1 year old sleep schedule

Any mums of 1 year olds care to share their child’s sleep schedule? I.e. when they nap and fall asleep at bedtime.

My 17 month olds sleep is all over the place. No routine, always followed his lead but it’s not working well anymore and I think we both need a bit of structure!!

13m DD
6:30-7:30 - wake
9:45 - 10am - nap (we are trying to drop this but I find this just gets her through the morning)
12:30-2:30 - nap

Here is a schedule from the app I use for your DC's age. I've used these schedules since she was 4 weeks and they have really helped me.

I have 16.5 month old and usually whatever time she wakes up (anything from 5am onwards) she is ready for a nap 4-5h after, sleeps 2-2.5h and then awake 5-7h before bedtime.

cakefortea22 · 01/09/2023 21:22

18 month old dropped her afternoon nap just before she turned one which I was not expecting. Still has a long morning nap from about 10 to 11:30-12. Then awake for the rest of the day. Bath and about 6:30 then bed for 7 and she tends to be up with the lark at 5:30-6. If we pushed bedtime back she may sleep in longer but because she doesn't sleep in the afternoon she's usually nodding off by then.

Is that the Little Ones app? I've been following their schedules with my now 17 month old since he was about 4 months and it's worked well for us so far.

He wakes between 6:30 - 7:30, has a nap from 12:15 - 14:30 and goes to bed at 19:00.

fedupofbeingbroke · 01/09/2023 22:04

@24HoursFromTulseHill yes! I love it. Has really helped me as a very clueless first time mum!

@fedupofbeingbroke Thank you!
I actually downloaded this app today, would you say you need to pay to get all the benefits or is it still good without?

14 month old.

wakes: 8am
nap: 11am-2pm ish
bed: 7pm

VelvetBeige · 02/09/2023 21:07

@Olika thanks, that’s helpful to know. My boys awake time before his nap is around 4/5 hours too but for some reason he can go upto 8 hours until bedtime. It’s a nightmare bcus some nights he’s not asleep till 9/10pm.

22 month old, wakes for the day around 7am, nap roughly 1-2:30, bed at 8:30

Olika · 02/09/2023 21:19

I had this for some time too. My DD would be awake 7-9 before bedtime which I knew should have been too long for her age. To me it looked like a food issue as when I started giving her more food she went back towards 5-6h (sometimes 7h if previous night was good and 2.5h nap). Some evenings I do have to help her to relax and fall asleep by keeping her in a dark bedroom and rocking her on my arms even when she tries to escape. I keep doing this and suddenly she relaxes and falls asleep.

12m old

Wakes 8am
Naps anywhere between 11.30am and 2.30pm for between 45min and 2 hrs.
(Nap 6pm for 45min if had short nap earlier)
9pm bed

Cluelessfirstimer · 02/09/2023 21:34

14 months

Wakes: between 7 and 8
Nap - 11-2 (sometimes 12-3...ish)
Bedtime- between 7 and 8.

The 11-2 is annoying because it messes with lunch and dinner but if it's looking like he will want a nap around 11 I will get him something quick like a sandwich and some fruit just before.
To be fair he absolutely loves his food and will eat anything whenever...

Good luck. Finding the routine that works can take a while and a bit of trial and error

I’ve got a 16 month old who’s always been at the lower end of suggested sleep amounts. It’s blowing my mind that there are all these tots napping for 2 hours! I could get so much done!

DD wakes 0630-0730ish. Has a nap around 11/12 o’clock for 45-90 mins. Goes to sleep for the night around 1900-2000, depending on her nap time/length.

Hi OP, fellow 17 month old. Ours is fairly simple -

awake around 7 (but ranges from 6.30-7.30)
Breakfast pretty immediately
Lunch around 12
Nap around 1 for about an hour/1hr15 (will wake her if any longer)
Dinner around 5
Start bedtime routine 6.30 (dressed for bed, bottle of milk, messing about in the cot for a bit and then lights out) and normally asleep around 7.15
Sometimes she wakes in the night but a quick feed settles her back immediately.

Hope that helps! Xx

17 month old here. He wakes maybe 06:30ish naps at midday for anything from 1hr to 2.5hrs then in bed (after bath and story etc) at 1845 and is usually asleep by 1900. He sleeps through till morning. This is pretty similar to what his sister was doing at his age but she was an epic napper in comparison and we would sometimes get a 3hr one.

Do you ever wake him from nap? I always cap hers at about an hour cos I'm scared she'll wake super early in the mornings if she has too much day sleep

If it makes you feel better, my eldest never really napped beyond 18 months, but I still got way more done than I do now with my youngest who naps for two hours a day.

When my youngest isn’t asleep, he’s literally destroying everything. I can’t leave him for a second or he’ll try to die.

My eldest didn’t nap but I could at least give her a toy and go for a pee.

ToughFuss · 02/09/2023 23:42

My boys a wee bit older now but at that age, he was doing 6:30pm-7:15am then napping roughly 12-2, sometimes a bit less.

I didn't know you could have a version without paying - tbh I just use it for the schedules as the advice in the "villages" from the sleep consultants is pretty standard - white noise, total darkness, wind down routine etc.

Ankerdam · 03/09/2023 10:25

16m
Wake - 0730-0830 usually
Nap - 4 hours later for around 1 hour
Bed - 7-8 hours later

That's her rhythm, nothing is/was ever pushed by me

Olika · 03/09/2023 10:36

Do your toddlers sleep to 7-7.30ish straight or do they wake up at some point at night?

SOSWhen · 03/09/2023 11:11

@Olika mine sleeps straight through.

Cowlover89 · 03/09/2023 11:17

16month old wakes between 6 and 8. Will give him a boobie and he'll go down for another hour or 2. I refuse to get up at 6. If he wakes up at 8 he naps between 1 and 2. And bed time can vary between 8 and 10.

Cowlover89 · 03/09/2023 11:17

My baba sleeps through but if he does wake up he always goes back down after a boob

Stirs for the boob multiple times but never "wakes up"
