Tandem Pushchair Recommendations

Has anyone got any tandem pushchair recommendations where the second seat isn’t cramped/still has a good view?

I’m due in June and my toddler will have just turned two, and I’m down a rabbit hole of searching for double pushchairs. I would prefer a side-by-side as I don’t like the idea of my toddler being cramped in a tandem seat where he can’t see out etc. But then I’m thinking I’ll probably only need a double pushchair for a year or so, and it would be useful to have a tandem that can also be used as a single pushchair for when my toddler is at nursery, or the baby is in the sling.

Can anyone recommend a decent tandem where the lower/back seat still has a good view? Extra marks if it’s easy foldable 🤣 My little boy absolutely loves being nosey out of his pushchair and I wouldn’t want to disturb that!

This thread is a little old now so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you've landed here looking for double pushchair recommendations, we've recently updated our best double buggies page with lots of great options, as tried and tested by Mumsnet users. We hope you find it useful. 💐 MNHQ

Unhelpful input, but do you need a buggy? There’s 23 months between mine and haven’t needed a double. I used a carrier in the first instance. Then used a buggy board but mostly at 2.5yo the toddler walks. Unless you’re doing huge distances I didn’t find it necessary, he can walk 2-3 miles comfortably.

This isn’t unhelpful at all and I’ve thought the same! But I’ve also got a five year old in school so we will be doing the school drop-off/pick-ups so thought a double would be helpful. At the moment I can imagine my wriggly 20 month old ever standing still on a buggy board or walking nicely next to a pushchair 🤣
