Tots Bots to discontinue Fluffles

lackaDAISYcal · 13/03/2008 15:00

I just had a news letter from The Clean Green Nappy Machine saying that Fluffles are to be discontinued.

I don't use them, but I know lots do so thought it might be of interest.

Best get buying up all the available stock whilst you still can

"Newsletter 13 March 2008: tots bots de-list fluffles nappies

Just a quick note to let you know that Tots Bots have informed us that they are delisting the Fluffles range, effective immediately.

I've always thought that Fluffles are a really great range, and I'll be sad to see them go. However, knowing Tots Bots, and their constant striving for innovation, I am sure it won't be long before something really good comes along to fill the void left by the sad demise of the Fluffle. Keep watching this space to be the first to find out what that might be...

In the meantime, I am happy to let you know that we do have a small number of Fluffles nappies in our shop now. Stock is extremely limited countrywide, so we're delighted to be able to offer this to our customers. They are currently not visible on our website, as we need to ensure that everyone who has already placed a Fluffles order will receive their nappies. We have been liaising with Tots Bots and have secured all the stock we need to make sure this happens.

The remaining nappies will be re-listed on the site once we have despatched all back-orders, and we will send out an email exclusively to our existing customers, to ensure that you have "first dibs" on those few remaining"

A flexitot???? hmmmmm slight improvement on some of the silly names given to cloth nappies .

Octo - do you think that is the bamboo / microfibre one you mentioned?

katwith3kittens · 14/03/2008 21:23

I never liked Fluffles ... sold them almost immediately after buying them

Octothechildherder · 15/03/2008 14:51

Yes - thats the name - they had it on show at the Baby Show but couldn't take orders as no stock yet.

It was bamboo inside, with micrifbire woven into the core and a white fabric outer - can't remember what it was but not a cover iyswim! Was interesting concept but as said before the leg holes were huge and would be a nightmare with newborn poo - may get one to try though

Not very secret having it at the Baby Show

pmsl. i have to say i never found the fluffles particularly absorbant but they were always soft out of the machine. should be intresting seeing the new nappy

bobsmum · 15/03/2008 18:48

Don't diss the fluffle! You're all meanies! I've always loved it .

Started with ds in the original cotton Tots nearly 6 years ago (erk!)

Dabbled in hemp and waffle. Them minki waffle days were daaaark daaaark days!

Then had a few old style bamboozles and nabbed a handful of fluffles at the last Baby Show - got them as cheap seconds, but could never see what was meant to be wrong with them. They were by far my favourite nappy.

The only downfall is that you either risk using no liner and rely on the sewn in one or use a papery one, because fleece liner on fleece is pretty much waterproof - so not great!

lol at covert operations surrounding Flexitot - wonder if it was sealed in a glass case with laser activated alarm systems

Will be out in time for me baby to move into size 2s - hurrah!

Flamesparrow · 15/03/2008 19:16

I get my fluffles through another site, so at the moment I still seem to be able to stock them - I am putting them at 5% discount though, with an extra 5% if you buy 10 or more.

I will refund any orders if I suddenly can't get them though obv!!!

Orrismum · 25/03/2008 17:23

I know Pure Nappies still have some stock of Fluffles discounted. www.pure-nappies.com

My size 1 Fluffles were great, although I had 2 replaced because of stitching coming undone.

However, when I got the size 2 the whole lot had to be replaced twice, again because all the stitching came undone. Tots Bots were very quick to sort it out, but in the end I plumped for Bamboozles, which have been fine.

Apparently, production had been switched to Turkey. Maybe they just haven't been able to get the quality control right?

Nappyzone · 31/03/2008 20:52

production of the new flexitot is back in glasgow....

Another devastated person. I have a Bambinex teddy too, but really like the fleece lining on the Fluffles, much more convenient than using a separate fleece liner.

My baby isn't due til Oct so it feels much too soon to be buying up stock (superstitious probably).

Sanguine · 14/04/2008 21:57

NOOOOOooooo!

DS is 4 months so will be out of his size 1s in a couple of months. We have no tumble drier, fluffles have been fab for us, once I figured out that I had to give it a firm tug before nipper-ing and use ME wraps instead of those silly tots wraps. I really don't want to go through trying out a load of new nappies at the same time as I'm going back to work. Grr! Bad tots.
