Oooh another new thread! How exciting

I have DD 2.3 and DS 10m (nearly) and I vaguely cope sometimes.

Had a busy week -- went out on my own with some of the other women from playgroup (I know to some of you that would be unthinkable!) - it was nice to go out and to meet them without DCs in tow. While I was out, DS screamed for an hour and half, so I doubt DP will be actively suggesting he does bedtime for both of them on a regular basis...

DS was also awake and screaming for a lot of last night don't know what the matter was surely he can't be ill again [of course he can emoticon]

Good luck to all of you who are going back to work.

...Must go and play in the paddling pool now!

simpson · 25/07/2008 11:12

I have DS 2.7, DD 1 year old and due 3rd child in October so will have 3 under 3. Glad there are other people who are in the thick of it. I sometimes wonder whether I will survive this period with my sanity.

hazeyjane · 25/07/2008 15:09

I can't decide what is more exciting, Chaotica, a new thread, or the free piece of chocolate cupcake i had in Waitrose today (I really must get out more)

I'm afraid I can't be involved in the sleep talk, because my 2 are both so appalling (eg dd1 was up for 2 hours last night, dd2 up at 5 - as usual), that dh and I just seem to have accepted it as the way life is at the moment, we have tried various things to improve situations, but it nothing seems to change much. I just keep muttering my mantra, "its only a phase, its only a phase..."

BTW I have 2 dd's, 2years4months and 14 months.

justkeepswimming · 25/07/2008 15:53

hi all, i have ds1 2.2 and ds2 6 months.

ds2 napping, ds1 at nursery today, dh about to go and collect him.

does anyone else get that awful feeling like the day is over when it comes to nursery pickup time? i think i'm starting to resent how much ds1 doesn't let me do

the clock goes round far too quickly on nursery days and i have to remind myself that we will have fun and be positive about him coming home, that's awful isn't it?....

it's like the sunday evening feeling i used to get when i worked full-time....

on non-nursery days i enjoy his company, really, i think i just hope to do too many other things when he's not here and i never get them all done so get frustrated, argh.

right, enough of that.

hi pedilla wow 4, i intend to have 4 though it's up for review after each one!

claireybee · 25/07/2008 16:05

Hello I joined ages ago but lost track very quickly! Will try to keep up this time
I have dd 2.2 and ds 7 months

DD has only just started sleeping through and ds doesn't sleep much at all so there will be no gloating here!

robino · 25/07/2008 18:34

Hi! I posted 2 weeks ago and I've not managed since. DD1 is 18 months, DD2 is 3.5weeks. DD1 has had a virus for the last 2 weeks with 4 trips to the emergency doctors (never really ill during daylight hours!) and we're moving area in 2 weeks time. Maybe I shouldn't have bothered posting - not sure I'll manage ever again!

mad4mybaby · 25/07/2008 18:48

hi guys. i have ds whos just turned 2 and have ds2 due in november. Am reeealy struggling with an over active 2 yr old boy and being pg! Im hoping ill cope a tiny bit better when ds2 is born at least then i can chase after him! Had a bit of negativity when sisters found out i was pg. 'if you think 1's hard wait till you have 2' keep getting that and really fed up of it. Gee thanks for vote of confidence!

I do sometimes wonder how on earth im going to have time for a new born aswell as staying sane but i guess it could be worse! Ds1 was v poorley when he was born for first year so hoping this one will be fine!

Cazwa · 25/07/2008 20:28

Hi everyone, welcome new people.

DD 23mo
DS 9mo

Had appalling night again with DS, awake from 11pm - 2.30am and again at 4ish. Took him to the docs who declared it a virus and that it should go away x 10!!! Saying that he has been better today and even laughed a bit. Geez his nappies though, bleurgh, they make DD retch and run across the room.

DD fell down the stairs today, that is possibly the most horrible sound in the world, the bumpbumpbump and screams. She was fine though, got a few bruises but nothing worse thank god.

DD got her first haircut and first lollipop today aaww, she said 'Martin, haircut' over and over in the bath tonight. Is it me or are all hairdressers called Martin and gay? I know 3.

Just had a chip butty for tea. Bang goes the diet

Jewelsandgems · 25/07/2008 20:55

Evening all! Big welcome to newbies

I have DD1 who is 2.5 and DD2 who is 6 months today! (wow doesn't time fly when you are looking after two young children and never have time to yourself)

Deleted the old thread from favourites so cannot remember who posted re the high waisted trousers. I like them because they give a nice silouhette and you can sit down in other people's company without wondering if your wobbly bits are wobbling.

DD2 slept til 6 this morning so all fine there. Definate re the virus cazwa and that i will go away. Well that's reassuring!

