After a blanket denial by other parents to recognise cheese strings (dd's party), I'll start with:
Ribena
processed cheese slices
coke for children
readymeals for children

and we are vegetarian.
Aside from that, dig in

FAWKEOFF · 18/04/2008 09:32

anything with BERNARD MATTHEWS on the packet

chicken nuggets
process cheese
crap cordial

MingMingtheWonderPet · 18/04/2008 09:33

I agree with Trinity

Chicken nuggets
Fizzy drinks for kids
Smiley faces

Agree with sweetener thing. If you are going to have jelly as treat, would rather it be with sugar than aspartame, saccharin etc. Ugh.

chamaeleon · 18/04/2008 09:33

deffo coke of any type for kids, diet is worse than fat coke

lunchables. let them try them once and they loved them (i thought they looked like plastic playfood) and apart from thge fact they are full of crap they strill wanted l;unch after

ready meals
sauces in jars (dolmio etc)
coke for children

cocolepew · 18/04/2008 09:35

plastic cheese, bright yellow, etc. Rocks is soooo expensive with a use by date of about half an hour. Still buy it and feel virtuous though.

WTF is tinned vegetable salad??

Bisto
processed chicken & supercheap chicken
nasty ham & nasty sausages
sugary cereals
ditto Bernard Matthews

other than that I think it's a case of everything in moderation here.

luckylady74 · 18/04/2008 09:38

crap ham
eggs from unhappy chickens
crisps other than ready salted - but I do hide other ones for adults!
I buy coke and say it makes children poorly

Won't give dd stuff containing aspartame.

luckylady74 · 18/04/2008 09:40

tinned veg salad was my nana's buffet staple -it's mixed veg (llike the chopped frozen stuff) in salad cream in a tin - I adored it as a child, but then I liked spam too!

Coco pops
Coco strwas

etc

morethanmum · 18/04/2008 09:42

i wish i'd started off excluding cordial - it all seems to filter down from dd (9) to the littler ones.

Any sort of processed cheese (though will admit to a secret passion for cheese triangles). Incl dairy lea dunkers. Especially dairy lea dunkers!

'Shaped' maize or potato products of any kind. No problem with basic crisps but anything that needs extra chemicals and fillers etc I avoid. Ditto chips are OK (usually home-made) but not mashed potato shaped into things and then covered with breadcrumbs.

Reduced-fat anything.

Not much else. I just prefer to make things from scratch so not that much processed food in general.
