So it will be upon us sooner than we think! 😱🎄🤶

How old are your children and what are you thinking of getting them for Christmas?

Thanks in advance Grin

I was just thinking about this .. I've no idea this year!! Last year I bought them an oculus and it's still the most popular thing ever.. I can't beat that is my fear 🫣 I have two boys 11&12. I'm doing the biggest one's room at the moment-thinking of an Xbox series x on a nice new corner desk. The younger one is easier at least.. loves making things! He's got a 3D printer and enjoys making stuff on that. Stumped 🤔

DD will be 3.5, she got a little Sylvanian Family set for her birthday and loved it, so will probably get some more but will need to look at how we store them because scrambling round looking for a tiny baby elephant thats got lost in her room is exhausting!

MintJulia · 29/09/2023 13:59

I've no idea yet, DS is 15, not really in to brands or clothes. Already has all the tech and sports kit he needs.

I'd better start thinking.

Trying to promote the just a stocking and save for Disneyland Paris idea but it's not going well...

LokiWho221b · 29/09/2023 14:10

I’ve got main presents sorted.

Ds(6) is getting a Gonge carousel
Dd(4)is getting gabbys dollhouse and the add on rooms.

CatMattress · 29/09/2023 14:12

Digital DJ mixing deck for the 9 year old.
Probably tickets for something for the 12 year old (a play or concert).

Plus stockings each and a game for the whole family. That's it.

jolaylasofia · 29/09/2023 14:37

eldest is nearly 16 so a gold bangle, converse and beats ear bud things
middle one is 13 she will want clothes and skin/body stuff and shoes
little one is 2 on christmas eve 🫣 ride in car for his birthday and going to get him a tool set, duplo bricks and a train set.

They all will get obligatory christmas pjs and jumper

SunDaughter · 29/09/2023 15:37

Ours will be 2 years old by christmas. So far we have come up with this…

A toboggan, a bathrobe, warm pajamas, a bath toy with throwing hoops at an octopus, a toy barn with barn animals because she’s REALLY into animals right now, training panties, a potty training book, a training toilet stool, a step stool to wash her hands at the sink with, a new winter bed sheet and comforter set, water proof mattress protectors.

Stocking gifts will include
house shoes
colouring books and crayons
whatever age appropriate crap we can find at the dollar store. 😂
candy and treats

The list may change by the time we get there but so far this is our focus. She’ll probably get a few more toys because we almost always make a list of frivolous last minute purchases.

Wolvesart · 29/09/2023 16:53

Some memberships for streaming, possibly a leather jacket. He’s 18

DappledThings · 29/09/2023 17:30

Fuck knows. It's September. Way too early to think about it. And there's a Christmas board.

MWNA · 29/09/2023 17:31

So far, my 9 year old has a knock off Oodie, a Simon Air, a couple of cards for her Yoto and a Skillmatic card game. There'll be a few bits more. And lots of edible junk.

girlyjim · 29/09/2023 17:39

So far for my 5 yo, I've got scalextrix on my list. Then I'm stuck😂but it's his birthday next week so waiting for that to come up with more ideas.

Amidlifecrisis · 29/09/2023 17:41

Bike for my 5yo, baby born for my 3yo.

Iammetoday · 29/09/2023 17:53

Dd9 wants lego friends boat or bus, poshca pens, earrings
Dd7 wants pokemon or minecarft lego, nothing else yet!

RabbitsRock · 29/09/2023 18:02

We have DD14. Not getting her much at all this year as she’s got a very expensive Taylor Swift ticket for joint birthday/Christmas. She’s on the spectrum & doesn’t cope well with surprises so I’ll probably take her shopping to pick out a few little bits.

I know people always think i’m crazy for shopping for gifts in september but I find it much easier to relax if I just get the gifts part out of the way and then we can focus on the fun frivolous stuff like decorations, visits to santa, seasonal snacks and treats, family traditions (we do lantern walking). And that away we don’t have to worry that we are taking away from the gifts aspects when we purchase something because the gifts are already there.

Bunny2006 · 29/09/2023 20:55

My baby will be 11 months old and I buy bits from Aldi as I see them in the middle aisle like books and bought some bits on Amazon prime day. I hope they will be age appropriate I got a couple of rattles/activity shaker things, shape sorter, the Tommy squeaky eggs, books (lift the flap/feel ones), soft toy tissue box with different fabrics inside. I'll split these between Christmas and her birthday the following month

WhenTheDragonsCame · 30/09/2023 07:13

DD15 wants a sofa for her bedroom

DD13 wants a day bed, new desk and to have her room painted

I miss the days when they just wanted a new doll!

Theredjellybean · 30/09/2023 07:21

Mine our young adults...still get stockings but these are more expensive as filled with their favorite make up and shampoo and dd2 likes Calvin Klein underwear so new pants are $$$

Dd1aged 24 is getting a pair of skis
Dd2 aged 19 is getting an interrail pass for her travelling next spring.

Dsd1 aged 23 is getting clothes and a new coat
Dsd2...I don't know, she is unwell with anorexia and in hospital, so difficult to buy for...but she gets very cold so I'm thinking cashmere lounging PJs type thing.

Phos · 30/09/2023 07:36

Well my plan was to get DD6 a bike but she needed it over summer because she was just too big for the other.

Basketball hoop and ball
Skateboard
Remote Control Car
Guinness Book of Records
Dressing Gown

thats all I’ve really come up with so far

Ohthatsabitshit · 30/09/2023 07:39

I buy presents in the three weeks of December that come before Christmas.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 30/09/2023 07:50

I've bought DD10 some Tom gates and rowley Jefferson books and a Guinness book of records. She wants some moisturiser for some reason. Maybe a bike and she's outgrown hers

WaitingfortheTardis · 30/09/2023 07:50

Dd is getting a Barbie house, she won't be expecting it so I hope it will be a nice surprise!

Hibernatalie · 30/09/2023 09:30

Head over to the Christmas board, loads of ideas there!

For me, DD7 is so far getting: Barbie Dream Camper Van, reborn doll and accessories, puzzle, books, craft kit, colouring pens and paper, onesie

DS5: Playmobil castle, pirate ship, ninjago Lego, books, puzzle, craft kit, colouring pens and paper, onesie. Also wants a Robo alive lizard and chomp shark.

They also get new pjs, a teddy and a bath bomb on Christmas Eve and a stocking of little bits.
