Anybody have three boys?

I have two boys already and found out today that this next baby will be a boy too. My older ones will be 7 and 4 (just) when the baby is born. They get on really well and play together a lot.

I am just wondering what its like with three boys. I live in a flat with no outside space and already find the need for physical activity and the noise a challange! On the otherhand I sort of like the idea of my own little gang of boys.

I am one of two girls, and I know only one other person with three boys. So any experiences welcome!

I have three boys and one girl. Boys are far nicer than girls - they have honest and decent running through them like sticks of rock.

Lucky you!

Swedes- I completely agree with you. I also have 3 boys and a girl and my DD is more trouble than the 3 boys put together!!!

Three boys sounds heavenly, I'm quite jealous

I have three boys, aged 8, 6 and 3. I love having an all-boy gang.

uptomyeyes · 14/03/2008 14:03

3 boys here aged 10, 6 and 2.

On bad days they do bounce off the walls a bit. But we have a big garden and I send them all out to climb trees, kick balls hurl themselves at each other. They are incredibly confident and physical fellows, but can all be so gentle too.

My biggest problem is trying to work out who is who in baby pictures because boys clothes don't really go in and out of fashion and they all have hand me downs. I have to scrutinise the background of photos for clues!

I also worry about contact with girls as they are likely to go to our local secondary school which is boys only.

You love what you've got because you don't know it any other way. I have two girls and dd3 is due in July. Three boys sounds like a nightmare to me, but I'm sure if my girls were all boys I'd be saying that it's fantastic!

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 14/03/2008 17:46

yes to the honesty swedes

spade is a spade with boys noooooot so with my girl

sweetkitty · 14/03/2008 17:47

I was thinking the same DD3 Due in July we need some bigging up for 3 girls now! 3 of a kind what could be better?

northernrefugee39 · 14/03/2008 18:44

sweet- we have three girls... they are wonderful. And they're not badly behaved and only a bit door slammy (eldest 13 )
they are really good friends and you get kudos from a set of girls too...

and cod, husband isn't jealous of our three sets of good friends who have three boys btw

northernrefugee39 · 14/03/2008 18:46

I think people say girls are more trouble, but I think that's a gross generalisation and stereotyping. And self fullfilling prphecy...and , and , boys GRUNT when they're teen agers, I prefers the shout and slam...

I am expecting my 4th boy. My boys are 11, 9 and 3. Ds3 idolises ds1 and everybody in the house obeys ds3!
Am very worried for ds4 when he is born, I don't think ds3 will like a usurper to the Baby of The Family throne!

i have 4 boys with 8 years between oldest and youngest, only downside is the clothes are boring. i took up knitting so problem solved!

they are very affectionate, sometimes it take for ever to get from one side of the room to the other cos they all want kissing and cuddling all the time. i wouldnt change them for the world.

deffo lots of exercise. you will need wellies, rainy days are the pits if you dont have waterproofs.

i got loads of comments like how disappointing, are you going to try for a girl etc when i told people ds4 was a boy but i didnt want a girl after ds3, i like the tribe thing. no offence to mums of girls but im just not as keen on them
