009 22:31

No sorry I don't!

The nappy is yours if you want it and will email you now. Although it is not that white. It is white background but the pattern covers most of the nappy iyswim? So it is more of a multicolored nappy? It is certainly a girls nappy though and is very pretty IMO. Prob my fav actually.

treedelivery · 28/03/2009 22:34

Sounds good, ta very much.

treedelivery · 28/03/2009 22:44

All done!

soon2befamilyof4 · 28/03/2009 23:02

Fab! Will get posted on monday.

treedelivery · 28/03/2009 23:16

Ok - I need your advice.

I'm in hard hard hard water. It's well 'ard. And I line dry and generally drape around the house.

dd2 is growing so I need to think about the nights a bit more. What do I do? The whole bumhuggers/wee notions thing is a mystery to me as I've been firmly in the newborn stage. Am starting to see she may grow. But only a bit! I love tiny babies!

I have me wraps, but so far they leave big marks. Hoping will improve as she gets older. It's more the fabric choice and nappy options I need you all for!

I'm thinking size 2 stage, which I guess will include the weaning era too. Eek, where's th etime going?

TheNatty · 29/03/2009 11:01

ok well tree i found that my size MEOS did fine for nights up until about 18 months, so im guessing size 2 might be the same.

i would recommend bum huggers, and a tumble dryer.

you could get away with boosterng nappies up, i find bamboo is only slighty better absorbancy then microfibre, so i would just get hemp.

welcome to our nightmare! over night nappies are great fun!

4andnotout · 29/03/2009 15:25

Ladies im thinning some of my nappies out, anyone interested in bumhuggers old style both larges and smalls, 5 quid postage each? Also have a light pink medium itti aio only selling as i have 3 the same colour and size!10 posted. Need to get some more bbh's as dd3 is having lovley leakfree nights now!

soon2befamilyof4 · 29/03/2009 15:29

Tree - I wouldn't worry about night nappies for now if you are having no leaks. For the first year you should be ok with just a normal day nappy and if you have a heavy wetter you can boost these. Night nappies are great but bulky if you don't need the extra absorbency and work out quite expensive too. Its not too bad if you can get away with it for quite a while. Like we have only now bought night nappies at 14 months so went straight to large which should last till potty training or nearly, so it hasn't worked out expensive for us, but would have if we had bought all the sizes iyswim?

What sort of size 2 nappies are you looking to buy? I have some I want to sell but depends what you are looking for really.

Well we had an awful nights sleep last night. DD wouldn't go to bed but was asleep by 9pm after 2 hours in her room of us getting her to sleep. She then woke up at 1am and wasn't having any of it. I was really ill and being sick constantly so DH had to deal with her. I actually thought I was going to go into early labor I was in a lot of pain. Anyway the point was we were then late getting up so DD had the same nappy (UDNN) on from about 6.30pm till about 9am this morning with no leaks! The back bit still even had a dry patch! Defiantly the best nappy we have for absorbency.

treedelivery · 29/03/2009 16:45

Thanks people! Music to my ears - will ignore all worry of nighttime for now. So long as you are all here in a year to help me sort my hemp from my bamboo from my micro.

thenatty we have a washer dryer actually, but I just can't afford to run the dryer . Am a bit at how much the washer is on tbh, we only did a few loads a week before. Now it's one a day. Ah well, new babies just create laundry. Pay the bills and quit moaning.

Soon - I'll be needing quick drying nappies that don 't get affected by hard water. So that'll be fleece then!
Have bought some pre loved size 2 lollipop fleece so will be interested to see the size. The size 1 are working great, they seem to never get soaking, but her vest can be damp. So the wee must be evaporating through the fleece, through the breathable wrap, then hitting the cotton vest and staying there. Fine by me as she doesn't feel the moisture or sit in wee.
I've got heaps and heaps of wrap over vests so changing them not too much bother, no overhead action. Got them from Vertbudet sale, £4 for 3 so all sorted till she's 9 months. Whole load cheaper than Green Baby though not as lush. Wish I'd had them for dd1, they make everthing so much easier!

UDNN?

drlove8 · 29/03/2009 17:03
