I am going to be a student midwife at King's College London!!!

OMG. Am crying and shaking. Just got off the phone from them - they actually said that they were thrilled with my performance at interview, that I had done brilliantly and they would be delighted to offer me a place!! I can't believe it! I actually burst into tears on the phone when she told me!

Am off to celebrate now - somehow - don't know how! Oh my god. Just can't believe it!

Congratulations!

Do you have to have a nursing qualification before you can train to be a midwife? How long is the course? Where could I get info from? Really interests me too.

Good luck and enjoy your celebrations.

Moomina · 17/01/2005 11:44

Thank you everyone! I am utterly gobsmacked.

I start in Sept this year. I was so convinced that I wasn't going to make it. I can't believe it. I loved it so much when I got there - felt totally at home and even actually enjoyed the interview and the hideous essay we had to write, etc. But after getting one rejection from another uni I was feeling so despondent. But - KING'S!!! One of the most prestigious midwifery depts in the country. Can't believe they want me!

Oh, god, ramblerama! Am all over the place!

Oh honey how totally fabulous. I'm so pleased for you. It's such an interesting department, lots of innovative practice, I'm always really impressed with it - and had my first baby with Kings too.
