Amelia

mummyloveslucy · 02/02/2009 21:11

It looks like Amelia is a clear winner.

I'd go for Briony but only because Amelia is just sooooo done to absolute death.

mummyloveslucy · 02/02/2009 21:15

Oh!

Sorry it came as a shock to you but sadly it's true.

mummyloveslucy · 02/02/2009 21:19

I want a pretty femanine name that won't date. I'm open to suggestions.

charlotte

Hulababy · 02/02/2009 21:21

I don't like Bryony/Briony, sorry.

Amelia is nice, but very popular at present - if that bothers you.

mummyloveslucy · 02/02/2009 21:21

I do like Charlotte but it's my sisters name.

Will you want to shorten it at all? Briony only really shortens to Bri or Nee. Amelia shortens to Amy, Lia, Melia, Millie, Mel, Lee and other variations.

Also I don't think Briony goes with Lucy if that is your other DD's name. Too many -y sounds.

Hulababy · 02/02/2009 21:22

Girls names I currently like (other than DD's name ) are Martha, Matilda, and Florence. I also like flower names such as Poppy, Daisy and Lily. I also like Anna.

Mimia · 02/02/2009 21:23

Alice?
Elizabeth?

Tommy · 02/02/2009 21:24

I like Bryony - agree that there are lots of Amelias around at the moment

mummyloveslucy · 02/02/2009 21:24

True, I didn't think of that.
I like Milly as a short version of Amelia.

Amelia may be popular, but my ds's school has 400 children and dd's 1400 girls - and not an Amelia amongst them. If you choose it, however popular it is, you aren't likely to meet another one!

boccadellaverita · 02/02/2009 21:26

Florence?
Beatrice?
Miranda?
Primrose?

mummyloveslucy · 02/02/2009 21:28

I like Matilda and Elizabeth but Elizabeth dosn't go with our sir name.
I like Katherine too.

Mimia · 02/02/2009 21:30

Amelia Elizabeth goes nicely IMHO

mummyloveslucy · 02/02/2009 21:32

I like Amelia Rose.

OP posts:
FruitynNutty · 02/02/2009 21:34

I've Nannied/CM'd for 2 Amelia Rose's!

LynetteScavo · 02/02/2009 21:35

mummyloveslucy - Both names are lovely. I think Amelia goes better with Lucy, but Ameilas are popping up everywhere.

Alice?

mummyloveslucy · 02/02/2009 21:36

Were they nice ?
