B: American style blueberry pancakes with yoghurt and raspberries

L: pasta with Philadelphia cheese and sweetcorn, blackberries

D: lamb mince kebab, rice and tomato and cucumber salad with cucumber and garlic yoghurt, mango

Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas · 24/08/2022 08:43

At 1 you should start adding snack. My youngest is 3 so maybe not helpful but there is a vast difference between the lovely balanced food I provide and what they actually eat.

safetyfreak · 24/08/2022 08:54

My DD (12 month old) is also allergic to eggs

B- Weetabix with raspberries- half a yogurt pot
Snack- baby rice cake, banana pudding pot
L- beans and cheese
D- mash potato and peas
S- biscuit

I do offer fruit at meal time but she just throws them on the floor.

Absolutely, what I'd like to provide- salmon with ratatouille and pasta, what my DD would like to eat- sausage, beans and chips 🙄

I occasionally offer snack now but am still BF on demand so figure she gets snacks that way

Are you doing the milk ladder under a dietician? And are you planning on trying the egg ladder after?

I've been waiting for a referral for 6 months, tried the milk ladder by myself and got to step 3 before she reacted - so now we've stopped and just waiting for an appt

Ohh good idea I love it! Just about to get the 1 y/o down for his nap but will be back to read and add mine

WhatAFrog · 24/08/2022 13:18

Quorn cocktail sausages contain egg OP

ExPatHereForAChat · 24/08/2022 13:28

Dairy and egg allergies here too OP (among others).
There's now some solid research to tryintroducing as many foods as possible in the early days, to prevent further allergies from developing (things like nuts, seeds, legumes etc). So I'd try and get as many of these in as possible at this age.

My LO is now 2.5 but a typical day at one was:

Banana or weetabix / rice krispies with oat milk

Rice cake with peanut or almond butter
Or
Slice of melon and some blueberries

Cooked veggies with mince lamb or beef
Or
Pasta and tuna with olive oil and vegan cheese

Soy yoghurt with flax and chia seed

Loads of breast milk

(Most meals he just ate a very small portion until his appetite kicked in at about 18 months)

GoAround · 24/08/2022 13:28

Breakfast- 2 Weetabix with soy milk (he’s lactose intolerant), small handful of raspberries
Snack- 2 bribery transport themed biscuits from Gails
Lunch- pasta with tomato sauce, salad of avocado, cherry tomato and cucumber
Snack- half a banana
Dinner- sausages, mash, broccoli and peas (the veg was mostly ignored), followed by a petit filous

ExPatHereForAChat · 24/08/2022 13:31

Also, don't those quorn sausages contain egg and milk? If she's tolerating these, continue them in her diet and let the allergist know as it could mean she's outgrowing

Namechange192727171 · 24/08/2022 13:40

Breakfast: One weetabix with milk

D - pulled jackfruit on sweet potato with carrot and asparagus. Fruit and yoghurt for dessert.

Today:
B - shredded wheat and fruit

D - will be a mixed bean chilli with leftover carrots from yesterday.

WalkingOnSonshine · 24/08/2022 13:55

Nearly 20 month old.

Yesterday was a nursery day so 3 meals at nursery, plus spaghetti bolognaise, cucumber and fruit for tea.

Today he’s had banana and honey on toast with cheerios and blueberries for breakfast.

He’s had some birthday cake and a glass of milk at about 10.30.

Dinner will be a bit of a picky plate - cheese, ham, apple, cucumber, pepper, malt loaf and Pom Bears. Maybe some yoghurt after.

Not sure about tea. We’re having a takeaway later, so might do him dippy eggs or a cheesy broccoli omelette. Probably more cake too (there’s a birthday in the house!)

Campolini · 24/08/2022 13:56

My lo 13 months. Also egg allergy

b - slice of toast with Nutella, bowl of cheerios & milk, 4 strawberries and a yoghurt

l - philladelphia sandwich, box of raisins, sliced pear & cucumber & some crispy things

T - (hasn't had it yet but will eat the lot) salmon fillet, new potatoes, peas & carrots

S - full banana , some biscotti & veg sticks

Bottle of milk before bed

DandelionNumber12 · 24/08/2022 14:42

@Campolini out of interest, do you have to mash up the salmon and potatoes for your DS, or does he manage them in big chunks?

