Unsecure pool and 5yo

Would you go to a vacation home with an unsecured pool and a non swimming 5 year old? The mere thought gives me anxiety but someone also said that I shouldn’t be difficult and we can just watch the kid.

soooo…. Am I helicopter mom or right if I stay home?

No, I wouldn't. You would be on edge all the time and are putting a lot of trust in other people. My friend was in a similar position a few years and someone left a door open as they went outside to take a phonecall. Her young daughter followed them out. Only at the last second did the person on the phone see that she was heading into the pool and grabbed her. They also left travel staircases open etc. My friend and her daughter went home early.

I wouldn’t whether they could swim or not.
