Is anybody else worrying about potential terrorist attacks on primary schools?

Over the last week I've seen lots of videos/social media posts regarding potential terror attacks on primary/infant schools. Following on from them doing lockdown practice runs in school. It's got me so worried to the point where I'm considering home schooling my children (5 and 4). They absolutely love their school, it's a lovely small village school with brilliant teachers and they have a really close knit group of friends there.

I know it would break their hearts if I pulled them out of school but I can't stop thinking about something awful happening to my children.

On the other hand, I know I need to keep things in perspective and really consider the chances of something happening. I'm just so conflicted, I don't know how well I'd be able to home educate them, I don't really have the confidence to do it.

Just looking for some advice really and peoples opinions. TIA

I'm convinced this is an orchestrated and targeted fear campaign by 'Patriotic' groups.

And that's where you find out that either the person has just joined the site to post on this specific thread, or they've name changed.

Must be quite difficult being you. Honestly, if MI5 has the UK threat at mid-level, it’s really not good for you to give this so much head space.
Especially when you are unnecessarily frightening other parents on a parenting website …..

You’re not worrying too much, you actively said you think an armed attack is going to happen at a primary school. In December. In the UK. You want to watch yourself or you’ll have the police knocking at your door thinking you planned it.

Click on Search on the blue bar at the bottom, then you have you click Advanced Search once you are in Search.

Then you can search by username and see, for example, that a previous poster has made 6 posts ever but you have made over 2500 (it caps at 2500).

Terrorism doesn’t specify a race, it specifies using violence to further a religious or political or other, idea.

talking about threats that have been rumoured to have been made is not making threats.

I haven’t mentioned race, if you’re made that inference than maybe you should check your unconscious biases before piping up at me.

So just to explain how Google works - you can put something in the search bar and it will give you a variety of responses. Some will be saying one thing, some another. Google isn't the oracle, I'm afraid, and is very specific to what words you use in your search. It's such a cop out to say Google it - what are we supposed to Google specifically, for a start?

If you genuinely had information you believed you would be sharing it to convince us.

Actually, you said “I think” and “I reckon”. Those words imply you were offering your thoughts, not merely repeating a rumour.

Did you look up unconscious bias? For the record, your bias is showing front and centre, no hiding there.

I’m not worried about my children because of these rumours. Perhaps you should speak to a GP about your anxiety?

I didn’t make the post 🤣 I’ve commented on it. With the rumours that I’ve seen. Which obviously other people have seen.

im definitively not racist, I just have eyes and ears and do my own research and educate myself and don’t just sit on chat rooms tutting to make myself feel like a better person than other people. I don’t care what you believe, that’s a you problem. What I consider possible, is based on what I’ve heard, seen, and can use my brain to think of worst case scenario.
