Thoughts?
Personally, I don't like it and prefer Jane. A good, solid name with substance. Or am I being boring?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
JungleJimbo · 09/04/2022 13:09

I like Jayne the best

LeavesOnTrees · 09/04/2022 13:10

Never seen this spelling before. She would risk having it misspelt all the time.
It seems strange to add the unnecessary h and y letters.

Greensleeves · 09/04/2022 13:11

It's bloody dreadful.

Jane IS a bit dull, but at least she wouldn't spend her entire life explaining it to everyone.

If it is spelt Jhayne or even Jayne she will have a lifetime of people misspelling it.

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 09/04/2022 13:14

Silly and affected. If you want an interesting name then go for something distinctive, not a very mainstream name that looks as if it’s been misspelt.

Hoppinggreen · 09/04/2022 13:15

Maybe spell it Gaeyenne?

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 09/04/2022 13:15

Whjy wjhoud jhyou do thjat?

CaptainMyCaptain · 09/04/2022 13:20

There were 5 Janes in my year at secondary school (stsrted in 1966) . To distinguish themselves they spelt it Jane, Jayine, Jaine and two other variations I cant remember. Actually registering the name spelt as in the OP is just silly. Jane is a good name due for a come-back like Mary.

MaryBeardsShoes · 09/04/2022 13:24

Jane or Jayne is nice. Was the "h" a typo?

MaryBeardsShoes · 09/04/2022 13:25

Oh, probably not a typo as you've clarified the pronunciation.

LaLaLouella · 09/04/2022 13:26

Absolutely no need to shove a random h in a perfectly good (if a little plain) name.

IlFaitBeau · 09/04/2022 13:28

Aaigh doant noah howaaay ewe wood doo that.

grafittiartist · 09/04/2022 13:28

As someone who has to spell their name every time it's said- please don't!
Jane/ Jayne is lovely. And there won't be many others with the name any way.

Fuuuuuckit · 09/04/2022 13:29

Nope. I have a regular name that people still get wrong by missing a letter out (both common spellings).
Jayne will have enough problems 'with a y', adding the h is a real dick move in a pretentious look-at-me parent way. Don't do it

Hummingbirdcake · 09/04/2022 13:31

Jane is the nicest version.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 09/04/2022 13:32

Ih wouhld gho forh Jane, persohnhally.

latriciamcneal · 09/04/2022 13:33

Why would you just spell something strangely like that? Enjoy having to spell your name constantly for others? Just be Jane for god's sake.

Maybeitstimeforachange · 09/04/2022 13:33

Hard nope.

Springhassprunggrasshasrizz · 09/04/2022 13:43

Jhayne is a hard no from me. Your poor DD will spend her entire life getting annoyed at having to spell it out!

dworky · 09/04/2022 13:44

1forAll74 · 09/04/2022 13:45

i would be wondering why people would think it necessary to put an H in the name, it looks quite odd., and spoils a nice, good old fashioned name.. People do sometimes have these quirky notions to be different though.

JaninaDuszejko · 09/04/2022 13:46

Jane is the elegant choice. I know a really lovely (adult) Jane so highly approve.

GeorgiaMcGraw · 09/04/2022 13:46

I prefer Janye. As in Janye West.

LouisRenault · 09/04/2022 13:46

Just Jane.

Not even Jayne - the y doesn't serve any purpose. And autocorrect doesn't recognise it.

Janie is a pretty nickname, or in the past Jenny was a recognised nickname for Jane.

Or double barrel it with another name, along the lines of Mary Jane or Sarah Jane

There's a girl at in my DC's school who will forever be known as Isabella Withawhy as in reception she was in a class with Isabella A, Isabella B, Isabella C, Isabella D - and she's an Ysabella. Don't make a Jane Withanhaitch-andawhy.
