does anyone feel cheated when have lardge newborn?

My DS 2 was 9 1/2 pound at birth and is now 7 weeks and over 13 lb! He seemed to be a tiny newborn for such a short period of time (2 days!) i feel like i blinked and missed it.

Don't get me wrong, I am besotted with him and graeful that he is here (had missed mc last year)but i was interested to see if anyone else feels this way.

My 3rd was 9lb 6oz delivered at 37 weeks via c-section. She was ventilated for a few days in SBCU and looked massive compared to the other babies.

I had 8lbs 8oz and then 9lbs 9oz...guess why I didn't go for No.3 [grin}

Both are skinny as anything now and both were appalling sleepers....

Ds was 9lb 10 at birth, now he's nearly 6ft and takes size 12 shoes..
Although I did know a woman who gave birth to a 13lb baby

My chunky boy was 11lb 14oz and born at 36.6wks by emergency c-section (thank god, not sure how that would have worked out naturally LOL) had to send hubby out for 0-3 month clothes. Only packed newborn clothes in my hospital bag. Nothing fit him. He's now 7 months old and wears 9-12 month clothes. Not sure how much he weighs now though.

I love this thread. I am fairly petite (8st 6lb and 5ft 2) dd1 was 9lb 11 which is small compared to some of your babies on this thread I know! She was almost a c-section so I was prepped in theatre and several of the staff said "oh what a big baby!" I found it ironic that I had suffered severe hyperemesis yet she reached that weight while I almost faded away.

dd2 arrived in Aug 07 - "only" 8lb 4. However as I am small several of the ward staff commented that she was big while I just laughed. It was nice to get some use out of my newborn and 0-3 clothes. newborn were still brand new as dd1 never fitted them.
