suggestions please, acceptable term for DDs 'bits'!

OK, i know this is a bit silly but DD has spent a lot of summer with no nappy on and as she is getting into naming parts of the body i realised last night i dont know what to call her 'front bottom'.

any suggestions???

There have been a lot of threads on this in the very recent past.

Most people seem to call it a minny or a fairy but it'll be a fanny for my DD, even though her grannies won't be impressed. And bum for the back bit.

I watched that programme about vaginal surgery last night and a lot of them called it a fou fou. I think it doesn't really matter what you call it as long as it doesn't have overtones of shame - there were teenage girls having labial surgery

to summarise what normally happens on these threads.

1 no it is not a vagina, it is your vulva
2 who is their right minds encourages a 3 year old to say vulva?
3 front bottom, flower, fanny etc is regarded as the anatomical equivalent of fruitshoots and sausages rolls.
4 call it whatever teh hell you like.

Did anyone else tell the TV last night "it's not a perfect vagina it's a vulva, the vagina is the tube the hole FFS, the vulva is the bit with the labia"

Sorry off on one we kind of call it "girlie bits" bu default. Wanted to use fanny but it's rude why though? In the US it means bum and isn't rude.

We use 'bits' in general conversation, like 'Put you bits away' or 'have you wiped your bits?' but DD&DS both know it's a vuvla and a boy has a penis.
Whatever you use make sure it is universally understood i.e don't pick a word out of a dictionary with your eyes closed. Your child may one day have to communicate with someone other than yourself and they need to be understood.

Why is it Vulva and not Vagina? Have I been wrong all these years?

beanieb, the vagina is the passage where the penis goes/baby comes out.
It's just we are taught at school that the 'penis enters the vagina' and assume the whole thing is a vagina.
Much prefer the word vuvla though, I think it's quite pretty.

I couldn't bring myself to watch that show last night. Do you think all this new surgery stuff is down to too much porn being seen now, so we are all supposed to look like the actresses?

we call our knee cap a patella in this house because we have to have the correct anatomical name
