If a boy - wooden train set, cars, books

bristols · 17/09/2008 20:52

Anything to do with Thomas the Tank Engine, Shape Sorter, wooden jigsaws, Stacking Rings (ELC do some lovely wooden ones), cars, pushchair, shopping trolley, black board.

Also loves emptying all my kitchen cupboards, but that's another story!!

ajm200 · 17/09/2008 20:57

Anything he shouldn't!

Also any cheap tat that arrives on the front of comics his gran insists on buying even though he has no interest in them

Other than that, he's obsessed with cars, trains, paints and drawing. He has expensive toys but really couldn't be bothered with them and I'm sure that we've wasted a fortune. Cheap, colourful, noisy, messy or with wheels seems to be the rule. specially as boys are so heavy handed and break things so easily.

When he's really bored, a couple of pan lids to bang together or the saucepans and a wooden spoon make a great distraction.

Farm animals.

Mini cash register with scanner and chip and pin thingy. She overcharges me for everything, scans everthing in several times. I'm not sure who to report her to.

When the weather is good then its: slugs, worms, mud, raspberries, earwigs and unripe tomatoes.

BroccoliSpears · 17/09/2008 21:12

This is the most successful and continually played with toy ever. Can't see her growing out of it any time soon either.

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/09/2008 21:12

Kitchen and play food/pots.
Garden toys (swing/trampoline/climbing frame etc)
Glue/paint/chalk and easel
Dressing up stuff
ELC microwave
Dh's computer

crokky · 17/09/2008 21:15

Lots of Thomas engines etc and track

Lizzylou · 17/09/2008 21:19

Fisher Price Little People Zoo
Dinosaurs (his older brothers)
Bob The Builder vehicles
Puzzles
Garage and cars (we have ELC wooden one)
Trains/Train table
Kitchen/pots/pans
Playdough
Duplo
Farm and farm animals/tractors

DS2 is 2.5yrs but he has played with these for ages.

MuffinMclay · 17/09/2008 21:25

Absolute number one is toy cars (matchbox type). He carries one or two everywhere with him.

Also:
toy garage
really annoying 'hot wheels power' car thingy
Bob the Builder vehicles (Scoop, Muck, Dizzy etc)
Brio train stuff
ride-on tractor (outside)
blackboard
playdough
books

Not too bothered about crayons, arty stuff, etc. Gets bored with those very quickly.

books, puzzles, kitchen, play food, little till with scanner, swipe card and shopping basket, dolls and buggy and their bottles

Twinklemegan · 17/09/2008 21:59

I agree, anything with wheels. And the "garage" I made him out of a cereal packet lasted a full 2 months - he loved it.

Also toy gardening tools - watering can, trowel, etc.

He's getting into jigsaws now (Thomas the Tank Engine of course). And lots and lots of books.

BexieID · 17/09/2008 22:14

Tom (2.5) loves playing with:

  • pegs
  • laundry basket
  • cars
  • anything he can push along
  • pens/cds from the comuter desk
  • tins of food all stacked up
  • wooden blocks
  • balls
  • books
  • pop-up toys
  • cuddlies
  • bead frame
  • watering can
  • trampoline/slide/playhouse
  • garage
  • bubbles
Lizzylou · 17/09/2008 22:16

Justabouthadcurry, same with my DS2!
He loves it when we take his nappy off so he can sit on the potty, as soon as the air catches it, he is a fumbling

BexieID · 17/09/2008 22:28

Ah, yes. When you ask him where his willy is, Tom grabs it, lol.

LadyBabo · 17/09/2008 22:38

dinosaurs
farm animals
crayons and colouring books
dinosaurs
simple jigsaws
dinosaurs
cuddly teddy
dinosaurs
lift the flap books to "read"
even more dinosaurs

she even 'shoplifted' a dinosaur today - dh didn't realise til they got home. Funny tho she picked the one out of a series, the only one that she hasn't already got.

scurries off to tidy up mountains of plastic dinosaurs
