Hi
Just wondering if anybody ever feels envious like me when they speak to people who tell you that their dc's grandparents have taken them on holiday, away for the weekend, on a sleepover, out for the day, etc.
And then there is the grandparents who seem to take over a large part of the parenting role taking them to and from school, after school clubs, etc, does anybody else ever think crikey I wish I had all of that sort of help, I have to pay out on loads of child care fees in order to work.
I never have anything like this in fact its always the opposite as I have elderly parents with various health problems and I have to do alot for them.
I care alot about my parents but I do wonder sometimes if anyone ever feels like me.

Oh yes, very envious and more than a little peeved at how taken for granted some of these marvellous grandparents are.

Some people just don't know how lucky they are.

I have always been very grateful for the help my PIL give me, they are now exPIL's but I would never refer to them as that. Reading this makes me appreciate them even more.

I work away overnight and some late nights so they need to stay overnight, it is only part time but still a few overnights. I am also studying and have workshops at Uni where I am away overnight too.

DD calls in after school to see granny and they have us all over for dinner regulary if it is not exH's turn.

Mil will also invite me round for a cuppa and we go for luch a few times a month and go into town and stuff.

She really is a good friend and basicly I couldn't work or study without them.

Sorry that we don't all have grannies and granddads like this, I think they are such an important part of my childrens lives.
