What Do You Do With Your Childrens Teeth?

Just that really.
DD is 6, just lost second tooth, tooth fairy came.
Now I have two teeth in a little baggie of my top drawer, (hidden down the side of course) along with the note and picture left with said teeth.

What do you do with your children's teeth??

I throw them away. Sorry!

Tdcp · 30/01/2025 09:24

Dp makes me keep them, I think it's a bit Ed Gein personally 😂

Bin, along with toenails and cut hair.

My parents still have mine in a camera film case, and I'm 43 😂

My child is yet to lose any teeth, but I suspect I'll end up keeping them.

stackhead · 30/01/2025 09:50

I put them in the bin.

For people who keep them, why? Genuinely why? Surely they will just gather dust until you die and then said child will have to throw out their own baby teeth?

I kept all of DD’s in a pretty little pouch!

Marisislikethesunwithoutthewarmth · 30/01/2025 19:15

Dd is 7 keeps hers in one of those tiny Sistema sauce pots- she takes them to every dentist appointment to show the dentist. Not entirely sure why but I choose my battles and let her crack on. 😅

Thanks all - seems there's a mixture.

I don't think I can bring myself to just throw them away, so I'll probably just keep them in the drawer forever, or until she's older at least.

Bin them. I don't get keeping them.

Some time in my 20s my mum presented me with a bag of all of mine. Had no idea she'd kept them. I immediately threw them away. Bloody weird.

Not as weird though as SIL who has kept my niece's and nephew's cord stumps.

WolfFoxHare · 30/01/2025 20:42

I keep them in a little wooden box. I’m aware people think it’s creepy to keep them! I’ve also got a lock of hair from DS’s first haircut and the clip from his umbilical cord (not the cord!), the little card they popped in the crib when he first brand new (‘Baby Hare’) and his hospital ID bracelet.

Sherararara · 30/01/2025 20:42

I string them on a chain and wear it like a necklace.

TheChosenTwo · 30/01/2025 20:43

Erm, just put them in the bin!
My mum, for some unfathomable reason, kept ours in a necklace box. She’s binned them now. I don’t understand the purpose of keeping them, how often are you getting them out and taking a trip down memory lane?

OhMehGoddess · 30/01/2025 21:01

The bin. There is no where else they should be.

TheSeaOfTranquility · 30/01/2025 21:07

We made had them embedded in clear resin and made into doorknobs for the doors in our old house. They looked really interesting!

Unfortunately we forgot to take them with us when we moved, but I'm sure the new owners get as much pleasure from seeing them as we did.

Have them all! Love the doorknob idea.

BodenCardiganNot · 30/01/2025 21:08

I have a friend whose daughters are 30, 28 and 25. She has their placentas in her freezer.

GreenSedan · 30/01/2025 21:08

My kid's teeth are in the china cabinet. It feels like the right place for them.

I have no words...

MajorCarolDanvers · 30/01/2025 21:09

In the bin.

keeping them is rank 🤢

MuggleMe · 30/01/2025 21:10

In the loo. No chance of being found and the tooth fairy conspiracy being busted.

ladygindiva · 30/01/2025 21:11

I have them in a secret compartment in my jewellery box. Even adult dds who is now 26. I know it's grim ! 🤣

ByMerryKoala · 30/01/2025 21:12

In the bin. A decision I made when ds1 was born and mil presented my with dh's baby teeth - as a gift 🤣🤮

I laboriously saved my kids' teeth in little pots. When they were almost ready to go to uni my mother presented me with my own baby teeth (she was decluttering prior to moving house) and I was appalled. Came home and swiftly binned them, along with my own children's teeth too!
