BJJB Email me your details and i'll send one on to you. Do you need an Airflow or do you have wraps? My email is lorwiggins at yahoo dot co dot uk.

babyjjbaby · 20/10/2008 18:09

thanks hun have emailed u

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 20/10/2008 19:57

howler rikki's just don't go over Sandy's IME -I think the airflow was designed to go over the Sandy's anyway - they certainly seem to have been added to the range at the same time IIRC.

It's a bit disappointing when I see really good retailers suggesting either wrap to go over Sandy's - I can't get the two to work together easily (could well be operator error though )

BBM - I tried the rikki over muslins too, just couldn't get a good fit on the legs somehow (I could with the old newborn bambino mio, which is still velcro), maybe this operator is faulty too, so here it's airflow all the way over everything!

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 20/10/2008 21:02

howler Yours is on the way btw - forgot to mention that . I like to be able to adjust the thighs and waist easily - DS has big thighs but a teeny waist so Rikkis etc are a nightmare to get fitted properly, the airflow is so much quicker and easier for us.

babyjjbaby · 20/10/2008 21:05

u got me thinking bout trying a airflow now

ilovemydog · 20/10/2008 21:12

that old chestnut

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 20/10/2008 21:32

Flippin report - caused me to have a busy day.

Most of the press seem to be turning the report into a negative for cloth....

ilovemydog · 20/10/2008 21:40

apparently i'm using cheap washing powder

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 20/10/2008 21:56

I saw that!

I wouldn't be best pleased spending £10 a week on something I throw away. DD2s nappies only cost £30inc postage and they have been going for 18m on her (third hand though). I spend £45 per yr on washing powder - I was surprised how little it was when I worked it out!

babyjjbaby · 20/10/2008 22:00

i wonder if they take into account with disposible the fuel to get them to and from factory shops the water used to make them the packaging the effects teh chemical have on enviromnet it must all count

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 20/10/2008 22:08

babyjj - yes they do - to an extent. Disposable manufacturers are doing their best to make their nappies thinner and lighter so they cost less to transport.

babyjjbaby · 20/10/2008 22:12

i still think reusables are better for enviroment anyway

returnofrusmummy · 20/10/2008 22:20

So girls - why did you choose to reuse???

babyjjbaby · 20/10/2008 22:20

cos i think they r better for enviromnet

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 20/10/2008 22:38

The report is out of date already really - they only take prefolds and cotton shaped nappies into account, no bamboo, microfibre or hemp - and they are assuming a minimum wash temperature of 60C because this is the minimum wash temperature recommended by the dept of health.

No mention of soapnuts btw....

babyjjbaby · 20/10/2008 22:43

or eco balls and soda crystals

returnofrusmummy · 21/10/2008 08:15

What report?????

babyjjbaby · 21/10/2008 09:28

bbm do u think these stains will come out thinking of buying them but don't want them if they won't come out i only want the blue one really if so what do i do to get them clean they obvisliy haven't used liners with them

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 21/10/2008 09:58

rusmum - the new (amended) cloth nappy vs disposable report was released last week. There is a thread here

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 21/10/2008 10:07

babyjj - over time I think they would, it's hard to tell from the photo how long it might take. It does look as though she may have been using a bleach-free powder or liquid because the coloured nappies are still bright so a wash with some normal powder might make a big difference.

You could dye them yourself (but then that's an extra cost for you I guess).

Problem is the listing will be pulled (probably very soon) anyway because they are used. Might be worth emailing the seller to explain this and ask her to put a buy it now price so you can buy before they getted spotted (I've done that several times )

babyjjbaby · 21/10/2008 10:33

ok might try that i dunno if i would use them whilst staine even if they were dyed i have a funny thing with germs and dirt lol

returnofrusmummy · 21/10/2008 11:30

my prefolds are very stained this time????

DD 11 weeks has necer stained them before. any ideas/???

How get stains out??

babyjjbaby · 21/10/2008 11:33

sunlight i am sure i read somewhere it is the uv which gets stains out but dunno if this is right if it is i was thinking bout getting a uv wand

babyjjbaby · 21/10/2008 11:35

wonder if this would work
