When did your toddler drop their naps?

Exactly that really. How old were your DC when they stopped day naps?

DD was just turned 3. DS is 2.3 and still napping.

yikesanotherbooboo · 04/09/2022 14:16

Middle child was 4 , DC1 was catnapping from 15-18 months, DC3 was also not reliably napping from that age but did usually have a sleep on school run.

MinervaTerrathorn · 04/09/2022 14:16

DC1 was 2.5
DC2 was over 4!
DC3 was just turned 3

Toottooot · 04/09/2022 14:16

Almost 3 and napping as I type this. Long may it last.

basilmint · 04/09/2022 14:17

DC1 just turned two. DC2 was 3.5.

Himawarigirl · 04/09/2022 14:19

Eldest: 2 years 10 months (but had already dropped 3/week at nursery)
middle child - not sure but around that
Youngest: also 2 years 10 months but we’d been down to every other day for 6 weeks or so

CoodleMoodle · 04/09/2022 14:21

2y3m exactly for DD. One day she slept for 2hrs, the next she laid in her cot chatting. After a few days we gave up.

2y2m for DS. He started giving it up on the first day of lockdown but had one every couple of days until it was finally over... on the day DD went back to school!

20viona · 04/09/2022 14:21

About 2 years 8 months

NCHammer2022 · 04/09/2022 14:23

About 2.5. She’ll still fall asleep in the car sometimes though at 4.5.

Muffinsong · 04/09/2022 14:23

4! And she she still loves a nap now as a teen!

UpToMyElbowsInDiapers · 04/09/2022 14:24

Mine stopped daily naps around 2. They would typically still nap at nursery 3-4 times a week, but we’d ask nursery to cap their naps at 45 minutes, otherwise they’d still be bouncing off the walls at 9:30pm! (Normal bedtime was 7:45/8). We didn’t have them nap on weekends.

DCs are now 5 and 3.5. They’ll both nap occasionally in the car on a long journey, or take themselves to bed at 6pm if they’re particularly tired or unwell.

Rinatinabina · 04/09/2022 14:28

2.5yrs completely (naps started declining after 2)

18 months or thereabouts Confused

Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow · 04/09/2022 14:30

Just before 3rd birthday. Anecdotally I’ve seen a lot of kids go through a nap resisting phase around 2 (inc mine) but totally worth pushing through that.

Caspianberg · 04/09/2022 14:31

Ds is 2.4 years. Since turning 2 years he hasn’t had one every day. He naps maybe 2-3 days a week now, and only if in pram or car.

LionessesRules · 04/09/2022 14:42

DC1 days after his second birthday.
DV2 - 3 and a bit, iirc.

Cantthinkofadifferentname · 04/09/2022 14:44

13 months!

ChairOfInvisibleStudies · 04/09/2022 14:47

A bit over 2. He was always a nap resister but at that point it became clear that if he napped for even half an hour at any point in the day he wouldn't go to bed until 9-10 pm, so we dropped the nap to save our evenings and our sanity!

GoAround · 04/09/2022 14:47

DD - over 3 and probably would have kept on if it weren’t for school nursery having no nap provision, still enjoys a car nap at age 5

DS - is 18MO and down to a single 20-30 minute nap, but can and does power through without somedays so I reckon it’ll be gone completely very soon

Margo34 · 04/09/2022 14:58

My DC1 is 23m and seems to be dropping the nap. I'm not ready 😭 Nap time is my happy hour (and a half)!!!

I found it was much easier when I didn't have to factor in naptime anymore, wouldn't have wanted to prolong it. DS started sleeping longer at night as well.
