Baby fell on face from sitting, worried

Currently on the phone to 111 but wondering if any of you have some advice or similar experience.
Our 6 month old baby fell on his face from sitting position (he was sat on the floor and DH left him unsupported for "2 seconds" when it happened), there was a bit of crying and nose bleed, but after 5-10 min he was fine.
What I'm worried about is that when he smiles or makes faces his bottom jaw is kind of pushed to the side? He's breastfeeding, chewing and gnawing like normal and doesn't seem in pain.
I'm so worried his jaw got misplaced and will remain like this forever? Could it hopefully be only a muscle twitch or similar making it?

Hope he's okay.

My dd pulled a similar lopsided face whenever she smiled at that age - think she was teething and was sort of chewing / messing with the new tooth.

You're doing the right thing getting checked anyway.

Any update? Very worrying but these things happen! I took a dive from my high chair according to my mother and have had a crooked nose since (though I also bashed it on a sledge going down icy steps as a youngster, I'm sure I've broken it more than once).

Jk24 · 18/02/2022 23:05

How is he op? Don't beat yourself up these things happen when learning to hold themselves. Wait til hes walking and climbing on everything!

Thank you for your support everyone, we're now back home and the little one is just doing some sleepy breastfeeding.
He got checked by the doc head to toe and she wasn't worried about his jaw. She said that if it was dislocated he wouldn't be able to move it and would be screaming in pain every time he tried to open it.
She said some parts of his mouth may be a bit sore and he may putting his jaw this way to ease the pain. Hopefully things will go back to normal soon.

Thanks again, reading your posts really made me feel better when sitting and worrying in a&e waiting room!

Hi OP, is everything back to normal? Thanks

Dahlia5 · 22/02/2022 15:54

@gemloving

Hi OP, is everything back to normal? Thanks
Hello, yes he's all fine, his mouth is getting less and less uneven every day, so it must have been a bit of swelling or soreness causing it xx
