Which baby was your biggest?

Just out of curiosity! Had ELCS at 39 weeks exactly due to babies position and they came out at a rather large 9lb 5oz!

Which didn’t really affect me as it was a planned c section, no struggle. I did just wonder if future babies would be bigger or is there no pattern?

Which one of your children was the biggest/was there any pattern?

The third one was the biggest at birth, but she also stayed in the longest.

Frazzlerock · 28/02/2022 15:26

Really hard to gauge for us.

DS1 - 9lb 12oz. But he was 12 days late (and was an emergency section thank fuck)

DS2 - 8lb 5oz. But he was 3 days early due to planned section.

DS3 - 5lb 7oz. But he was 6 weeks early (different father also)

So if they'd all arrived at the same gestation they may have all been roughly the same, maybe? Dunno!

DC1 : 8lbs 40+10
DC2: 9lb 6 42+1
DC3: 11lb 4 42+2
DC4- 7lb13 39weeks. planned section due to placenta problems (monitored throughout due to that and concerns I would have another big baby)

1st baby - 1 week late (7 pounds 8 ounces)
2nd baby - on time (8 pounds 6 ounces)
3rd baby - 1 week early (7 pounds 13 ounces)

MondeoFan · 28/02/2022 15:29

DD1 6lb 8
DD2 7lb 13

I've heard 2nd babies are normally bigger

AegonT · 28/02/2022 15:33

My second baby was a week+ overdue but smaller than my 1 day early first born. Both girls.

ladygindiva · 28/02/2022 16:24

dc 1 , 7lb 7, 41+4
dc 2 and 3 , twins, 6lb 9 and 6lb 2, born at 37+1 by elcs. I suspect the twins may have both been larger than their elder sibling if left to term...

Pootle40 · 28/02/2022 16:25

First 9lb 11oz, second 8lb 3oz. Both boys, first one 14 days overdue, second one 7 days overdue.

LowlyTheWorm · 28/02/2022 16:29

Weirdly my first boy- first baby- was lighter than my second boy- last baby.
But they were both bigger than my girls. First girl- second baby- was heavier than my second girl- third baby.

1-DS- nearly 10 pounds
2- DD- 9lbs
3- DD- 8lbs
4- DS almost 11 pounds.

EcoCustard · 28/02/2022 16:36

Dc1,2 & 3 were under 5lbs or under. Dc4 was 5lbs 6oz so my biggest.

IsItTooHotInHere · 28/02/2022 17:29

My sons are 40 and 38 now, but born were:
6lb 14oz, 18inches long, a month early
10lb 13oz, 23 inches long, 4 days late

My husband had a vasectomy a year after Son 2. He was 27 when he had that done. We're in our 60s now

ImNotWhoYouThinkIam · 28/02/2022 17:31

1st - 7lb 6oz. On his due date
2nd - 8lb 2oz. 10 days late

sadpapercourtesan · 28/02/2022 17:33

My first was born at 34 weeks and was 8lb 7oz - dread to think how big he would have been at full term!

My second was two weeks early and 9lb 2oz.

Londonnight · 28/02/2022 17:33

8lb 12oz
8lb 14oz
9lb 5oz All natural births

8lb 8oz - emergency C section

BobbysKnuckles · 28/02/2022 21:54

Baby 1 - 7lb 11 (eight days late)
Baby 2 - 5lb 14 (nine days early)
Baby 3 - 7lb 2 (seven days late)

No reason why my middle girl was so tiny at birth, though I'm a really short lady and she seems more like me genetically than my two other daughters so far.

mewkins · 28/02/2022 22:11

Mine both weighed exactlybthe same 8lb 3oz
Dd(1st) was 12 days late
Ds (2nd) was delivered on due date

MollieSheep1 · 28/02/2022 22:21

1st 8lb 40+3
2nd 8lb 10oz 39+6
3rd 8lb 15oz 39+6

They are all the same sort of build now, tall and lean in the torso Smile

bruffin · 28/02/2022 22:23

Both the same weight 6lb 9oz 2 years apart
