A few totsbots bargains here - there are other colours at the same prices (but not the size 2 bamboozle - that one was only in white).

Well worth a try if you're ona budget - I loved these for DD2 - these are all organic cotton too IIRC...

orange nippa TB Size 1

lilac nippa TB size 2

blue size 1 nippa TB

Size 2 popper bamboozle

lollipopmothershalloweenghost · 21/10/2008 22:54

Please please tell me that being a mum gets easier. Today I completely boiled Elizabeth in her car seat, when I finally pulled over to see why she was screaming in pain I found her dripping with sweat, it was literally running off her head. {sad] I am so fucking useless as a mum. I have never felt so guilty, she was in so much pain, I am shit shit mum messing about with nappies when I can't even get the basics of dressing her right.

babyjjbaby · 21/10/2008 22:57

ahh i am alway smelting him lol i forget how hot it gets in the car cos i walk most places we all do it he had a cardy and coat on today

LackaDAISYcal · 21/10/2008 23:31

lollipop you are not a shit shit mum; you are a first time mum who is still learning. try not to beat yourself up about it . you will look back in it and laugh, even though it might not seem it at the minute.

I never usually have their coats on in the car if we are going on any length of journey and just make sure it's warm enough. OK, it'll be a bit cold to begin with, but it soon warms up.

I only got 75% on that test, so not hardcore enough obviously. Mind you some of my answers reflect the fact that we aren't actuall using cloth at the minute.

soon, though, very very soon

4andnotout · 22/10/2008 08:15

lollipop your not a shit mother at all, you should take pride in the fact that you choose to take the time to wash your dd's nappies and are using cloth. We once sat in my parents house for about half an hour enjoying the peace before realising we had left a newborn dd2 in the car none of us are perfect and its still a learning curve expecting dd4!

FullMoonHowler · 22/10/2008 09:39

lollipop - dont worry, it's just part of learning, she'll let you know... I know I always overdress mine still, i just base clothing on myself and i'm always cold unless it's 30C outside! ( should move to Australia....). DS takes all his clothes off as soon as he comes home from school (apparently long trousers are for outside only...) and he's always been in just a bodysuit/underpants + top since he was a few months old - he made himself clear that's enough for him... (while i probably wear 2 jumpers...)

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 22/10/2008 10:08

lollipop - Not a shit mum at all. tbh I would think it more likely that the screaming had made her hot than her clothes. My bf always put her dd in the car in a full snowsuit, I put mine in with just normal clothes and no coat - both of us have been told we are wrong . DD1 was screaming away in the back of the car on a long jourmey one day, no amount of cuddly toys seemed to comfort her. When I eventually pulled over (after a good while) I found she had got her hair caught up in her car seat - it's no wonder she learned to talk so soon .
I'm on my third DC now and so far THIS WEEK DD2 has fallen head first from the top of the stairs and helped herself to 1/4 bottle of neat squash and I completely forgot to get DS out of the car when we got back from being out. We had my dad and step mum visiting and it was only after 15 mins sitting, chatting and drinking tea I realised the poor little chap was still in the car . I've told him he must make more noise in this house or he will get forgotten 4andnnotout I'm glad it's not just me that has made that mistake .

lollipop it honestly does get easier - I would not want to go through those first few months with pfb again - sheer terror and constant worry mixed in with complete love and adoration! The terror bit goes, the worry becomes less frequent, the love and adoration stay but you start to get more days where you would quite happily eBay them

Example of far crappier parenting:
Me to DCs a few weeks ago on dropping them off at nursery: "That's it I've had enough! I'm not going to be a Mummy anymore, I don't want to be a Mummy anymore, I'm going to go and live somewhere else!' I prefer to go for emotional ruin, you know, something they can recount to their counsellors when they are 18 after years of depression and anxiety. Poor little things just sat in their car seats looking so shocked - now that is crappy parenting....

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 22/10/2008 10:17

ummmm...if anyone would like to talk me out of buying these it would be much appreciated!
