Tots Bots to discontinue Fluffles

lackaDAISYcal · 13/03/2008 15:00

I just had a news letter from The Clean Green Nappy Machine saying that Fluffles are to be discontinued.

I don't use them, but I know lots do so thought it might be of interest.

Best get buying up all the available stock whilst you still can

"Newsletter 13 March 2008: tots bots de-list fluffles nappies

Just a quick note to let you know that Tots Bots have informed us that they are delisting the Fluffles range, effective immediately.

I've always thought that Fluffles are a really great range, and I'll be sad to see them go. However, knowing Tots Bots, and their constant striving for innovation, I am sure it won't be long before something really good comes along to fill the void left by the sad demise of the Fluffle. Keep watching this space to be the first to find out what that might be...

In the meantime, I am happy to let you know that we do have a small number of Fluffles nappies in our shop now. Stock is extremely limited countrywide, so we're delighted to be able to offer this to our customers. They are currently not visible on our website, as we need to ensure that everyone who has already placed a Fluffles order will receive their nappies. We have been liaising with Tots Bots and have secured all the stock we need to make sure this happens.

The remaining nappies will be re-listed on the site once we have despatched all back-orders, and we will send out an email exclusively to our existing customers, to ensure that you have "first dibs" on those few remaining"

Bamboo tots bots are fab too. Dry quickly and size 2 still fit my 2 year old. Never heard of fluffles!

tassisssss · 13/03/2008 15:50

WowOoo - i use cotton tots regularly but have 2 size one fluffles and these babies dry a WHOLE lot faster. Like overnight on a dryer or about an hour on a radiator. And so fluffly. Love em.

lackaDAISYcal · 13/03/2008 15:50

fluffles are the microfibre ones, practically dry out of the machine.

AdamAnt · 13/03/2008 15:56

NOooooooo!!!! Why would they do that [inconsolable]

I have about 20 of them though. Why am I getting the urge to start stockpiling?

LazyLinePainterJane · 13/03/2008 17:07

Awww farking hell! Was going to use these for DC2!! Bum.

lackaDAISYcal · 13/03/2008 17:38

I'm sure some sellers will have stock at the moment.....buy, buy, buy.

Lollipop have their own version.

Them stopping them is probably due to the new nappy they are releasing - mixture of bamboo/ microfibre - due out end of March or April. Nice but BIG leg holes. Also don;t really see the ebenfit of the combination of fabric - but will get one to try anyway

bobsmum · 13/03/2008 19:30

No - this was going to be my nappy of choice for no3 - especially since they discontinued the nippa bamboozle.

This means I've got to either compromise and get poppers (the work of the devil) or change brand. I'm not ready for the guilt and panic attacks that may bring on....

lackaDAISYcal · 13/03/2008 20:21

bambinex teddy are similar, but have a separate booster rather than a sewn in one . I got one from Flame and it is very good. I'm not sure if they do a nippa one now, but when I bought mine they didn't, so Flame unpicked the applix to make it so.

NOOOO!!!! Was planning on buying loads for my lo due Sept, it's way too early to stock up now (just feels wrong), by the time I'm ready to start buying stuff there'll be none left! I'm so not a bamboo fan either!

lackaDAISYcal · 13/03/2008 20:34

thanks for that info octo . Can't quite see how a bamboo/microfibre combo would work though

looks like bambinex will be cornering the market in microfibre then, and the price of second hand fluffles will go through the roof.

I've found some fluffles here. I've bought some fuzzis from thse ladies and they are very good to deal with.

Out of all the microfibre nappies I have seen and tried the closest to the fluffle is the Little Lamb Microfibre nappy. Has to be aplix fit though but they are very similar in material and fit but not fleece lined (although you can just use your own bit of fleece and get the same effect).

IME the Lollipop softee is popular for newborns but really really bulky in fit (and not fleece lined either).

Seems a bit strange they would immediately delist the fluffle. Maybe the fluffle making machine broke and they decided not to fix it

lackaDAISYcal · 13/03/2008 22:31

lol BigBadMouse.

I fogot Little Lambs did a microfibre one. I loved my cotton little lambs when DD was small. Very, very good at BF poo containment

soph28 · 13/03/2008 22:38

I only have one fluffle but I hardly use it cos it's so bulky on!

I love bamboozles! bobsmum What about the aplix bamboozles? Nippas don't grip on the bamboozles anyway.

soph28 - I had no problems with using the nippa on my babmboozle - but they did shrink loads! I think my drier is hot even on a cool drying cycle!

I like the fit of a nippa - better for b/f poo containment - no leg or back leaks.

Anyone know anything about a nature babies loveable? are they stuffables?

BigBadMouse · 14/03/2008 12:45

They changed the bamboozle fabric and now they work well with nippas - before they had a tendancy to shred the bamboo

bobsmum · 14/03/2008 15:42

lackadaisycal - thank you so much for that link! Have just got 20 (new style) fluffles for £6.50 each!! The old style ones are going for £6 each, but IIRC the newer ones are even softer.

What a bargain!

The lovely lady I spoke to at BooCoo said that Totsbots are about to introduce some new fabric/nappy called a Flexitot, but it's all veiled in secrecy atm.

Hope it's not fab as I've just bought these fluffles, just have to get size 2s in this new wonder nappy
