just curious as DS was 9lb 6oz!!! Resulting in a c section

I’ve heard babies get bigger ? So your next baby is bigger?? Is this true??

I had DS at 39+4 and that was his weight

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Mine didn't. 7lbs8oz, 6lbs, 6lbs7oz.

UnbeatenMum · 02/01/2023 14:03

My 2nd was smaller if that helps! I'm not sure what the general trend is though.

dementedpixie · 02/01/2023 14:06

Only 2oz difference between my 2 - 1 girl and 1 boy

Mine did.

DC1 - 8lb12oz
DC2 - 9lb2oz
DC3 - 9lb5oz

I'm currently expecting baby #4 so guessing this one is going to be a bit heavier again 😬

EddietheEagle · 02/01/2023 14:12

Mine didn't.

  1. 7lb 7oz
  2. 7lb 1oz
  3. 7lb 1oz
Boooooot · 02/01/2023 14:15

Mine did.
7 pound 1
10 pound 4!

Both 3 weeks early!

MumChats · 02/01/2023 14:15

My second was 4 ounces smaller. Good luck!

strawberrysummer19 · 02/01/2023 14:15

My first was 9lb 40+1

My second was 8lbs 3 39+1

X

Myeyeballsareonfire · 02/01/2023 14:16

Mine did: 8 11, 9lb, 9lb 9 & 9lb 14. All very straightforward, vaginal births.

SpinningFloppa · 02/01/2023 14:17

mine was 8lbs 9 then 10lbs 4!!! (And that was a vaginal birth. 😟) then 9lbs 4 then 8lbs 13 so not sure there is any pattern to it

Mindystryder · 02/01/2023 14:19

No my first was the biggest and they got progressively smaller.

Ayeaken · 02/01/2023 14:19

Generally yes, but not always. My mum had 3, each heavier than the other. I have 2, DS1 was 7lbs 13oz, DS2 was 8lbs 5oz.

FizzyStream · 02/01/2023 15:48

Mine only slightly did.
Number 1 was 7lb6oz and number 2 was 7lb11oz.

CurlyNo2 · 02/01/2023 16:41

DS 1 - born 40+1 at 8lb 2oz (forceps as he got very stuck)
DS 2 - born 39+1 at 8lb 11.5oz (c-section due to size as first got stuck and this baby was going to be significantly bigger so for safety reasons had to have ELCS)

dakel · 02/01/2023 17:03

Mine were 8lb7 at 41 weeks 7lb13 at 40 weeks and 7lb14 at 39 weeks

Findyourneutralspace · 02/01/2023 17:06

Mine did- 8lb 2oz and 9lb 8oz, but the second was the easier delivery (both vaginal)

Angelicapickles1 · 02/01/2023 17:08

Mine weighed exactly the same. They say you do tend to bake around the same weight, but weight doesn't equal c section that's more due to position amd your anatomy. Some women quite easily birth 10lbers one after the other.

Kentlassie · 02/01/2023 17:47

5lb 13oz, 5lb 13oz, 5lb 14oz and…….9lb exactly!!

QueenWenceslas · 02/01/2023 17:49

Mine did. My first was 7lbs 1oz and my second was 8lbs 5oz.

ProserpinaProserpina · 02/01/2023 17:55

1st was 8lbs1 5oz at 41 weeks (boy)
2nd was 8lbs 1oz at 40 weeks (girl)

Doubt there’d have been much in it if she’d cooked for another week.

serenghetti2011 · 02/01/2023 17:56

Mine got smaller 1st 9lb 5oz
2 & 3 7lb babies then 4th was 8lb 13 he was 2 weeks overdue.

Yuja · 02/01/2023 17:58

That's what they say but mine didn't

DC1 - 8lb 7.5
DC2 - 7lb 14

Both within a day of their due date

2chocolateoranges · 02/01/2023 17:59

Mine did
8lbs then
8lbs 13oz.

TerfOnATrain · 02/01/2023 18:00

My second was five Oz smaller, she was also born on her due date and her earlier sibling was a week late.

I don’t think it’s true.

Daftasabroom · 02/01/2023 18:01

I misread that, mine are both 6'2" so of course they get bigger.
