letting boys hair grow long

Hi my 19 month old ds has never had his hair cut at back, he has lovely curls at the ends dont want them to go. I know it's kinds old fashioned for boys to have long hair but I like it. Is there many out there that have ds's with long hair?

In the suburb I live in it you wont find any 19 month olds who have an aquaintance with a pair of hair scissors.....

mine did/do lol
ds1 has always had longish hair, but when I trimmed ds2's to even it up he decided he wanted his cut as well.,
am hoping to let it grow out a bit again though,
i think it looks lovely

My ds (3) has short hair,my choice. I dont like long hair on boys, just dont get why? but hey thats my take on it. Everyone to their own.
Some look cute with long hair tho.

It's up to you, we didn't cut DS hair until he was 19 months, and only then because he was getting food stuck in it, and his locks were getting trapped in his bib all the time. If he looks gorgeous and you like it keep it long!

dh cut ds hair tonight, for the first time!
he is 14 months (ds not dh ) and has long hair, mohican style which was starting to get into his eyes. quite short elsewhere (i think the mohican is what is left of his newborn hair).
so now his hair was shorter than i asked (dh took over when i was faffing and ds started to try to grab scissors) and ds now looks like such a toddler!
i might dress him in a sleepsuit tomorrow, so he looks like a baby again
... i jest, but i got a bit emotional when it was first cut.

I've had the odd mention from ex mil that it's about time his hair was cut, prob not meant to be nasty or anything but it's my son and up to me at the end of the day. My older son 16yr old has let his hair grow long recently but not as a baby though

I trim DS's hair every so often, but would like to keep his curls until he expresses a preference to the contrary (he is 2.5). I think he looks lovely

out of curiosity, did anyone else's DS have a 'mohican' style (naturally, i didn't cut it that way!) at around a year old?

if so, when it was cut, did it then thicken up everywhere (she asks, hopefully, so ds can have lovely shaggy hair in a few months)?

yeah it's the curls I like, they are lovely I have brushed it and made a pony tail once! I have to cut the fringe though but that job isn't easy

DS2 is 5 and until a few months ago had besutiful blond shoulder lenght' surf dude' hair.
But he wanted it cut short and spiky like his freinds.

Awhhh, i say keep it and keep him as your little one. Once DS had his trim he turned into a little boy overnight. Makes me think it's time to have another baby....

Yay my DS is 3 1/2 and only had it cut 3 times ever! It was an 'indie' long layered style but now going for the surfer look as seen on gorgous boys in Next catalogue, do they have fringes?? Im dreading peer presurre kicking in and him wanting it short, I like trendy spiky cuts but surf dude look is so much cooler! My daughters never having a fringe either!

Don't worry about it. DS#1 didn't have his hair cut until he was about 3, DS#2 similar. Soft blond wavy hair.

DS#1 has now reverted to toddlerhood and at 12 has long long blond hair. It's beautiful golden and soft. And twill be all gone in 15yrs time

both my dd and ds had mohawk style hair from the minute the were born and dd could have a bobble in it from about 3 months. She is 3 now and is waist length. Ds hair is thick, messy and on its way to being long. Cut a few times to tidy it but he has permanent bed head!
now can't decide to trim dd's fringe again(!) or let it grow out...

Depends on the hair. My DS has very thick, strong wavy hair with a mind of its own and it just won't look good if grown longer. Not even when he was a toddler.
Straight hair doesn't look great on boys if grown longer either IMO. The best boys' hair to be left long is curly/wavy and soft.
