Anybody have three boys?

IlanaK · 13/03/2008 15:31

I have two boys already and found out today that this next baby will be a boy too. My older ones will be 7 and 4 (just) when the baby is born. They get on really well and play together a lot.

I am just wondering what its like with three boys. I live in a flat with no outside space and already find the need for physical activity and the noise a challange! On the otherhand I sort of like the idea of my own little gang of boys.

I am one of two girls, and I know only one other person with three boys. So any experiences welcome!

I know someone with 4 boys, but I'm not going to tell you what it's like whenever I visit her, because I want you to have a relaxing pregnancy

FANTASTIC - DS1 and 2 were 6 and 3 when DS3 was born (now 7 and 4, DS3 9 months old). He's a bit mobile now (crawling/dragging himself around) and his older brothers ADORED him).

I have three. It's errmm, fun! My oldest is a girl, and she is more into sitting and doign things now and the three boys run riot together. They jsut needs tons of exercise.

IlanaK · 13/03/2008 15:50

I am already trying to address the need for excercise by redoing their bedroom. I am adding a knotted climbing rope hanging form the ceiling next to a wall ladder they alredy have. And I am getting a "jumping cushion" which is like an indoor trampoline. I do take them out a lot of course, but I just can't imagine the noise levels when we have three!

My friend has three, they have to be regularly exercised, like dogs.
I have actually seen them climbing the bookcases when bored, so sign them up for every sports club you can find. With any luck in the future you can off load all three for hours at a time. And yuo can reuse clothes sad infinitum too.
And they eat a lot too so keep the fridge filled.

I have 3 boys - 6,4 and 13m. The big ones say poo and bum a lot and think it's very funny so I guess I (and you) have a bit more of that to come

Not quite sure what I'd do with a girl now to be honest!

IlanaK · 13/03/2008 15:52

My friend with three boys said the same thing about food - says its impossible to fill them up! My eldest already eats a lot - can't imagine three of them doing that!

I have 4, as do several other mnetters. Mine are 2,4,6 and 8. they are great but knackering.

I have only one comment - prepare yourself for a lot of washing.

3madboys · 13/03/2008 15:58

i have three boys and am currently overdue with no 4 (also a boy) the others are 8, 5 and just 3. life is fun but slightly chaotic and VERY loud at times

seriously its great, i am pleased no 4 is a boy, they play well together, yes they fight and squabble at times but they spend hours playing lego, building dens etc, i seriously wouldnt have it any other way, boys are fab

dizzydixies · 13/03/2008 15:59

Dizzydixies - just realised, for your mission you need to know that my last name is not the same as my children. Their last name starts with a C and is quite long.

I have two boys and one girl in the middle, and I often think how much simpler life would be if they were all boys.

floaty · 13/03/2008 16:23

I have three boys ,14,11 and 6.actually my two eldest are quite quiet,ds1 is bookworm, ds2 is car and animal mad and ds3 is just mad!but i wouldn't swap them for the world they are funny and kind and comapssionate and frustrating all at once ( they don't do multi tasking though!!)I have several friends in RL with 3 or more boys and we have regular meetings of the 3 boys club to discuss rock music ,selective deafness, football ,cricket and the other delights of living in an all male household and complain about all the SMOGs (smug mothers of girls) in the playground....only joking we love them really!

dizzydixies · 13/03/2008 16:57

right, its done

buttercreamfrosting · 13/03/2008 17:15

3 boys ages 5, 3, 1.5. S'wonderful - truly! They're a very close happy 'tribe'. They fight and wrestle and shout and eat mountains of food but they also take care of each other, make each other laugh until they nearly wet themselves (actually my youngest probably is wetting himself)and are constantly hugging. Or possibly plotting. All three have very different personalities and I did wonder how on earth ds3 was going to be able to gain acceptance into the gang of two but he's managed it with a lot of charm (and at times muscle ) Enjoy!

Belgianchocolates · 13/03/2008 19:02

Ilanak, sorry this is a bit later, had to cook dinner and stuff. But I can only describe my friends as living in a continuous state of mayhem (her ds's are 9,6,4 & baby). It's not that they're always fighting or arguing, it's just that boys have soooo much energy and are soooo boisterous. Whenever they've all visited it's like a whirl wind has visited my house and I just need a moment to catch my breath. I've got one of each and I think my dd somehow has a slightly calming effect on the energy of my ds, IYKWIM.

captainmummy · 13/03/2008 19:07

I've got 3 boys and thought my house was mad enough! Mine are 15, 11 and 9, and the oldest and youngest get on well, and the second and youngest get on well, but the eldest and 2nd don't, IYSWIM. Anyway, the houe is full of mud, lego, ipods and washing. I dont know what to do with girls, they don't play the PS3!