My DS still needs things to be mashed up fairly well. Not as a smooth purée - the rice and shredded up chicken he had for lunch was fine. But anything dry/not mashed tends to come back out unless it's in v small chunks.

AudreyJL · 24/08/2022 14:44

Baby is 13 months and BF on demand throughout the day.

Yesterday:
B: Toast with butter and grapes
L: Garlic soup with garlic bread
D: Chicken pot pie, corn on the cob and honeydew melon

Today:
B: Cornflakes + cheerios with milk, grapes and crackers
L: Leftover chicken pot pie and honeydew melon
D: will be shepherd's pie

DandelionNumber12 · 24/08/2022 14:48

@AudreyJL was garlic soup a typo? 🙂

MGee123 · 24/08/2022 14:52

5oz whole milk bottle
B: 1 weetabix with whole milk and approx half banana
L: boiled egg with bread and butter, yoghurt, raspberries
Cup of whole milk
T: Pasta with broccoli, spinach and peas with soft cheese, yoghurt, blueberries
S: rice cakes with peanut butter

goldsparklyChocolate · 24/08/2022 15:10

My dd is nearly 2 she eats on a typical day

-small banana, a few strawberries or raspberries and 6oz drink of milk (Kendamil toddler)

-sandwich (2 slices 50/50 bread) with a filling like houmous and grated carrot or chicken or cheese or tuna Mayo) today she had chicken.
cucumber, carrot and tomatoes

-dinner is a small portion of whatever we are having. Sometime she has Greek yogurt and berries if still hungry (probably 2-3 times a week). Tonight we will be having stir fry with tofu

-6oz Kendamil toddler milk before bed

dd is very big for her age we went through a lot earlier his year as HV wasn’t happy with her size we had to have a lot of input dietician etc and some tests . She’s fine but possibly autistic and they think maybe she was filling up on milk too much when younger

Hi,

No I just flake it up a bit, and the potato's I just chop them different sizes, she picks them up and eats or bites. X

My oldest had cmpa and youngest allergic to cm, soya and coconut. With the milk ladder if they failed a step I was told to just drop back to the step they passed.

cirillaofcintra · 24/08/2022 15:26

DD - turning 12mo in a couple of weeks and has an egg allergy. We are also a veggie household, though we've opted for her to have meat and fish at nursery.

First thing - Beaker of cow's milk.

B - Porridge with stewed plums on top and a third of a banana after.

L (early as we had swimming at 12): Crackers with Philadelphia, few small slices of cheese, quartered grapes, sliced strawberries.

Post-swimming snack: Rice cake and cow's milk.

D - Will be pasta with tomato, lentil and veg sauce (courgette, spinach), either with mascarpone stirred in or some grated cheese on top.
Greek yoghurt and mashed fruit for pudding if she's still hungry.

Before bed - 4/5oz formula

MDevane86 · 24/08/2022 15:33

Hi OP,

Yes milk ladder under the dietitian. Sorry to hear you failed stage 3. Are you doing the 6 or 12 step milk ladder?

In some areas, the wait for an appointment is getting ridiculous however I would say I'm quite lucky, waited around 5 months and appointment took place when DS was 7 months, started milk ladder around a month ago when he turned 9 months. Just so you are aware, I'm based in Bucks and the appointments with a dietitian are done through zoom and around 15 mums attend.

The croissant I mentioned is for stage 2 of the milk ladder as he wasn't keen on the plain but egg free cake I made. I actually just made some egg free pancakes with milk for stage 3 and DS had one with lunch, no reaction so far so fingers crossed!

Out of curiosity, was your DC a bit prem? I had my DS at 34 weeks.

As for the egg allergy, no idea yet. I tried giving DS a bit of scrambled egg at 6 month and his lips swelled up and had a rash all over his body. So the dietitian referred us for bloods to check for iGe mediated reactio and have advised us to avoid egg completely. The wait is meant to be a lifetime. To be honest, I've given the odd bit of normal cake and ice cream with no reaction so far so hoping he's grown out of it.

If you're on Facebook, there's a brilliant CMPA support group you should join:

I hope this helps!
