puberty in boys

i'm a girl. i have sisters. i have a science degreee, and taught science to gcse.i have no idea about how puberty happens in those with the y chromosome.
ds told me last week he has some hair on his 'willy' and this morning showed me three long hairs in his armpits. i have asked him never to show me those again. my perfect little baby is being changed beyond all recognition by nature.

please tell me something about this. what happens. when does it happen. what can i expect?
girls are easy. dd has had pmt since she was born. i know all about girls. butboys are unknown.

Tell me about it! I keep telling DH he needs to have a 'talk' with DS1 about fun things like erections, masterbation and wet dreams (as I obviously have no personal experience to draw on). He's too much of a wuss though. I need a really good book (or good blackmail material to 'persuade' my BIL or brother to do it)

DS started getting a few hairy bits at 11.. nothing major.. then nothing much until he was 13 when he voice went squeeky/low and his balls "dropped" (I know this because he was concerned enough to discuss it with me.. "Mum, I don't want to talk to you about this.. but my balls have got big but my willy hasn't.. is this ok?" ). This is normal.. balls first,.. willy next.. (I had to interview DH and other available male friends to check the "ok-ness" of this myself! ).. by the following year, less actually, he was happy with progress of willy.

At 14 he had a proper deep deep voice and v.hairy armpits and the beginnnings of a line of hair under belly button (not sure what was going on in underpants regions but apparently all was well ).. and the beginnings of Bad Attitude.

By 15, Bad Attitude: fully fledged, very hairy, needed to shave face once a fortnight.

To Now.. going on sixteen, last six months has become a man.. there IS another man in my house..! at least he looks like one and thinks he is one, but Teenage (Bad!) Attitude and short fuse gives it away.. he's not all grown up yet. Needs to shave about once a week.. getting a hairy chest. has hairy nipples, needs Forestation Rights on what has grown under arms and in line down belly.

There is a really good book about puberty and sex, think it's called Let's Talk About Sex. Give him that and send him on his way so you can have a good cry about your baby turning into a teenage horror

hmmmm. So this is what I have got to look forward to . I have two DS one approaching 11.

I do have a db but to be honest I cannot remember (tis that long ago) when he started to change iykwim.

My ds is 13 and some of this is coming up His eyes pop out at any scantily clad female on tv and he is desperate to be hairy

If it helps, I have never had ANY dealings with wanking (eg mess).. DH has caught him downstairs watching porn ads for adult channels while clearly having been "in the act" (late at night).. and I had to block 0898 numbers so he couldn't phone the "wank lines" about 18 months ago.. (made him pay for that part of the bill he's run up too!).. but I have had no actual dealings.. they just get on with quietly at every available opportunity for the most part I think.. (DH says they wipe it on a sock and throw sock straight into wash bin to avoid issues with stray tissues being found as his memory serves )

My little boy has just grown past me in height and,as he walked with me to collect DD from her school he put his arm around me in a kind of protective way. It was really strange.
He is 14.
He is bursting hair all over the place amd his voice is changing but the biggest change has been the recent and massive expansion of his chest.He is also quite supidly handsome but has no idea at allat he is.
All the girls at DD's school over the age of 10 were looking at him in that way that girls do .
I manged to hit a few with my bag as we walked past them.

Yes I forgot to say about the changing shape of one's teenage DSs.. I was able to watch this change bare chested (him not me! ) at close range as it happened as he swims for 4 hours a week and I'm on the pool side (pretending to study). He is a sort of triangle shape now.. wide shoulders.. little hips.. flat belly.. bloke shaped chest. Bless him!

Ds is 12 and his voice started getting croaky this year. He has also got a lot broader across the shoulders. I don't think he has any hair yet, but he has started getting embarressed and hiding in the bathroom to get changed. Also getting a bit upset if his sister goes topless.

Anyone else got 2 years between a boy and a girl and found they have started puberty together!

NO this is my worry
dsis 15.5 -i6 ft - no chest - no meat- no triangular shaped just wafer thin - dd 13.5 NO puberty signs at all despite all her friends being 34c! most odd and not what i had expected

My two seem to be heading into it together (18mths apart) - scary scary stuff.

tight now my DD1 and DD2 are in the throe's of it all......altho DD1 (13) is still very petite and altho not flat chested, still only AA cup bra's.......then her VBF walks in and she is bigger than me!!! (that said, ALL od DD1's friends are bigger and taller than me now, so I have every sympathy with DD when she says she feels teeny tiny next to them. She does indeed look about 2yrs younger, and for the most part, she is a few months older.....

DD2 will be the same.(as will DD3 I am sure, altho she will be taller than her sisters as she and DD2 are in the same size clothes already and there is 3yrs between them!)

so hope tho, for my boys, they are in the lead with puberty......seems to be better for them that they get 'manly' properly.

I have two DDs and first DS on the way...main concern is that DH lost his virginity aged 12 the little monster and he looked so sweet and innocent in the photos at that age.

Consultant and I had a good laugh at last scan due to position of DS - lying on his back, left arm and hand behind his head and the right one looked very much like it was on his willy....

wait til he gets pecks! that's really freaky!

oh and as to masturbation... teach them how to load the washing machine, add powder and turn it on. Works in this house!