Have a good weekend everyone!

justkeepswimming · 25/07/2008 20:56

woohoo my wii fit age is 32 and my real age is.....33

dh is 36 and his fit age is 53

cazwa - your dd had a busy day! hope she's ok after he tumble.

hi mad. robino & clairey

dh took ds1 to a friends after nursery so gave me longer 'off'
so we all went in the garden for a bit, then bath and bed.
just went up to check on ds1 cos he was playing and i couldn't find him! well i could hear his breathing and see a heap of duvet he had wrapped himself up in it on the floor and was boiling. put him in bed, hope he stays there now.

ds2 back to 1 feed a night, boo hiss. i am hopeful every night tho!

right, wii fit training time (i went a got myself a glass of wine to celebrate my age tho!).

justkeepswimming · 25/07/2008 20:58

jewels - x-posted. so our dcs are pretty close in age then.
may 2006 and jan 2008.

simpson · 25/07/2008 21:39

Hi to everyone!!

DS is the proud owner of a yellow lazytown scooter. He has even taken into bed with him, well propped up at the end of his bed It is a well done for no more nappies

DD little madam today. She has loved all her food so far but refused potato & broccoli, not sweet enough probably but decided a fromage frais yogurt would be alright.

Mad4mybaby - I definately found it a lot harder to cope with toddler and being heavily pg. Easier when baby comes...fingers X

(waves at everyone else)

Kaybeeand2boys · 25/07/2008 21:40

evening all

DS1 20 months
ds2 13 weeks

Your poor dd caswa, my ds1 fell down stairs last week, I didn't see it but could hear that bumpbumpitybump. He was fine too, just a bump on the head and a bit of a scare! He's been going down backwards since thank god.

Ds2 not improving with gaviscon, seems to be making him more miserable! Am thinking of abandoning it and trying thickened milk instead.

Hope everyone has a good weekend

samsmam · 26/07/2008 07:51

Hi all, I will try and keep up with this thread as it will do me some good.

DD1- 22 months
DD2- 5 months

I am struggling to cope as can't get out down my very dodgy steps from my flat.
I would dearly love a garden for DD1 as she loves the great outdoors.

Both DD's are good sleepers, usually both from 7pm-7am. Prob spoken to soon now.
I am looking for a little job at the moment both because finances are hard and to get some little time out. No child minders needed as DP works shifts of 14 days out of 28. I always feel really bad for wanting to get a job- is that bad?

Kaybee- my DD2 was on Gaviscon and it seemed to make her more unsettled.

lizinthesticks · 26/07/2008 08:45

If the reason you're wanting a job is because of money, and the reason you're feeling bad is because you'll be leaving your baby - well, I don't think you're bad for feeling bad.

But if you can get by without the money and if you just can't face looking after the baby then it's not so clear cut. Sure, judgey. It's just that I honestly think babies are best with their mums if that's at all possible (I know pnd can wreck things, however). I think it's so sad that so many babies are put in nurseries so young.

yummymummy1405 · 26/07/2008 15:03

hello am new to net mums I have ds who is 2.2 and dd who is 4 months and teething very badly which leaves me tearing my hair out!! But apart from that life aint too bad

lizinthesticks · 26/07/2008 15:28

Soz - I said "mums". Ugh. I meant people who love them. And I know this is glib crap but it's too late I said it.

PS hi yummy!

Chaotica · 26/07/2008 18:38

Hello all (newbies and oldies (and we really are old, aren't we )

Hazey -- you must really stop living life on the edge like that: free cupcake? And chocolate, as well...

(Missed out on the ice cream van today and he's not come by again -- probably raking it in down at the water park rather than trying his luck on our street...)

Hope your DS2 is improving still, Grrrl.

Kaybee -- Gaviscon had limited effect with DS and to be honest he still has something up (thrush, constipation, a bit sick, won't eat... [throws hands in air]. Acidophillus helped a bit though too.

Samsmam -- nothing wrong with getting a job. Sometimes having a little break from being a mum makes you into a better one (imho)

Jewelsandgems · 26/07/2008 19:52

Evening all and hoping you are all enjoying a lovely weekend so far.

I went shopping today (god you must think that is all I do - I do other stuff honest! Like.....erm.....will carry on with the post til I think of things) anyway, bought a beautiful black winter coat from Zara Women collection and - yes I know it is summer - but it fits so perfectly that it HAD to be mine Also, bought some platform mary janes from Next, and of course some St Tropez Everyday and Mouse. (I should have shares...)

I also agree having a job can make for just as good a mum as not having one - I was a working mum with DD1, and this time with 2, I am SAHM.
when they go to school, I am planning to go contracting and work 6 months, have 6 months off. Of course, best laid plans and all that....who knows?!!

Yes JKS our DCs are of very simular ages! Totally know what you mean about resenting when your oldest is not at nursery, it being easier to get stuff done but you are lucky! I don't send my oldest to nursery, so have the, both all day mon-thur! She will start soon though, in another 6 months so am half looking forward to that. Saying that, sometimes my parents have her for the day and I miss her so much, really really do. [hopes it gets easier emoticon]

Anyway, we were supposed to drink a bottle of vintage champagne we had laying around but DH forgot to fridge it! So, looks like it will be a peroni instead - oh well, after my new nice clothes I do not mind.
