Do you work full time as a mum of primary and below kids?

Im a full time working mum of a nearly 2 year old. My hours start early but finish early ish too so I tag team with my husband who is the opposite.
Even in my job (teacher) I've had so many comments from mainly women asking how I cope with working full time, and I don't think my husband has ever been asked that. So many things at nursery/school also take place during the school day, like parenting talks etc. So I'm interested, am I very much in the minority of women? It can feel like it sometimes but I really don't know that the status quo is! Do you work full time?

Me and DP are both full time.
I've never had any comments on me working, and no heard any to him either.
I don't know any SAHP though.
As for school meetings, we both take time off (go in lunches) and always go together.

I work 4 days a week in quite a demanding role and have a 5 and nearly 2 yo. I've been quite shocked at how mum-centric a lot of the school stuff is: almost all mums at pick-ups, almost all mums chatting on the whatsapp groups, almost all mums at parties etc. I sometimes feel like yelling "WHERE ARE ALL THE DADS?" but I think that wouldn't make me very popular

So many of the replies to this thread are from people who don’t even work full time!

I work full time with 2 preschoolers in a very demanding job. DH is full time but able to choose the days he works so he works on a weekend day to enable him to take the kids one day a week. I started a thread the other week asking if anyone has a demanding full time job and 3 or more kids and most of the responses basically suggested that I wouldn’t even be able to cope with the primary school years with the 2 kids I’ve got and that they would be seriously disadvantaged by me not being there at the school gates/taking them to activities every day (we have a nanny who can do this). It was really depressing!!

I had 4 under 5 and have always worked full time. Love working and my job. But it has decent work life balance and pays well so I’ve an amazing nanny.

Gosh. Hats off to you. I don't see anything wrong with someone saying how do you do it ... I think they may just think your a bit mad but in a nice way. There was another poster too that said she had 3 under 5. I think your both fab!
