in front of your children?

So for example your in the room with your children and calling to their dad in another room. Or just in general conversation with each other but dc are around.

dc is 10 months and I’m starting to feel like I should call him daddy in front of dc not his name but I feel silly. We both use each others first names to get each others attention. But if we were talking to dc then it’s mummy and daddy I.e. pass the ball to daddy

There are a lot of different ways of being affectionate and loving besides using your dh's pet name! We write it in cards and use it between ourselves at times as we've had the pet names for a while, before we married. It's just not, "Can you pick up some milk please snuggle bunny'! Each to their own though.

Tbf the context of use them between you makes a lot of difference. You said you didn't, only used them for cards. My other suggestion was they were bedroom names so clearly closer to the mark.

By his name if talking to him - my son is 24 now, so don't use dad either
