Anyone else need a kick to get some essays done?

Hiya,

Haven't needed to be on here for a while, due to having time to get on with some work.

But, I've got five pieces of work to get in through March, and one for April (disertation proposal).

So, anyone else need that kick to get work done. It seemed to work for a few of us last term.

I haven't done anything yet. Got some notes for my first one (psychology) and plenty of books.

But, the weather is nice today, children are at my parents and dh will be in work this pm so it is unlikely that I will do anything today as well

i need a serious kick. I have my first assessment (OU DD100) to be in for 2 March. I cant seem to get any peace in the house though and its really worrying me

I've done 150 words in almost 2 hours, only another 2350 left!

Going to give up soon I think, it is confusing me. I know what I want to write, just can't find anything that literally backs it up.

hi! me too...i have 1 essay due monday and an exam, 1 due in March and oh yes to write up my dissertation!
need to get my liffe in order...i just cant seem to settle.

ok...my course is forensic science and psychology!
i just acnt seem to settle down and work at the moment.
although had results back yesterday and had good results for previous work, whaich i was suprised at

Thanks KM,

I'm on my second year of joint Psychology and Social Welfare degree.

Essay is on psychology, and is about infant development, and the problems surrounding the research.

Whilst I know the issues (small sample, ethics etc), they also want us to use research papers which is what I am not finding.

I now know what I am doing, may struggle with the word count so will see how I go with that, but starting to feel much more positive now. I love this subject area but felt kind of lost last night.

OH, I need a kick up the backside...need to get a survey-questionaire finished by tongiht, for tomorrow (this is not actually an assignment as such) and than I have my Case study to work on....got the presentation to my Educator in a few weeks time and than have time to work a bit more on it to address any issues mentioned by my Educator, and than it has to be handed in properly at Uni in April.

Oh, and I am doing Occupational Therapy (1. year)

jofebe....that soudns a really ineresting Essay about Infant development...!

Sounds like you have got a busy few weeks ahead of you then. What course is it (Teaching?).

I've got Athens, so have been accessing that this morning. I hate searching on Athens though, loads of stuff come up, and the one I want is on page eight!

But, I am hoping my interest in it is going to get me through it. I have got 500 words now so am slowly getting there.

Tbh, I think we are quite lucky. My friend who does early childhood studies has so many essays and stuff...would scare the crap out of me.
We only had 1 Diagnostic Essay (which wasn't officially marked) , 1 Manual Handling Leaflet, and 1 Exhibition piece with a Reflective Essay so far and nothing over christmas....my friend had like 5 essays etc... to hand in just after x-mas...

OH, and I hear you with regards on Athens, it's brilliant really BUT...can be very frustrating.
I often have this thing where you find an article that really would be great and spot on, but than find out that I have no access to said article without paying....grrrrrrrr...

which points will you address in your essay?

Nearly all the articles need to be paid for (they wanted £30.00!), but, I've found a few good ones to use.

I am mainly concentrating on Sample Size, Ethics, Validity of results (as in, we think that babies think in the same way as us lol), individual differences, and finishing on Researchers Bias (which is for any project, not just infant development).

The amount of essays we get isn't too bad really, only had two essays and an exam before Christmas, but as our term finished end of March, all the remaining work has to be in by then - bar one (dissertaion proposal).

that isn't to bad than!
I have been on Placement since the beginning of the term , hence not much in Assignments.

The survey is actually part of some group work thing for the department I am placed in...I offered to do it, it will help me wiht my Proffessional Practice Appraisal tool thing in my PDP...
t's actually almost finsihed it is just the changes/corrections that I have to do now and voila...

hi all can i join you, not sure i'll get much done as i have spent all day procrastinating and finding other things need to be done urgently ( like playing on the wii!!
just realised the time and my dd will be about 40 mins and i have done .......Nothing!!
somebody kick me up bum.

I'm doing Early Childhood studies and supposed to be doing me lit reviewfor my research project, i have got to 1300 words (the other day) need to get to 1800 words and have lost the plot with it

Dylsmum, I'm am early childhood course too and I have just printed out my Lit Review. What a mare! Mine was 2500 though.
