Struggling with grocery shopping

Hi all, I’m finding it really difficult grocery shopping using my stroller. I carry a basket using the crook of my arm and put items under the stroller. A security guard was following me around till I paid. I’m assuming he thought I was going to steal something as I was putting items under the stroller. Also the stroller tips back when I hang the bags on the handles so I carry them on my wrists and push the stroller. Does anyone else struggle with this and any tips? Thank you.

Home Delivery - absolute game changer. I usually get two smaller shops delivered each week.

Beats me why anyone ever goes round a supermarket now.
If only home delivery had been around when my DC were babies.

It’s a massive shoplifting ploy, puttIng things in the bottom of your stroller. Security will watch you, every time. How old is your child. I’ll take DS out (and runs off!) & use the top part only, sometimes resting the basket on top, so nothing is hidden.

Thanks guys, so does everyone get it delivered? Usually I can’t fit in a delivery till 2 days later and £8 for tesco delivery is expensive or am I over reacting.

Yes, home delivery. I get a delivery once a week and only need a top up once every few months or so, for things that I forgot or weren't in stock. Then it's just a couple of items and I hold them or put them on the buggy hood.

Hey, my daughter is 2. And I never have enough space for anything? How do you carry it back?

I put it all in the basket of the pram, although I did once accidentally steal some spring onions that slipped under my rain cover.

Home delivery! Taking a small child into a supermarket is a special kind of torture!

I found a bit of a happy medium though. I home delivery all of my staples/weekly/bulky items and then will pop into the supermarket for some nice fresh bits like certain meats or deli items. I honestly don’t think I could face a big weekly shop with my toddler!

Or if it’s a big shop I use a trolley and baby goes in the trolley and the pram stays in the car.

Haha! I know a lot of people are saying home delivery but I actually like going out and about? Anyone else?

Does Tesco do a delivery pass? If so it will work out much cheaper if ordering frequently and will probably offer lots more available slots that they keep in reserve. I’m with Morrisons and it does that.

Also click and collect if delivery slots are taken/expensive.there is no need to go in a shop.

I can get next day delivery, sometimes that evening if it’s early enough with ASDA. But I get a yearly delivery pass but if not I think it’s £3/4 depending on when you choose.

Alternatively if it’s just a few bits I balance them on the hood of the pram or put them in the basket and accept I will be followed my security 🤷🏻‍♀️

I pay £8 a month for all the Ocado deliveries I I want. Why go to the supermarket? I don’t have young children and I can’t be arsed to go.

You can get weights for the pushchair so it doesn't tip.

Could you get a clip for the handles for large, open bags to use instead of a basket?

Don't pay per delivery! You can get a Tesco delivery pass for £5.99 a month for unlimited anytime deliveries.

We shop little & often, we live centrally. And we have a big pram!

Well we all coped before Iceland reintroduced Home Delivery in the 90s!

Supermarket shopping trollies have baby seats, child seats etc in them. Why aren’t you using those?

For the love of god woman. Get bloody home delivery.

Self scanning? So at least you're scanning the products before putting in the stroller basket and security would have no reason to follow you.
