How would your kids have behaved if you'd become First Lady/President and had to appear in front of quarter of a million screaming people?

DS1 would have done a wee.

DS2 would have cried and buried his head in my chest.

S1 (11) would work the crowd showing them algorithms to solve the Rubik's cube, then find a bucket from somewhere and write "Please give generously" on it.

S2 (9) would sit behind the podium, draw his knees up and hide. If pulled up, he'd fold his arms, pull his fringe down and do such a big pout they'd see his bottom lip from the spy satellites.

d (6) would go giddy and giggly and show off and interrupt talking VERY LOUDLY and be wide-eyed with fake innocence.

I'd be necking neat gin...

Of course Kerry you're right about the secret service goons. He would not do his dirty work himself....

Hm, DD would stand and stare at everyone with her mouth wide open (looks delightful) or interrupted my address to the cheering crowds with incessant cries of MUMMY! at increasing volume. Although if I'd promised her a puppy she might just be able to hold it in.

Saturn74 · 06/11/2008 16:34

DS1 would have taken the opportunity to bore enthral everyone with a magic show.
"Now you see the President Elect....... and now he's disappeared, oooooooooooooooh!"

DS2 would rip his posh top off to reveal a t-shirt advertising his own business.

BrownSuga · 06/11/2008 16:36

DS (17mths) would have stood on a chair, raised both arms, and gone YEAH!

needmorecoffee · 06/11/2008 16:37

dd would be screaming and the teenagers being sullen and unpleasant if I'd vene manged to get them to agree to be on stage!

Kathyis6incheshigh · 06/11/2008 16:38

I was thinking surely someone must have teens who would have got hold of some champagne and made themselves sick and thrown up on stage!

georgiemum · 06/11/2008 16:40

Grab the mike
Sing a song
Do a dance
Tell everyone that he had 'something imporatant to tell them'
Explain the names of each of his toy dogs
Shush people not being quiet
Have to be yoiked off the stage with a large hook whilst taking a bow

Pretty much what he did at the local cinema when they asked the kids onto the stage to show off their drawings.

ds2 would havwe stripped off thats for sure

TheCrackFox · 06/11/2008 16:56

DS1 (7) would wave shyly and ten stand behind me.

DS2 (3) would try to start a fight with DS1.

It would all end in tears.

lingle · 06/11/2008 18:07

It's all ending in tears for me right now - tears of laughter.

Favourite so far is "this is boring" which I think my DS1 would do too.

Ds1 would have refused to come on stage.

Ds2 would probably have screamed and laid down on the floor.

Then they would have hit each other and ds2 would probably have tried to push ds1 off the stage (after hitting him on the head with the microphone)..........

Suedonim · 06/11/2008 18:48

Not just any jail, KerryMum - it would be Guantanamo!

My dds would have preened to the crowd, glorying in the knowledge that the world had been blessed with a chance to witness their sheer magnificence and wonderful-osity.

My dses would have scowled and said 'What's it worth?' before ds1 went on stage hidden behind his hair and ds2 hidden behind a gaming machine.

It did make me think of that photo of JFK's two dc at his funeral. Heartbreaking.

DisasterArea · 06/11/2008 18:58

DD1 would have smiled beautifully and waved nicely, much like Obama's beautifull two.
DD2 o the other hand would have had to be dragged onto the stage where she would promptly have yawned and turned her back on the crowd, or refused to take her nose out of her ds.

ShowOfHands · 06/11/2008 19:56

DD's not so good with her enunciation of the letter 'l' so she would have shouted 'fag fag' a lot. Even better, somebody may have had a timepiece and she could have shouted 'fag fag cock cock' at the assembled hoardes.

woodstock3 · 06/11/2008 20:56

ds (18 mo) would have started a panicked stampede for the exits by shoutiing 'Fire! Fire!'
(it's his word for fireworks, which there's always loads of at US political rallies).
my presidency would have got off to an unfortunate start as several supporters were sadly crushed to death in the melee.

sweetgrapes · 06/11/2008 21:00

Dd would have run off screaming with her hands over her ears. She hates crowd noises.
Ds would have been all excited and def waved back!!

pmls at showofhands

Beetroot · 06/11/2008 21:01

All four of mine would have wallowed in the adulation. DD would have put up a fight if she had to wear a dress though and ds2 would have worn his trousers 'low' 'as I hate belts'

DoubleBluff · 06/11/2008 21:08

DS1 would have pretended to be ' BAtista'
DS2 would be ' John Cema'
and they would promptly have started wrestiling on th ebig stage.

FeelingLucky · 06/11/2008 21:19

DD (17months) would have rushed straight into the bullet-proof glass and started bashing at it while screaming with excitement.

Hulababy · 06/11/2008 21:22

6yo DD would have been hugging daddy, or jumping up and down on the spot in theat over excited way, or stood very mutely and over whlemed, smiling shyly and speaking to noone.

bozza · 06/11/2008 21:24

DS would have stood there taking it all in but DD would have insisted on being picked up. And she is 4 and getting quite heavy...

beansprout · 06/11/2008 21:25

4yo ds1 would be behind my leg and clinging on for dear life,
9mo ds2 would be either puking or b/feeding.
