After a blanket denial by other parents to recognise cheese strings (dd's party), I'll start with:
Ribena
processed cheese slices
coke for children
readymeals for children

and we are vegetarian.
Aside from that, dig in

fizzy drinks, sugary drinks, shit food aimed at kid's (like pop tarts and cheese strings) crappy processed meats, minging frozen nuggety things. But we also hate all that alfalfa and mung bean muck too!

wannaBe · 18/04/2008 09:45

ah, in which case noooo I scertainly don't buy processed cheese.

I don't buy chicken nuggets either and fortunately ds doesn't like them so it's not an issue.

Most things I don't consider banned as such as wouldn't not allow ds to have most things if out, the only exception is fizzy drinks - I won't allow him to have those.

Anything with cheap/nasty meat
Anything with an ingredient list that read like a periodic table
Fizzy drinks/Squash

Other than that nothing, DD occasionally has mcdonalds, she loves fish and chips and we're pretty meh about other stuff

morethanmum · 18/04/2008 09:47

jojosmaman · 18/04/2008 09:59

Battery chicken/ eggs
Ready meals
Celery (because its the devils food and will not taint my fridge!!!)

AitchTwoOh · 18/04/2008 10:02

banned? nothing as such. but i like cooking so there are some things i wouldn't think of buying, iykwim? like i didn't know until now that you could buy microwave omelettes for example.

however... i LOVE full-fat coke, it's delicious, and probably about once a week dd has a cm or so of it topped up with water when me and dh are having a can. it's all of our special friday night treat. and i like jaffa cakes too!

cory · 18/04/2008 10:02

fizzy drinks are not usually allowed in the house (except mineral water for dinner parties)-

though I admit I will let them have them when we go to the hospital; most of my prinicples are left at the door of the General

cheap chemical cordials

chicken nuggets and other Shapes

processed cheese and other yucky "children's lunch box foods"

we tend not to have much processed food, but I wouldn't say it's banned as such, more that I don't buy it

MrsWeasley · 18/04/2008 10:07

not banned by us but Fish for DS2 because he thinks he is one and refuses to eat a relative

annemarie29 · 18/04/2008 10:08

battery eggs. i hate my dc eating Macdonald's and burger king but not banned, just because my sister lets her twins have it when we go out with her so mine want it too. feels mean to say no to them when their cousins are eating it!

gagarin · 18/04/2008 10:10

I love vegetable salad...

GrrrlInterrupted · 18/04/2008 10:12

DS1 isn't allowed tea / coffee / fizzy drinks / added salt. I do allow him the occassional chip / sweet / crisp, but they are occassional.
